Interesting concept. Great job on the artwork. Good work in terms of story as well. Decent game for the 48 hour time period. Well done.
Awesome visuals, great shader work and also great camera work. I appreciate the slow gameplay, it is still fun because the story really intrigues & moves me, hope this game is included in the top 20, great job! :)
All around impressive, I can tell a lot of effort went into this game. It was pretty fun too! I liked the art a lot, I haven't seen many (if any) 2d3d games here.
Wow, I've got a lot to say about this one! I love your environment design, first of all. Every level is interesting to look at and unique! It's a good thing too, because the girl is so slow xD
On the third level with the rotating platforms, I tried the top road first, and it was waay more difficult than the lower one, partly because I wanted to stay far away from the platforms to flatten them, but couldn't tell the length of my tether.
For the first few levels I had trouble figuring out some of the mechanics, but you did a good job with the graphic at the beginning of the enemy ghost level to show fighting. I also liked how every level kept introducing new mechanics, and the way you connected the mechanic with the story for the ending was wonderful. Fantastic work!
how did you get passed the purple fire on the second level?
There's a purple orb above it that acts as a switch when the ghost touches it, if I remember right!
thank you! ok going back to try again.
Definitely a very interesting medley of mechanics to go along with the together theme. And it was lovely, and appealing in terms of its visuals and story. As noted by others it was unforgiving in terms of mistakes, partly due to the not-being-in-control of the lady walking at her own slow pace, partly due to no "safe" tutorial (trial by fire), so I didn't manage to get through level 3.
But definitely enjoyed the concept, well, enjoyed as in appreciated, not that the experience of the character is something to exactly enjoy stated as such. *solemn*
Thank you very much for the experience!
It's a really beautiful game! I find the gameplay kind of reminiscent of the late 90s-early 00s games where it was more about showing a story rather than consistent gameplay, and nowhere is that more clear in the last level. I loved the inclusion of the walls as a story mechanic, even if they were kind of random from a gameplay perspective. Great job!
This is an interesting one. From a gameplay perspective, it wasn't necessarily "fun" (you spend most of the time waiting for a character to slowly move onscreen), but from a narrative/visual perspective, it tells an interesting story. Good job!
Man there is so much about this game that is awesome, the way the music morphs and world changes to reflect the different stages, to the introduction of different elements and challenges tied to those stages as well, the invisible walls the ghost couldn't pass through in "acceptance" was particularly inspired making traversal more difficult until finally the journey reached it's end, a very poetic ending. I'd agree with people saying the game wasn't necessarily "fun" from a gameplay perspective, and the camera was a bit funky, but, man is it a emotional ride. Bravo!
Might be the best visual presentation I've seen in the Jam so far, especially those beautifully drawn vignettes at the start. At first I didn't think I was going to like the music but the way it morphed between levels really won me over. And this is definitely the most emotionally evocative game I've played in this Jam. It's a wonderful take on the theme.
Similar to other commenters, I don't feel the game is much fun at this point, by way of slowness, but this is such a strong concept and the idea has so much clear potential that it still is a Top Notch submission in my opinion. Well done!
I think this is one of the most creative implementations of the theme I have seen! I especially liked the music tracks changing level to level, that was a nice touch!
Cute ghost is cute! The semi-puzzles were good although I thought it was a tad too slow for my taste but overall a very interesting game!
Great visual + audio effects and I liked the premise behind it. Good work!
Enjoyed the variations on the main theme. Absolutely loved the cover/intro/ending art. The second level was a bit of a beast, but some timing got it. Overall, a great meditation on the stages of grief.
lost me on the second level, but maybe it's just not for me.
The girl moves too slowly, and waiting as a mechanic is never fun. Also the player needs some feedback for when the ghost is getting too far from the girl.
I was pleasantly surprised by the audio and the thematic visuals. The concept of a cute ghost following her lover after death is pretty wholesome too. Well done!
Really well done! Love it, love the distortion of the music particularrily, that was pretty incredible. Gameplay was a bit confusing, a few more tutorials or maybe clearer tutorials would be amazing but for the most part other than that, this game is awesome, keep up the good work
I really love the art in this, both the 2D art and the 3D art work really well. I ve the aesthetic of things floating behind the path, it fits the mood of the game perfectly. I also really like the concept of the spirit guiding the young woman, and the story is told really well and really quickly with some great art, making it hit all the harder. My only problem is that the gameplay has a bit too much trial-and-error, and probably too few checkpoints. It can be a bit frustrating waiting through some parts repeatedly for the girl to catch up, which is something you'll have to do a lot of since the game isn't very easy and has some pretty long levels. Still, I really like this game, as the art, story, and themes are really well done.
Very cool game! I like the idea of the spirit of someone's lover helping them through their journey. Well done! I'd be interested to see your rating of my submission!
Very good graphics for such a short amount of time. The levels feel detailed and different from each other.
I'm not sure if the call-out thing should be random? Sometimes it works and sometimes it didn't and you had to spam it.
Well done!
Very nice game, great graphics i like the draws
