How does your game match the theme?
Rockyroid is the main character, and he was sent on a mission that requires him to go to space and explore exoplanets. Space = outer space.

Man the base player is quite nice, he controls incredibly well for a GB game character.
And honestly the platforming worked well with him too. And the enemy variety was very nice, because you basically made each one a custom enemy. That's impressive.
My only gripe was that the capture minigame was difficult sometimes and the last second locked control. But aside from that, it was quite fun. Expand on this idea more. I really like the concept of this creature catching dog explorer smashing down pillers, gliding and bouncing through space.
First of all, the presentation is immaculate. Amazing job on that! I love the creatures, the music is very catchy, and the pixel art is great.
The gameplay is really good, the platforming is rock solid, but suffers from a few flaws here and there. The biggest of which being unclear hitboxes (i try to crouch bullets but they still hit me?) and not being able to see faster enemies as they approach you from offscreen. Furthermore, the boomerang weapon is a bit complicated to hit enemies with - I found myself using the creature catcher bottle on enemies I had already captured just because it travels in a straight line.
Overall an amazing job!
Congrats on your submission! Very cute platformer. I love the artwork and the rhythm game like aspect of doing the sequences to capture the creatures. Very cool!
Oh you're so talented. Did you make it all by yourself? That's a good one!
This is one of my favorite entries this year!
That was cool! The character designs are cute, and the moveset is quite fun.
I like how the punishment for overusing the boomerang is built-in; if you miss, you have to wait to use it again.
The audio seems imbalanced; the music is a bit louder than the sound effects.
Great work!
Finally got around to playing it, and this game is super cool and really complete! I love it, definitely feels like something you'd see on a real gameboy from beginning to end. I went in blind and skipped the training, but even so could figure out how to use everything without much trouble! (Unless you can aim the boomerangs, I did not figure that out.)
My only nitpicks are that ducking doesn't actually reduce your hitbox, pressing up to climb ladders makes you switch weapon which players may not notice until they shoot something (I appreciate that nothing dies in one hit, so that didn't screw me over), and I'm a little sad there's only one ending. I tried bringing back nothing and still got humanity's praise, so I guess they just assumed there were no aliens out there.
By the way, I'm wondering if I ran into some bugs? Sometimes I could throw way more boomerangs than usual, and I have no idea why. I theorized it was coin-related but that didn't seem to be it. As well, at first when I messed up one of my capture prompts (on the RJ-numbers enemy), it would not let me input the final arrow despite having lives and 1 or 2 seconds left. On later captures I was able to do it... So I'm not sure what happened.
Note: While testing out various capture-related things, I accidentally died during a capture segment and it didn't break anything, so I'd say you still did a nicely thorough bugfixing job!
Great game! The presentation is right on point with the GB style. The tutorial explains the unique mechanics well. Music & SFX are pleasant & well done.
This is brilliant. If Pokemon and Megaman had a baby, and that baby was actually good, it would be this game.
Very smooth controls with a surprising variety of moves, amazing variety of enemies, well-designed levels.
It's a bit nail-bitingly hard at times, but then again, I suppose it takes after its father, Megaman.
I like the game. It felt like there were some unavoidable damage at places and some enemies were placed with malicious intent for sure : ). I like the capture mechanic, it's like an instant kill but it wont net me any hearts, so it's a tradeoff. A minor annoyance was to have the weapon reset upon death. And I would have liked to have been able to see if i did capture all the aliens when the game was over. It was a pretty enjoyable game overall. Cute dog both in and out of game, good work!
Great game, but after I captured all the creatures on level 1 and got to the end, I could not leave the level viva the menu, nor find a exit. Think it soft locked me.
Hey, thanks for playing! =)
It's a linear level, so, in the end, you will find a rocket and complete the level. I'm glad you captured all the creatures :D
Great work! The gameplay is well rounded and robust. Tons of depth for a jam game. Good job!
Excellent game!
Impressive graphics and very enjoyable gameplay.
So much content!!!
Levels are well developed and polished.
Some enemies felt a bit damage spongy, but platforming overall was nice and tight.
Nice work, congrats!
Incredible. I can't believe you managed to make this in just 10 days. The controls are tight, the moves are fun to use and the graphics are extremely good.
If you would make a full game out of this, I'd play it.
I really liked it! Clever idea, nice graphics, music. It has a soul! Good job, awesome game!
Great game! The aesthetic is fantastic and the music really makes you feel like a GameBoy game. I like how you implemented the combination of buttons to allow more mechanics with the limited A + B + Dpad buttons available.
The mechanic for capturing aliens is a clever way to deal with the GB restrictions.
10/10
Awesome
omg, best game i've seen so far, i love the platforming, really makes me wish I'd also done a platformer.
controls are super smooth, art and sound is great, and i like the palette switch feature.
