I really like the look and feel of the game. Everything is smooth and works properly. The controls are responsive, and the animations look cool. The sword swing is a little slow and there's no indicator for when you get hit other than your health going down (the boss had a slight animation but was a bit hard to discern); and, the game is very short, but there's clearly a good game here.

I liked the art a lot. The gameplay was good. I liked how the puppety strings on the puppets act as a sort of health bar for the enemies. I would have liked some better indication of the puppet master's hitbox, but overall really good job!

Easily a frontrunner for winning. Only thing on the downside I can say is the puppet is very fast and can hide underneath yourself killing us quickly.

Nice game. It was quite fun to play. All the graphics looked amazing,  One minute thing is to give the boss more health or more attacks. But other than that, amazing job

Nice job! This game was quite fun to play. I liked the AI and how you had the option to choose how hard you want the game to be. I thought the movement and attack abilities all worked well. The boss was a nice touch also.

Nice work on the game! The sword attack is impressive and well-implemented. At first, I didn't know that I had a sword to attack with, I just kept running around the screen and dying, providing control instructions would be beneficial in this case. I would also suggest setting boundaries around the screen so the player won't be able to leave the playing area.

The gameplay was really good, and I liked how you implemented the theme. But I noticed there was no boundaries to the map. But I did like how you could actually finish the game and there is a rewarding congratulations theme.

The game looked really cool, and I love the art style. I also liked that the enemies would follow your character around and do damage. I think it would be cool to give the boss a health bar or maybe an animation so the player would know if they're damaging the boss enemy. Overall, I was able to tell you put a lot of work into the game, great job!

I really liked the design of the game. I thought it was nice having the varying levels of difficulity added. I also liked the design of beating the boss and getting a nice winning text.  Good Job overall!

This looked so good, loved the art. The concept of the game i feel is unique too which is cool. It was short but I do know you were planning to do more. I noticed the lil dance at the end, very cute.

I am absolutely gobsmacked by the art you've created for this.  It's beautiful.  The animation for the sword-swing is very Final Fantasy and that automatically means I [expletive deleted] love it, and the string-snipping mechanic works like a charm.

But that boss is infuriating.  WHY WON'T YOU BLEED, EYEBALL MAN?

Great artwork and boss battle. Was fun testing each difficulty and seeing how hard it got.

Amazing artwork and I really like how you had multiple levels of difficulty.

Good short boss battle. The different difficulties was a nice touch.

The game was very nice, having multiple difficulties was cool as well.  The incorporation of controlling player movement was also fun and done nicely. I tried to do something similar with player controls and its a really cool game overall.

I thought that the game had a very unique concept. I was a little confused on the controls at first, but once I figured it out it was a fun little game to play. I wish there was more of a story here though, at the end it noted the player's party. It would have been nice to see them before this boss battle, but given the time frame I understand why we weren't shown it. Great Job!

If you scroll down on the game's page, just below the area with the "run game" button, there's a bit of backstory for the game as well as the controls. Sorry that you didn't see it before playing ^^;

I thought this was fun!  The art style was really good and consistent.  The sword swing felt good and seemed to actually hit what I was swinging at, though could have been improved with some sort of an impact effect such as sound or particles just to indicate again that it worked.  That being said, the cutting of the puppet strings and the flashing of the boss upon hit were good to convey to me that I was doing something--so this is only talking about "more" rather than "at all" on the responsiveness.  I would really enjoy getting to do more with my adventuring party before/after this, but as with all game jams I realize it might have been too much to get all that.  You have a good working prototype which even includes an easy/medium/hard mode, some storyline, box for reading the controls, it's a cohesive game and looks good.

Excellent game!! I like the smoothness of how the player character moves. A restart button would be a nice addition. Also, good storyline!

I enjoyed your game, and the concept was very fantastic!!! It was good to run for the game show.

I enjoyed playing this game, and I think the concept was super creative!  I like all the artwork, the different modes of difficulty, and the fact that the game is straightforward.  I didn't really run into any bugs, but I felt like it should have been more challenging overall.  The player can simply navigate to the top of the screen and spam the spacebar to beat the game on any difficulty.  With some more ideas to make the game longer and more difficult, this could be an awesome gameplay experience.
