Great game! I really like the concept of using prime numbers to defeat the enemies. The music and sound were fantastic! I've got to say though, I'm pretty good with math and even I found this to be a bit difficult, but it's probably more a matter of my reaction time. I still had a great time playing though.
Thank you. As an engineering classes teacher and the game developer, I'd say is part reactio, part math and part emotions control. My top score is 3500... ๐
a really good game. i like the learning effect. The sounds and music is a good choice. Only missing an Option to set the volume of the sound/Music or to turn them off.
Thank you for the feedback. Music and SFX volume settings are on the improvements checklist.
Great game! All these shiny particle effects really make you want to try again! Really well put together!
Thank you. I just love Unity's URP combined with Bloom Volume.
"hey this is simple, just match the numbers with the keys.. wait.. WHAT IS THIS HUGE NUMEBR", almost dies to a panic attack before my brain realised I was supposed to be doing math.
Great tension during boss fights, matched by a change in music! The visual and sound FX for hits was felt impactful! First educational game i played too, really revived my trauma for math from my long-past schooling days.
7/7 will prime again. Solid Entry!
Thank you so much for this feedback. Glad to help you revive those awesome school time. Math is just as easy as this game. Had to read the feedback twice because the laughing made me breathless.
Excellent work! As a developer of EDU games, I can appreciate the mechanics you have used to help students understand prime factorization. The game aesthetics are highly polished, the controls are smooth, and the concepts easy to grasp but hard to master given the time pressure (I got killed in my first game by a '30' because I didn't factorize 6 into 2 * 3 ... and I have a degree in math, lol).
Impressive work on such a short time frame!
Thank you very much for your feedback. I've been gathering as much knowledge I can grasp on how to develop fun games the add value to people. Most educational games I've been in touch with were very boring and gave me a classroom feel, which I don't wanna feel out of a classroom. Please try Lamp unto my feet as well and give me feedback. It's not part of the Game Jam and it's already on Google Play Store. It's a free game with ads that has the objective of been fun and teach biblical words.
Mathmatical!
Good job finishing your game for the jam. I enjoyed it 'cuz I enjoy math. I like the inventive concept. My only nit picks would be it'd be nice if I could have used the number pad or mapped the four numbers onto four keys that were beside each other. I often lost my place on the top row numbers of the keyboard. Also, i felt like the bullets could have travelled a little faster. I'd move my mouse, but the bullet stream would lag behind a little too slowly.
Overall, great game. Keep making more!
Thank you for the feedback. As soon as the voting phase of Jam is over, I'll make changes in the game based on players feedback.
My suggestion would be to create a new itch.io project and put up the game as a post-jam edition. Keep what you have here as a reference for the future so you can see exactly what you submitted, what people's comments were and to see your progress.
Thanks. Will do it.
This was pretty cool!
At first I was a little intimidated by the quick math needed to break down the bigger numbers, but then I realized the colors of the tentacles were directly related to the prime numbers needed! Very nice little additional feedback there!
Great job!
Thank you. ๐
This is such a cool game!
Thank you.
Fun game with a really cool idea. Good job :)
Thank you.
5 stars for the mechanics (once I read the instructions)
I REALLY like this game, well done.
You should definitely commercialise this idea.
Thank you. I plan on porting it to Android and distribute as a free game with ads on Play Store. The instructions button should be more inviting. ๐
It was a fun mechanic and very good glowing art enjoyed playing it.
Thank you. I really love Unity's URP combined with Bloom Volume.
Good one! I only got to 14000 but felt good about it. The mechanic is brilliant and not overwhelming at all.
Thank you.
My top score is 3500... ๐
Enjoyed the game. Took a few tries to get used to it, but the mechanics work perfectly. I like that a visual cue is provided from where the enemy will arrive. Use the numbers mentioned on the enemies and just direct the fire towards that enemy to destroy that. Scored 1000 and reached the boss. Keep up the good work :)
Thank you. Don't tell anyone, but the visual cue is a bug I could remove... ๐คฃ I agree that it really helps and at the end I learned to like it.
I really enjoyed this! The idea is just brilliant, it's a nice educational game.
I really liked the difficulty scaling, teaching you how it works before introducing stronger enemies where you had to use your head more. The bosses were cool!
Thank you.
The combination of prime factors with this is very interesting, I liked the clean and unique mechanics and it has a nice look and feel, very good job on it!
Thank you.
Interesting concept. But should have a slower difficulty scaling for the math impaired like me ๐
Math feels hard yet it is not. Or is it?
Nice work, didnt get far, my math skills arent great and I panic button mash when they get too fast. Maybe since using the mouse to control the shooting, right mouse button to change numbers, or the scroll button.
Thank you. I like very much the idea of using scroll button to change between prime factors. Any idea about the interface on mobile devices? I thought of using 1 to 4 fingers screen touch, each representing a prime factor.
Didnt think of mobile but I guess thats the resolution reason. Having the buttons for the numbers is good idea but how would you aim the firing on mobile? might get a little clustered... maybe 1 button to swipe left or right to scroll numbers?
Thanks. That's exaclty why the resolution. ๐
Took me several times to understand that I had to change the number to hit the target ^^ Then I have a big guy with a 30 on it and didn't know what to do :) I think that the mechanic that involves weapons change is cool, reminds me Ikaruga in some way ^^
I really think I should have made an initial tutorial on how to play. The how to play button is not standing out. ๐
I like having to switch the bullets to kill the bad guys. Great Job!
Thank you. I really think that is fun too.
Love the sounds and the mechanics!
Thank you. As soon as I heard the first DOS-88 songs I found, it macthed perfectly with the intended game atmosphere.
