Pretty cool idea, I love rhythm games and I have to be very careful to not get addicted, this one would definitely get me hooked.

How does your game represent "Power"?
You play as an electron with the power to split in two as you traverse levels generated from the music. Fill your power meter to get extra points and truly SHINE. If you miss too many and let your power fall to zero, you'll lose. Electrons. Power. You get it, right?

This has all the ingredients for a great rhythm game. High skill ceiling plus very satisfying to improve at. I loved it I was trying to full combo the default song on hard, but there's a little glitch where sometimes your electrons don't join together when you release the right stick that kept messing up my combo.
Out of all the games i've played this one has the most potential to be expanded into a full game! Really well done!
This is a really cool idea that I think could be great with a little more tweaking and polish. Visually, it was hard for me to tell when I was supposed to be pushing the trigger, so I tried to rely on the beat of the music and while this mostly worked, some of the nodes seemed to be offbeat.
Good work, I hope you continue to expand on this idea.
I appreciate a rhythm game that tries to do something different. Twin stick rhythm game is something I've never seen. Definitely like the custom song uploads.
I think it would have been nice to have a more concise indicator for the trigger squares and possibly a guitar-hero-esque whammy that increases points.
Ha! I saw this comment right as I finished playing your game :) Can you elaborate on what you mean by a concise indicator for the trigger squares? And for sure, some sort of whammy or "POWER MODE" or something that you could activate for more points would have been cool. I thought about that too. Only so much time in the day unfortunately. Thanks for trying it out!
Ah. When the circle indicator appears, it means you're lined up and you just have to time your input, which you can use the circle indicator to do. When it turns red, you can hit the trigger and you're guaranteed a hit, but if you can get it when the circle closes you'll be perfect. I fully recognize that it's not an ideal solution by any means. I need to see if I can figure out something better.
Probably one of the hardest games of the jam I've played. Enabling triggerless mode definitely helped to enjoy it more.
Fun to try out with your own songs although it didn't seem overly affected by the song.
This was harder to master, but in terms of a rhythm game, I'm very impressed. The use of twin-stick was well incorporated and the music was great too. The game was also visually pleasing while being simplistic, nothing was out of place. Good job!
Very cool game with the usage of twin stick controls to allow for both multi-colored targets and single color targets. The inclusion of custom songs is what always feels like it makes or breaks a rhythm game, so it's good to see its inclusion here.
A great concept for a Rhythm Game! Definitely worth exploring further.
What I liked:
- The Splitting mechanic
- How the squares showed the beat!
- The organic controls, felt natural
What I'd tweak:
- The Electron should turn white for a second when the player hits the Shoulder Button, giving them feedback of their button press!
- Change the Timing Circle to a different color, that red made think me I did something wrong a few times. Changing it's opacity to a brighter white would work!
- Trigger mode (Where I didn't have to press) Should be practice mode! It takes away from the challenge other wish.
- Maybe have the camera a bit higher so you can see more squares coming.
- I'd change how much Power I lost if I missed. It felt like I really didn't have to worry about missing too much.
What I'd add:
- Different Electron Color options! Just a fun add, you would be able to select colors of the split mode and the color when they are fused is those colors are fused.
- Adding spikes or some sort of obstacle that damages your power. Think like beat saber! Could have spikes and obstacles lol
An impressive game that more should try out! I enjoyed controlling the electron splitting even though some of them I wasn't terribly good at lol
the fact you can upload any song you want is impressive in itself! great work!!
Very cool game I like the feel of it I wish it was a bit harder but overall very Powerful of a game.
I am the current world record holder for my buddy Larry's unreleased bandcamp EP, triggerless% medium difficulty. I also got a B rank on the Yu-Gi-Oh theme song. This is really cool and really impressive, nice work.
Pretty unique concept! Not sure I've played a rhythm game quite like this :D
Keyboard support would be appreciated. It this controller only or am I dumb?
This game is so mesmerizing! I'm finally getting a handle on the controls too! The level generation is so cool! It feels like one of those Rhythm games that could take off after the right amount of polish!
