Wow, this is a pretty neat concept I think with a bit more polish and a proper tutorial it would be a really fun and interesting game.

I was lost at first but after a couple of tries I started to understand how the mechanics worked, maybe just introduce the mechanics a bit slower to the player. Maybe only one side wave at first and slowly introudce all four sides to make it more aproachable and less confusing.

I live the concept, visuals and music a lot.

Great work !!!

Developer

Yes introducing and slowly ramping up difficulty and complexity would help a lot! Thank you for checking it out and your feedback :)

I hit wave 8. I really enjoyed it; but the difficulty does ramp up quite a bit once you reach these levels. I barely have time to finish two sides before dying.

Controls-wise, having it be a drag-and-drop is a bit of a... drag, it would be mercilessly more fun with a drag-and-connect underneath kind of thing - it would make it feel a lot smoother and encourage more multi-track drifting.

I can see some additional complexity with a bit of colour mixing, that seems like a natural way to go.

If the music synced up with when waves started, it would be beautiful. I had a couple moments in my playthroughs like that, but they were coincidences.

I like it! I'll check back for a post-jam version, for sure!

Developer

Wave 8 is pretty impressive! You are right, I think the timer should decrease a little slower, the way it is right now it gets impossible pretty fast. I think you are right, a connect-underneath mechanic would really help with the controls. Maybe I find the time to work on a small post-jam update and can try to implement that. Also, that input with synced music is a good idea. Thank you very much for your feedback, I really appreciate it!

Have to admit, the idea for this game feels quite original. The presentation is simplistic but is quite clear about what going on. The only big problem I had was understanding the basic rules for the first time. It took me a few attempts to get how exactly you wire everything together. Also, maybe some kind of timer or start button could make the feedback more clear (I never knew when the wave start). In rest, solid entry with a good core mechanic.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback. Yes it really needs some kind of progression or at least a tutorial, I agree. Thank you for checking it out!

Thoroughly enjoyed your game!  Maybe some kind of timer to see when the next wave is? maybe not :)

Developer

Thank you for your feedback. I agree with the timer :)

Submitted(+1)

Very good concept, but it could have been better if the player had more for building his defence.

Developer

I assume more time? I don't wanted it to be too long, so that people could faster see and understand the mechanics. But I see how the timer can be to short when playing the first couple times.

Submitted(+1)

haha yes, I was talking about time

Submitted(+1)

I love the concept. I wish I could continue setting color while the platforms are moving, otherwise, great job.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Yes it triggered a bug, which I had not time to fix any more, so I locked input once the waves start as a quick workaround. Maybe I have another look at it after the jam :)

Great concept! The gif below the game was very important for me to understand the mechanics, good that you added that, before I saw that I was really confused. I also really loved the music and how it added more instruments as you progress. Really nice. Btw we also made a synthwave game if you are interested!

Developer

Thanks so much for the feedback! :)

Great game. I really loved the art style.

Developer

Thank you!

Submitted(+1)

The concept was fantastic. At first it was hard to understand what I was suppose to do. But the Music was Very Nice.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

This is a fantastic concept, took me a minute to figure out but had a lot of fun once I got my head around it

Would love to see a mode where you have to use as few moves as possible if you ever develop this further!

Developer(+1)

Thank you, yes some kind of tutorial would have been a good idea. Maybe I will make some kind of post-jam version with some improvements. Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

:) I love the music and the concept!

I think a little bit of guidance/tutorial would have helped a lot! (a bit of description in your itch.io page would help too!) I also struggled to figure out how the controls at first. And then I also struggled to figure out how to arrange things correctly.

Developer(+1)

I agree on the tutorial, there was too less time left for that. I will update the page though, thanks for the feedback!

The music is AWESOME! And the vibe and just theme and idea is really really neat! Took me a bit to figure out how it works, but once it came together it really came alive! Very cool game! nice vibe and great job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much, I really appreciate your feedback! :D

It's pretty hard to grasp initially mainly because the walls seem to start after a given time and not because out of any other reason. A counter on the top that display the time left might've helped fixing that. Besides that tough really nice game and well done.

Developer

yes, that is true, a timer would have been a great idea. Why did I not think about it xD. Thx for playing!

Submitted(+2)

This was hard to understand but really cool once I got it! Very original puzzle concept!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback :)

Submitted(+2)

I really like the concept but the timer feels too much for a puzzle time (I've had a hard time finishing the first defense)! Maybe a "press space to start" would have felt a bit better

Developer

I see the timer was not everyones cup of tea :). Good to know, and thanks for checking it out!

Submitted(+1)

Cool concept, took my a while to understand what I need to do.. I think you could have use a bigger square since I ended up missing quite a few times.

Well done!

Developer

Yes, if I had more time, I probably would have added some kind of progression, so the mechanics would be clearer. But thank you for playing

Submitted(+1)

Really cool idea for a game. Could have used more time for each puzzle but then again the timer made it extra fun.

Developer

Thx, really appreciate the nice words!

Submitted(+2)

The concept is fun, but the limited time really feels like too much, I'd rather have unlimited time to understand how to solve the puzzle.

Developer(+1)

maybe I will add an option like that as an after-jam version, we'll see

Submitted(+2)

Figuring out the puzzle in time is tough, but I love the concept! Great application of the theme to join the nodes together to protect the core.

Developer

Thank you. Yea, the timer should add some difficulty.

(+1)

Love it!

Developer

thanks mate, appreciate it!

:)
