It was pretty neat but it did get tedious after a while.

This is really nice! As you said on discord, our games are kinda similar, at least shooting-wise, you have to stop shooting to reload. I won't comment on this mechanic since I've done basically the same, but you implemented it really well! The whole lighting up the enemies so your friend can shoot them thing is really cool and I like the enemy behaviours. Maybe the enemy projectiles could be a bit bigger (or have some kind of glow) so they'd be a bit more visible, but you're fine if you pay attention to them. Good job!

Nice Game, really loved the sound effects!

Fun to play! The art is super and I love the dialogue too :)

Fun game! I would have liked it if the torch was off at the start of the level though. Very well polished though and it looked great! Good job.

This is an awesome idea for the jam theme! I really enjoy how well executed the levels are and all the polish on the edges, I loved the dialogue, loved the enemies reacting to the light, and loved the visuals!

The one thing that was a tad bothersome though was the lack of any kind of invulnerability frames. If two enemies stacked, it looked like you were taking two damage. In later levels typically if you bumped into one enemy you were going to hit into the next two.

Great job!

Nuclear throne if it had a stealth element to it with a twist. This game is remarkably polished, just playing the first few levels without the knowledge of the true length of the game, I would not have guessed if it was a full release game or not. The only downside would be that it was a bit frantic/fast at some points. Great game nonetheless. Looking forward to seeing a post-jam full game!

Very cool game! Reminds me a lot of Nuclear Throne, the art is amazing and the controls are responsive! Good job!

I had so much fun with this! I like the concept and the sound + the fact I'm lighting the way felt good clearing the path together with my nuclear buddy ;)

Really fun, and very well polished. Best game i've played so far, great job!

Fun game! It felt very polished. Impressive for being able to get done in 48 hours!

This game is super fun to play! And it looks really polished as well! The art and the sound design fit really well!

I would love to see this becoming a full game, maybe even a multiplayer game. One player could the flashlight guy and would be able to see where the enemies in the dark, but on the other player's screen the room would be pitch black except for the part under the flashlight. Please tell me if you make a post-jam version, I would love to try it!

Overall, an awesome entry!

This is a pretty cool idea. Taking a shooting game and making the player indirectly control the weapon is a neat idea. The game looks and sounds great, too. I found the controls in combat a little too frantic. It was very easy to lose track of which character I was and I died a lot because of it. Enemies moved a little quickly, too.

Overall, still pretty fun and super awesome for a 48 hour jam. Well made!

Oh, the polish! I actually thought to myself after getting the second power core, "Surely, they didn't have time to make the enemies respawn." And then, BAM, more enemies!

Developer

Yeah, maybe the scripted extra spawning was a little overkill

oh, no! I'm saying it was an unexpected bit of quality and polish, given such a short dev time.

Clever twist of mechanics, and it all came together very well. I'd love to see this expanded on, if you had a couple extra powers to keep things staying fresh you could make a full-length game out of this!

Very thoughtful design. Taking the shooting away from a top down shooter and giving you a flashlight to assist is awesome. I'm pleasantly surprised by how well all the different mechanics at play fit together and I think the flashlight battery mechanic is an awesome idea to add difficulty and skill

I really enjoy the shooting mechanics in this game, and the idea of only being able to shoot when the light is on the enemy is very creative. It's overall a very good well polished game.

Nice rogue lite with a "twist" reload mechanic. People said that it was hard, but I think it was the right amount of difficulty. very polished for a jam game, only thing improvable are music/sfx.

Great game, I could play this all day if I didn't have to be at work haha.  This is all around a  good game.  My one suggestion is that the battery meter is not as fun to look at as the rest of the game, so maybe the battery amount can also be reflected in the strength of the light -- or maybe the light can start to flicker when the battery is low.  That's just a minor suggestion though, great job on this!

Developer(+1)

Hey, thank you for your kind words :), also I really love the idea of the flickering effect, that is a 10/10  suggestion.

Nice, good luck I hope you continue working on this
