Okay WOW. Very impressed with what you've cooked in just 2 weeks. Love the 3d model, controls were solid, gameplay is pretty fun.
Personal preference, but I think I'd like it more if it isn't about hitting the stains but just avoiding them. I love zipping through the level and doing all the badass parkour (for the beef), so having to stop and hit every enemy, especially when they are not really in your path, kinds of breaks the flow.
If hitting every enemy is a must, I think it would be nice to at least have invincibility to the enemy projectiles when dashing, since dodging is not really possible when dashing halfway.
Great job! Thanks for making this!

My pearl! This is amazing! Look the feel of you zoop around with Gigi punch! Kinda reminded me of Neon White, could see this develop into a full game. Some minor nit picking is the camera seems to be a bit wonky at times (maybe that I'm playing on the web browser version?) and the enemy bullet tracking somehow oddly kind of predict where I'm going somethings.
Other than that, radical game!
If it wasn't for the comments in this page, I wouldn't have figured out I can take down the enemies by crashing into them.
I was avoiding them thinking they would hurt me like the projectiles and I got stuck at the first section thinking there was some kind of secret way to clear the extra long jump. I kid you not, I tried that jump over 10 times before I was done with the game and about to give my rating and write a comment here.
After reading the comments and going back into the game, I managed to reach the artifact but couldn't make it out as I was already tired and spent way longer than scheduled playing this entry.
I liked the 3d models and the environment, as well as the challenging parkouring.
Improvement suggestions:
- A little more hints about what to do would be very useful. Just a little text in the corner saying "Defeat all enemies to continue" would help.
- Maybe include in the game instructions that boosting into enemies defeats them.
- Add more feedback when killing an enemy. A distinctive sound effect of visual effect would help tons when you're zooming around and have little time to check if you did or didn't hit that last enemy you flew by.
Solid game.
It can be really frustrating when the enemy AI shoots towards where the player is going to be and not where they actually are because in some situations the attacks will be un-dodge able
. Other than that even though I died a ton, it was a really fun game!
Hi Rusu!
How ya doing!
Pretty cool game you got here! I think it is one of the most mechanically coherant games I played so far. Every mechanic fits well and is tuned to work with the levels. The level design teaches players mechanics well and forces players to use each mechanic properly.
I will say though that I did get stuck since I didn't realize you were supposed to kill all the enemies in the indoor section. So something giving feedback on that can be helpful.
I am also.... very .... very bad at this game. And I can't seem to tell why. As you know, other people were able to quickly pick this up and make a lot of the mechanics given. I can see the potential of all the mechanics but can't seem to wrap my hand around it.
I THINK that one thing that messes me up are the enemy attack patterns. I cannot be quite sure but I think there is some random offset that the enemies will miss by. This actually messes me up a bit since I sometimes get hit by stray bullets. And sometimes tactics I try work, and other times it doesn't. If that is the case, I think it may be better to reduce difficulty in a predictable way such as making enemies be more accurate but fire slower, or increasing the punch hitbox. I think for a skill focused game like this, making sure everything is as consistent and predictable as possible is important. If I am wrong then maybe there is a conveyance issue instead where I just could not figure out the attack pattern of the enemies.
Otherwise, I think this is a great game concept. It's what I think is fairly ideal as far as a Holomem game goes, as this game showcases Gigi doing her abilities best, doing something particular to her. And the tightness of this game concept is something to be proud of.
This was really fun. Launching Gonathan around with the gauntlets was really satisfying. I also really like how it had 3 clear phases; the platforming, the fighting, the escape.
This was a blast to play! It was tough getting a hang of the controls at first but once I did, it was super satisfying going from jump to jump and wall to wall. I love the whole last third of the game the most. I only wish GG had more lives to get used to the controls a bit more in the beginning without too much of a punishment. Amazing game!
Nice game but also too frustrating for me (As I'm bad with this kind of games).
As others pointed out I would like for your attack to block/destroy the projectiles. Also I thing Coyote time would improve the gamefeel.
Still a really nice game and good work for 2 weeks, keep at it!
I really love these kinds of games that give you a lot of movement tech, and then hand you a ridiculous challenge. It reminds me of Celeste a little bit. The movement is really fun to play with, and the fact that the stains can track you while your running is sick! Forces you to switch up your approach to certain jumps. I think you did a really good job with this one!
Pretty nice and challenging game and as someone else mentioned, it DOES remind me a bit of ghostrunner xD
Nontheless, there are still a few things I would like to point out since these kinda made the gameplay a bit whacky:
- Depending on where gigi is currently standing, sometimes i do wanna just launch straight forward, but its really hard to aim since gigi blocks the whole view. What you could do is that the camera zooms in besides gigi to give the player a little more view of where they aim
- I had no issues with the stains oneshotting you, but later on after reclaiming the artifact there were quite a big number of stains on the way back which were over time more annoying than challenging. you can't possibly keep track of every single bullet and everything also one-shotting you WILL frustrate players over time. My recommendations would be either reducing the number or making that if you dash into a direction, you block/destroy bullets in front (you still can be hit from sides, behind or somewhere else)
that also brings me to the next issue which happened quite frequently. Blocking/destroying Bullets would fix this instantly though. And thats the frequency of the attacks from the stains correlated to your launch speed. Many times I launched myself at stains and last second they barely get a bullet through and since i was in front of them there was no chance to evade that. This will also frustrate people if that happend frequently especially since defeating the stains is a requirement to progress further.
While I was also suggestion reducing the number of the stains in the endgame, since that would make some passages too easy I would rather increase the speed of the stains chasing you back. That would get pressure into the players and mistakes can be punishing. This would still spice up the difficuilty and make the game challenging but still fun instead of frustrating. While we aren't removing all stains but rather reducing the numbers so bullets will still come your way.
Well enough ranting I do think this game has big potential to be a solid and fun game after some polishing xD
Reminds me of Ghostrunner. It might be a bit hard to see where I'm aiming but it was a fun game.
Super solid with the game mechanics! Was super fun launching myself and running on walls!
Unfortunately couldn't figure out how to get past the first big jump. Maybe I had to kill all the stains to get a double jump crystal or something?
More check points would be nice too
Very fun! Camera turns a bit awkwardly for me, but that might be because I'm playing on trackpad and not a mouse. I love the idea of launching yourself and running on walls.
Fun game, but it's a bit annoying that stains one-shot you. Also the stains charge attacks the same time as you try to launch into them.
