Very cool! A shame they don't fit in either direction, since they appear symmetric. Is that deliberate or just a side effect of the implementation? Even so, amazing take on the theme.

Developer(+1)

Thank you, Phlp for playing our game and dropping a comment. For now, the conductor only fits one way, but we have already made the changes as per the suggestions and it should be a part of the next release. :)

Submitted(+2)

Funny game, I like the glowing visuals :) Yeah most of the problems due to bugs, but none-the-less congratulations on this one! :)

Developer(+2)

We are glad you enjoyed the aesthetics of the game and found the game entertaining.  We have noted down all the changes we will be making in our next release and it should be more polished then. Thank you for stopping by, Tn7111. :)

Cool idea, many issues. First off, there is no difference between conductors that can be moved, conductors that are static, and conductors that are decorative. Secondly, the conductors only fit one way which makes it feel unintuitive. Third, the game seems to just be clicking sections of conductor until they light up, even if they aren't connected. It is more of a point and click game than a puzzle. There should be multiple correct looking solutions that mess you up on later levels. Finally, I could not for the life of me figure out how to get the final one to light up, I clicked every conductor segment and got nothing.

Developer(+1)

Thank you LethalChicken for playing Glow It and finding the idea cool :) We really appreciate you investing your time into adding feedback. We will have all these common suggestions fixed in our first release, so we hope that should take care of this and we will also add quite a few levels and a bit of challenging logic. Much appreciated!

Submitted(+2)

It was very straight to the point that I can play without even reading a text.
But I feel it was too easy and obvious!

Developer(+1)

We are glad you found the game easy, we have mixed review on this one :) We will surely increase the complexity of the puzzle and try to make it a bit challenging. We already have few things in mind and suggestions from others. Thank you, Mary, for playing our game and dropping a comment.

Nicely done, and good idea.

I’ll join others by saying it was a bit confusing which circuits can be moved around, and which can’t. And for some, it seems arbitrary why it doesn’t connect even though the rotation looks good.

But overall, pretty good!

Developer

We are happy you liked the idea. The reason it does not fit two way is that we had some issues with the sprites at the last moment and had no time to fix it, so we adjusted the code and also added the instructions in the description :D Thank you for playing our game and dropping a comment, LeSam.

Unfortunately I found this quite hard to actually play - I didn't really understand what the goal was, as far as I could tell all I can do is click things until the lines light up, but that still didn't seem to light the lightbulb?

I also found it confusing that things only light up one way, and if you flip them 180 degrees they no longer light up, even though the two pieces look connected either way.

I also would have loved some sort of visual indication of which things I am allowed to turn and which things I can't

Developer(+1)

We are really getting a mixed review on this one, some have found the puzzle very easy and some have faced difficulties getting past the first level. For now, the conductors only fit one way and when it fits correctly the conductor will light up, if you want to give it another try, you can turn the conductors of the first level until they light up and that should glow the bulb. We have a lot of suggestions and feedback on visual indications, so that will be added in the next release with a nice tutorial to get you started. All in all, we are happy that you played our game and invested your time in adding feedback. Thank you Jakesamuellawrence much appreciated.

It took me a while to figure out that I had to flip the "wires" 180 degrees, and that they didn't just have to fit together. There's also no way to know which wires are clickable, and which are not. I got stuck on level 2, having seemingly clicked all the clickable items to make them glow, but the lightbulb did still not glow. Tried clicking every piece of wire on the screen, but no luck. (Edit: I had to go back to the first level and rotate one of the ones connecting to the second level lines, then it worked!)

The concept is really cool, the graphics are nice and clean. With a bit of cleanup and some puzzle elements to it, it could be a really interesting puzzle game. Nice job for 48 hours tho! :)

Developer(+2)

We are happy that you finally figured out level 2 and how it is joined together throughout the levels :) The conductors will connect 180 degrees once we get a chance to push an update. We are also glad you found the concept interesting and liked the aesthetics of the game. We are making a note of all the suggestions and feedback, so the next release should deliver a  more relaxing experience and fun to play. Thank you, Kreative for putting efforts into adding a comment and playing our game. Much appreciated!

Fun game!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks, Mrinin. We are happy that you liked the game.

Submitted(+2)

Great idea. It's entertaining enough to keep me playing for its whole length but not challenging in any way. The visuals were also presented really nicely. I think it might have been a glitch but I couldn't get the last bulb to light up for some reason. I liked it! Good job!

Developer(+1)

We are glad to know that you found the game entertaining and the liked ide. Thank you for appreciating the aesthetics of the game. We have quite a few ideas to increase the complexity of the puzzle, but we also want it to be mild so it still delivers a relaxing experience. Thank you, Ben Delvin for stopping by and playing our game.

Submitted(+2)

Nice game. I'm not going to repeat what other says. But I can add :

- I can't finish the 1st level, the most right end bulb does not light up, and I check all wires, multiple times.

- A one screen puzzle would be enough, no need to make it multiple screen.

- Interactable wires should be distinguishable for fixed wires.

- Don't know if you did it (I only practice level 1) but would be interesting to flip the printed circuit and play with the two sides.

Hope it helps.

Well done.

Developer(+1)

We are happy to read all the suggestions and feedback we are receiving from all of you awesome people. The reason we have multiple screens is that everything is connected, from one level to the last one, that's our take on the theme. We will be implementing the suggestions and work on the feedback and it should reflect in the next release. Thank you Frelude for investing your time into playing our game and adding a useful comment. :)

Submitted(+2)

Its was pretty relaxing experience, this could be nicely expanded upon. The pro-solution was just always click with right mouse button once or twice and the wires were instantly correct so not much of a challenge. Clever idea.

Developer(+2)

Yes, the right-click works better in most of the cases here.  :) We are happy that you had a relaxing experience and yes, we will be expanding this game further with more levels and a little complexity, soothing background music. Thank you, Juicy.games for dropping a comment.

Submitted(+2)

Very interesting concept and unique take on the theme. I could see this being a really fun, relaxing mobile game. Echoing the rest of the comments, it was a little confusing that wires only had one correct direction, and I wasn't able to light up the last bulb no matter what I did, but it was still a strangely compelling experience probably because of the really slick art style and that really satisfying clicking sound!

Developer(+1)

Thank you, Kyle, for streaming the game and we are really sorry that we weren't around when you played the game, though we went back and watched your stream. We are happy that you found the concept interesting and our take on the theme as unique. Yes, the conductors should work both ways and we will be making this change in our next release. Even we are looking forward to taking this to the next level and make it mobile platform compatible soon. We are glad you liked the aesthetics and the clicking sound satisfying :)  Thank you again for dropping a comment and investing your time into playing and reviewing our game, much appreciated! :)

Submitted(+2)

The game was fun, yet at the beginning a bit confusing. My solution for that would be creating very simple starting levels. The rest however is impeccable. Great job!

Developer(+2)

We are glad you liked the concept and had fun playing the game. We will surely consider your suggestion and make the changes accordingly. Thank you for stopping by, Kenarf. :)

Submitted(+2)

Cool concept! Would like to see it taken further. Others have mentioned already, but the wires only having 1 correct orientation was pretty confusing at first, but after that hurdle everything was fine.

Developer(+1)

Thank you, Swiney and we are happy that you liked the concept. We will be taking this further and we are working on the suggestions and feedback we are getting from you all. Highly appreciated!

Submitted(+2)

As someone that is on the verge of blowing up my house by tinkering with electronics I really liked the concept, it was nice to relax and complete a circuit knowing I wont fry anything.

And thats what I think the game could benefit from having. A simple adition I  would recommend is having 1 or 2 extra paths going that the player will need to pass the circuit from a resistor so it doesn't burn out the light (in this scenario an LED not a light bulb).

Really nice and relaxing game, good job!

Developer(+1)

Haha, yeah it's the safest circuit. We are happy that you found the game relaxing and liked the concept. We are keeping a note of all the suggestions we get so we can add that to our next release. Thank you again aVeryDrunkenFish for dropping a comment, we really appreciate it. :)

Nice little game ! It was a nice and enjoyable little game =) ! The art is simple, but perfect for this game, and your concept respect the theme =) !

I have three main critisisms :

- It's really perturbing to have to connect the cable on the "right" side. Normally, cables should let the current as long as the cables are connected, without caring for its direction.

- Probably an effect of the first point, but I don't understand why the cables glow once in the correct place. It's not a puzzle if you give the solution right away =). But I must admit that, with directional cables, it would have been impossible without.

- No music =). I would have enjoyed a little background music =)

Otherwise, that was a nice idea, congratulations =) !

Developer

We are happy that you enjoyed the game and found it simple yet perfect for the game and relevant to the theme. :)

  • (It's really perturbing to have to connect the cable on the "right" side. Normally, cables should let the current as long as the cables are connected, without caring for its direction.)
Yes, the reason we have this issue is that we were really running low on the time and had some alignment issues on our first scene, which we never got a chance to fix, so we had to stick with the correct side rather than both ways
  • (Probably an effect of the first point, but I don't understand why the cables glow once in the correct place. It's not a puzzle if you give the solution right away =). But I must admit that, with directional cables, it would have been impossible without.)
We will be making it in such a way that it only lights up when connected to the battery, but the reason we had to make it glow is again that it only fits one (correct) way :)
  • (No music =). I would have enjoyed a little background music =))
We wanted some soothing background music so the player feels more relaxed playing this game, but the click sound itself was added at the very last moment. We will have a good collection of music for our next release.\

Thanks again, SpicyFrog and we really appreciate you investing your time into adding feedback. :)

Beautiful game, really appreciate your artstyle)
Once weak point - it has no cheesing protection - wires only glow when in right place, that allow just to mindlessly spin them until they glow)

Developer(+1)

We are happy that you like the aesthetics of the game and yes, we will be making a change to the conductors in our next release. Thank you Chtulhuist for dropping a comment.

Submitted(+2)

I love the neon style! I think it would be cool if we could connect the wires in both directions. Also I had some minor issues with the resolution on my machine. Keep at it! :)

Developer(+2)

Thank you Banashiro for stopping by. We are happy that you liked the art style. We will be making the changes and the next release should be more polished than this one.  The resolution is just us uploading the game for the first time and had no idea that it won't scale down automatically. :)

Submitted(+2)

Your game looks really good man! :)

This might sound silly but I never thought about electric circuits even for a split of a second during the entire Jam... X)

That was a nice take! At first I thought that each circuit was independent from the others... and then I realized that they were all JOINED TOGETHER! X)

Nice work dude! :)

Developer(+1)

We found your comment to be the best one, it's very energetic and instantly made us find a way to pin it somehow, but then we thought, let's add it to the description instead. Thank you, Azar, for praising us as this is our first game ever. :)

Submitted(+2)

You're welcome dude! But you deserved it! :)

Finding a game idea for on a topic actually making it in 2 days ain't no easy task! That's also my first Jam so I feel you guys... X)

It took a lot of courage. From all of us. And THAT should be acknowledged. Congrats guys! :D

Submitted(+2)

The game has a nice and clean art style. It took me some time to figure out that the current is flowing in wires in one direction, which is not true in real life. I would also like to see which wires are interactable because now I basically spam click to find clickable wires.

Developer(+1)

Thank you Micz for investing your time in playing our game and dropping feedback. We will surely make the changes as we are noting all the suggestions and the feedback and it should reflect in the next release.
