This game looks really nice and polished and I see what you mean about a tactile menu. I spent a lot of time in this game trying to figure out what to do though, I think some things could be communicated a little bit clearer. For example, I didn't know the magnets had to actually join outside the cube, then I didn't realise the exit to the box was one way so I wasted time trying to get the outside one inside. Also on the second level, I tried to break through the main door first but that didn't work even though a different door did. Basically, It's a cool concept with great presentation but I wish some things were communicated more clearly
This is a really neat take on the theme. I will say that my IRL experiences with magnets kinda got in the way of solving the puzzles in this game. I was expecting the red magnet to fall if I got the blue magnet too far away, but that doesn't happen. Once I got around that, I was able to solve all the puzzles (all 2). I had fun with it.
Really awesome interpretation of the theme "Joined Together". I am afraid I won't say anything new, but the graphics and models are absolutely amazing, the music fits the experience so well. As the majority commented, the controls seemed a bit slugish sometimes, but I see that there will be a post jam version with improved controls and extra levels. Can't wait to see it!
I'm really glad you liked our game!!!
That's all good, It to be expected that the majority of issues have already been said, but it definitely doesn't hurt to repeat them! the more something is repeated, that means the more people want us to fix that issue, so we give those issues priority! :)
Short but well realised :D I really loved the puzzle-box element of this game; I thought it tied in well with the mechanic.
I think you could have done a bit more to have signposted what was interactable in the diorama (I see now there’s a gif of the magnet going through boxes; but I missed that when just downloading it :P), but 48 hours is never enough time to do everything.
I'm really glad you liked it!
Yeah, we tried really hard to have a really low scope so we could properly focus on polishing the game, but there were definitely some aspects that we should have spent more time on, mainly playability and tutorials! rest assured we'll be making that much clearer in later updates!
Very cool project! The level design of each little self contained box was dope, I loved the little diaramas. The magnets were quite hard to control, but I got there in the end! Great job :)
I'm so glad you like it!
I actually plan on pretty much completely reworking the way you move the magnets since my current solution is veeryy hacky haha
would love to see more levels, the music was incredible, the only down side is the controls being a little finiky at times, but that doesnt retract from the really cool concept, well done
Thank you! it means a lot!!
We're committed to making more levels and more content in the future! I'm also planning on completely reworking the way you drag the magnet around haha, I did a bit of a hacky solution for the sake of the 48 hr deadline (didn't want to spend a whole day milling over "the best solution") but now that we've got more time, I'm gonna be hunkering down and spending lots of time getting that all to work much better.
Rally fun to play ! Only two levels, but both nicely done, and really cute universe !
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you liked our puzzle game :)
The levels are definitely our most proud aspect of the game and we fully plan on making more levels in the future!!!
Wow that is such a good game! I was confused at first, but once I figured it out, it was really cool! I am sad that it only has 2 levels, but they are very well done levels! It gave my The Room vibes, but much happier and more peaceful! Really cool idea and game! Well done!
Ayyyyy! your the second person to reference The Room! (the game, not the movie haha)
I 100% had that game in my subconscious when we were developing, and I've been thinking about replaying that game for further inspiration!
Thank you! We tried really hard to lower our game scope for the jam, nearly did the 3rd level but cut it to focus on polish! a propper tutorial is definitely something we shouldn't have neglected though! we definitely learnt that the hard way haha xD
Our next update is going to be fully focused on tutorial levels and playability and fixing bugs! then propper content and more levels will come after!
I did it! That was super cool! One of the most unique things I've seen on here! To be honest I was a little disappointed at first when I realized the objects didn't actually behave like real-world magnets, ie, when blue was too far away I was expecting red to drop to the floor, but later I realized some of the cool puzzle implications from doing it the way you did! I solved both puzzles! Very clever!
Oh and it's super satisfying when you click on a menu item!
Thank you!
I was actually originally making them work like real-world magnets but the unity physics system didn't like it haha, when the magnets were too close, the force got so strong that they'd constantly wiggle around even with extremely high air drag. I'm definitely glad I went for less realistic physics thought because as you said, it opens up so many cool solutions to the puzzles.
My absolute favorite thing to do was watch people play, and watch them come up with completely unique solutions to the same puzzle. the ladder and lever in level 2 had so many cool solutions that I didn't even know people would do when I first designed it!!
That's pretty impressive! Nice work :)
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it :)
Very original ! Really liked the idea.
Very little feeback : the borders on the edges of the cube kinda get in the way and can make it a bit hard for the magnet to pass over them.
Great work ! I liked it a lot :)
Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you liked our little puzzle game!!!
Yeah, the corners definitely are a problem, I'm looking into a few solutions, but the most promising is altering the whole click and drag mechanic, to begin with, because that will solve multiple birds with one stone!
Wow! What a great game with an interesting puzzle mechanic. The animation when you click each UI button is really satisfying! The way you have applied the art from the resources you have used is excellent.
One recommendation I do have, in the Itch edit game page, make sure to tick the Windows icon here. That means people can install it through the Itch launcher which is a lot more convenient for most folks!
Thank you very much for taking time to play our game! I've just ticked the box, I didn't even realise there was such an option (._.) Thanks for the help!
What an original concept ! I got stuck for a long time because I didn't understand the rules properly, it is not obvious at the start that the blue part cannot enter the box, and that is what I was trying to do. But once the concept is clearly understood that is pretty fun to play, even though it is sometimes hard to control the magnets properly.
Just a suggestion, why not using a sphere instead of a box ? It would make controls a bit easier I think, it's the edges of the box that make it hard to control.
Thanks for playing!!!
Yeah, we plan on making some proper tutorial levels to teach the game mechanics a lot better. as for the blue magnet not entering the box, I'm considering making the exit hole have a transparent red plane, that way it kinda indicates "hey this isn't a normal hole" and "this probably has something to do with the red magnet"
the game … is a little bit too hard
i couldn’t finish the 2nd level at all, i would always get stuck at it, also the tutorial level is a little bit too hard for a new player even with the explained gameplay in the “i” button.
it is a bit of a shame that i have to say that, the game looks so fun & amazing, but it is so hard i can’t play it anymore
Hey, Thanks for playing anyways!
You're right, the game definitely has a learning curve and it's our #1 priority for our first update! We'll be adding some propper tutorial levels and making a lot of things much, much more clear so hopefully, people will spend less time scratching their head and more time thinking of a solution with all the mechanics in their head!
That would be amazing :D
Really fun! I really enjoyed this one! And it looked great and was very relaxing.
My only critisism was that the magnets clipped through a lot of the objects for me which made some parts very difficult (in the second level it took me a while to hit the lever because I kept clipping through the wall dividing the rooms) and made some puzzles skipable (I clipped straight through the wall a couple of times).
But apart from those few bugs to iron out I think you have a great game here!
Oh yeah, we had a few problems with collider boxes and clipping through stuff. that will be fixed in later updates of the game!
Either way, I'm really glad you enjoyed playing our little puzzle game!
Really good puzzle game and i like the visual
GJ
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the game! :)
Wow that was amazing! Half the fun was just looking at the amazing levels you created! I don't know if there were any instructions anywhere, but I didn't need them! What an intuitive concept.
The few things that caught me off guard was the fact that some things were desturctible and some things were interact-able with the mouse and some with the magnets. I would have appreciated some sort of visual distinction here (at least for the destructible objects)
And way more of a polish/post-jam request, it would be great if the player could tweak vertical/horizontal view rotation speeds. Getting my view from the top to the bottom of the cube felt really slow
That all being said, I still absolutely love what you've done here, it's great and I would love more levels!
Nice!
All very true!!
I never would have thought to add vertical and horizontal sliders in the options but you're so right that would definitely help, and maybe inverting the axes for certain people to like inverted looking.
I'm really glad you enjoyed the game and the levels! Kristina put a lot of love into the levels to make them look so awesome :)
Fun little puzzle game. Nice and relaxing, not too tough, good use of physics and triggers. Hope you can make more levels!
Thank you so much! Yes! We plan on making more levels and more content, and updating the physics a lil bit to make it even better!
The concept is sound, even if the challenges are very easy at this point. I can't believe you made this in just 48 hours! Mind blowing!
Thank you! Harder challenges to come!!!
Looking forward to the increased challenges!
