beautiful work! very polished. I bet you’ll rank super high.
The art was really good, especially the intro which was just amazing. The mini games were pretty fun as well, but a bit repetitive. That's what you get with a game jam though. All in all very cute game.
Had a really great time with this entry!
Short and sweet, the graphics are amazing, the use of the "4 Color Palette" made this so charming, with the dithering for shadows.
Also, seconding what everyone else is saying: the comic book style intro looks AMAZING! Excellent work :)
Amazing use of color, the intro sequence was superb! Cute little minigames as well! I would have liked to be able to cut more vines at once, but I got through in the nick of time!
We had this first, but also some problems with the cutting mini game, it was the last game to implement, can the cutting can be improved, for sure.
Our idea would be add Items in the game and something like a “machete” for cutting all vines at once.
That intro just looks incredible ! The whole visual design is great ! Great use of your color palette. You can hardly notice that there's only 4 colors in there.
The gameplay get repetive very fast and could use some variety in the number of minigames if you're planning to expand it after the jam.
Apart from that, really solid entry. Great job !
Thank you so much!
I totally agree! We had a long list of planned minigames, along with items to boost speed or hinder the beast, and the ability to choose paths at cross sections. However, being new to the engine, we ran into some hurdles that took up more time than expected, so we had to make some cuts.
Really good looking intro !
With your graphic talent, a view playing with depth—placing the pursuer in the foreground, the main character in the middle ground, and the obstacles in the background, simply adjusting the zoom level—could have been more immersive.
The sound design could surely plays a more important part to increase the tension.
The main game play based on mini games works, but surely need some variety.
Was fun to play, Well done.
Thanks for the feedback, we plan to make some more mini games, just to learn more godot.
A new Level design with that view would works great, more detailed sprites can be used … an other good view would be to put the enemy in the background and the play is running down like in some Crash Bandicoot levels, you would see the enemy coming closer.
Amazing game!
Absolutely love the art style and the cut scenes at the beginning! I found to be a little touch to play with my trackpad and I didn't realize until a few obstacles in that the dog could still get closer to me while I was at the controls screen before each mini game.
Awesome art! Wow. And fun gameplay, I would have loved to see some more minigames for the obstacles. Super cool
Thank you so much! We had plans for more minigames and a long list of ideas, but as we're new to the game engine, we ran into some hurdles that ate up a lot of our time.
The graphics are beautiful, intro is super I realy enjoyed it. The idea of minigames is indeed fun
