Cool tower defense concept! Nice work!
Thanks for playing!
It is so addicting, i spend a long time playing it, very nice design, pixelart and sound effects, please continue working on it i would love to play it again! congratulations on your submission for the gamejam!!
Thank you! We haven't discussed if we'll continue working on it but if we do there are definitely lots of things we can add and improve!
Really nicely done in concept, presentation and design! I don't know much about tower defense games, but the touch of the cursor taking damage added an extra sort of bullet-hell element was very interesting. It did make it a bit tough though. Plus the music was dope. Great job!
Thanks for playing!
This is really fun concept. I like how you made tower defense more dynamic with roll mechanics. Good art too. Well done!
Thanks for playing!
Super fun game. Art was pleasing, gameplay works well. The collecting coins was annoying just because of how close I had to get to existing enemies to collect them, but this is over all a great game.
Thanks for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed it!
Very fun and creative take on the tower defense genre. Personally I'm a sucker for TD and I really liked the twist, it was cool and satisfying. The presentation on the project was also great, visually and sonically it was a pleasant experience. Nice Job! -#2
Really great concept! We both went in a similar direction! I loved the experience of figuring out what each tower did and finding my favourites. Its sometimes challenging to land a die next to an enemy without overshooting them, but thats part of the fun I think. Great work!
This was really fun, ended up playing it for quite a while! I really like this interpretation of the theme, and being able to reposition the towers ended up creating some really fun / frantic situations trying to get the dice in a good position when I was about to die.
A bit more control over the direction of the dice might be good (e.g. with the cursor) but that's a minor nitpick. The difficulty at the beginning was nice - but it begins to taper off a bit as you progress.
I really enjoyed playing this, great job!
Were you aware that you could use diagonal throws and bounce off of walls to hit areas not otherwise possible? Thank you for playing and we are glad you had so much fun with it!
That was a lot of fun! It took a second for me to get used to it, but after that little bit it was one of my favorite games of the jam! I almost died at the very start, and have around 1 health, but I got a bunch of sixes eventually and I think I set up a defense that won't ever lose.
Really good job!
Thank you so much, if there was one thing we were confident in here it was definitely the fun factor. Great comeback by the way, the 6 tower can be super effective if it lands near the path!
Really well-designed game, love the mechanics they feel very thought out and deliberate. From the dice interacting with enemies and having to dodge enemies yourself. A very unique twist on the tower defense gameplay. Great Job!
Thanks for playing!
Really smart concept. I would have liked to have control over the direction the dice is throw. I think being able to modify the powers for each side of the dice can be a cool addition if you plan on developing it further. Overall the game is solid!
You can control the throw by moving your character in the direction you want it to go!
Love the concept. My only issue was that controlling the cursor felt really imprecise and jumpy, which made it hard to avoid running into enemies in a way that was more frustrating than deserved. It probably would have been fine, but since it cost coins every time you hit one, it compounded that frustration. It was also really easy to lose track of the cursor, making it even more likely to run into an enemy by accident. Still, the dice mechanics were really neat and I'd love to have more ways to interact with them, like getting upgrades and perhaps having different types of towers that you can put on each face of a die.
Could you explain what you meant by "having different types of towers that you can put on each face of a die"? Each face of the die already is a distinct tower with different abilities than other faces so what did you mean?
Just like being able to modify what you get when you roll like a six. Maybe that's just upgrading the effectiveness of that tower, or something like Circadian Dice, where you modify the entire face to do different things.
We did have an idea for leveling up your towers when you roll pairs, but we didn't have time to implement it for the jam!
Very cool concept! I like how you can change what towers you get and where it goes. It was a bit annoying when you bump the cursor into the enemies, but overall a very good game.
Thanks for playing! We wanted to add a little more risk and engagement to the player running around.
Love the art and music, and the game is really fun! I do think it's a little too hard to get the die to the right place, but it's not too much of a problem. Great work!
Thanks for playing! We wanted a little randomness in the tower location rolling in order to keep things lively!
Overall pretty fun and creative! Only complaint is it can sometimes be difficult to place the dice where you want it which can end up being frustrating.
Thanks for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed it!
Fun game! I really enjoyed how when you moved the dice it rolled them. Made it a bit chaotic, but also super fun. Great work!!
Chaos was (part of) the goal! Thanks for playing!
As not a huge tower defense fan generally, I think this was really enjoyable due to multiple clever mechanics going on.
The fact that you could move the pieces around fits the theme well and adds a lot more strategy than you'd normally have in a TD game. And because moving them also "rolled" them, you were able to see all the different types of attacks really rapidly.
At first I thought the throwing was a bit annoying in that it was hard to place, but once I got a hang of it, and realized that you could make some really satisfying bank shots (especially nice when you got it to bounce between the top wall and enemies in the top row). And the fact that you could bounce it off other dice made it even more interesting.
I do wish I could have gotten coins a bit more easily, as I would have loved to get to that point where the screen is just going crazy with attacks and the enemies are melting, but balance like that can be really tricky in jam games.
Art and audio was also really crisp. Great job!
Thanks for playing and the feedback, glad you enjoyed it! Balance was something we were definitely tweaking a lot up until the last minute. Some coin-sucking gravity for the player would be a good addition to help with grabbing them. With a little practice you can definitely get to that screen-filled state, though we didn't have the time to implement the waves getting absolutely insane.
Im kinda amazed at how fun this was to play, i really like td games and i loved how you used the dice theme, all the actions and movement feel smooth and well thought out and its really easy to get into. 10/10, hope more people can find this game
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for playing!
We really appreciate the praise, thank you for playing and commenting!
That was pretty great, love pretty much every part of it, I'm definitely a sucker for tower defense games. Only think I would say it getting the dice to be where you want them is tough, and the difficulty curve is high. I had a fun time playing this!
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for playing! With a bit more practice the game gets easier :P Would have loved to be able to implement difficulty levels, but that's a jam game for you
Love throwing the dice at enemies instead of just placing a tower. Nice work!
Thanks for playing!
