Top-notch game with an awesome presentation, sounds are amazing, the gameplay is tight and fun, patterns are well telegraphed. Everything just feels right. Stellar work devs!

Very glad to see the art is your own, as La Creatura is positively disgusting, as disgusting as it is hyped to be, so I was praying for it to have the look you wanted for it.

The wheel being of your design makes the wheel gimmick quite manageable and fun, out of all the ones I've played with such gimmicks, this is the one that gave me less friction in how I want my experience to be.

But the boss designs were a little weird next to each other, and I couldn't truly get the setting from them. Ninja girl in particular really looks lost here. 2nd Phase of La Creatura is terrible since you can't aim up or down in the game. Even a 45 degree angle would be be enough for at least the spread shooter to be more reliable against it.

Developer

Thanks and I'm glad you liked it.
About the ninja girl not fitting in, story wise she arrived to the station form opposing faction just a bit before you. Sadly we run out of time to implement good dialog system to have more story bits.

Oh, that explains it enough for what I thought was odd to no longer be there. I really was thinking becoming a ninja was supposed to be a mutation. Thank you for clearing it up!

I liked the idea of spinning inventory, gameplay is fun. Although it's is not my type of games, since i'm very bad at them, i mean i'm good at receiving all projectiles in my face.  Didn't find any critical flaws. Gameplay is dynamic, controls are well made.

It's really cool how much attention was put to narrative here, gives every fight a real feeling of intrigue as you try to piece together how these completely different bosses mesh into the grander scope of your mission. The game's world is super cleanly presented with the art and music, and the boss design was really fun to get the hang of. Well with the exception of the robot's untelegraphed laser barrage, I'd always get blindsided by it because there's just no wind-up whatsoever. Had to stay at the very back for the entire fight just for that attack alone which made grenades absolutely useless. But the fact that I had to rework my strategy for a specific attack really shows the breadth of the boss design here so great work!

Really good game!! I love the art, the use of the theme, and the boss fights were really fun!!
And you can really see the potential for a great game with more weapon variety!!
Great submission!!

Good game. I have skill issues. I can't beat the first boss after so many tries.

Love the name of your game and thumbnail, its why I clicked it! Playing through your game felt very cozy. It reminded me of exploring flash games on newgrounds and also duck game. The wheel of weapon randomization is a great way to keep player approaches to combat fresh. Adding more over the top weapon variety to the wheel could be a good way to make the game more action packed.

Cool stuff. The random weapon switching is unique and a fun way to approach the 'spin'

great work on this! did a play through and fought each of the bosses. definitely engaging and fun though! would love to see more weapon options and things added for more customizable options. i do wish i could shoot whatever direction my mouse was pointing sometimes but i imagine that's just how you worked out the gameplay and balance.

Really liked the use of the theme here, the swaping weapons mechanic was really well implemented, and the art and boss design was great, If I have to say something is that maybe the bosses felt a bit to unpredictable at times and some attacks done at the same time were a bit difficult to dodge, maybe with less cooldown on the roll would be better, but anyways overall a great experience! Cheers :D

I really like the rotating weapons mechanic. The fact that the shooting direction is based on move direction took a bit to used to though (probably I'm used to play games that aim with mouse)

Developer

Thanks!
We did consider aiming with mouse but that would make it harder for controller support.

The gameplay surprisingly has a lot of depth. The rotating arsenal is a fun mechanic when it's balanced well, which it is here, and lastly, the bosses are pretty fun. Great job!

Thanks!

Well done and onboarding the game was straightforward. It has good and responsive controls.

This game is so well made! The controls are straightforward, and the boss designs are challenging but fun! Really enjoyed it, looking forward to its development! Well done and congrats!

Pixel games are not really my type, but your game seemed really well made. I also loved the different boss mechanics. Pretty consistent vibe all around. I think the weapon system was a bit overwhelming, as you get all these items right at the start. Well done, keep it up!

Would love it if you play and review my submission, thanks!

Glad you enjoyed it! We had ideas for weapon unlocks but couldn't figure it out on time so this was next best option.

Will see your game too.

Cool entry, we had a similar take on the theme but a very different approach :)

Loved the visuals and the narrative, congratulations!!!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Really enjoyable game :)

This games looks and plays so good! I'll be looking forward for the post jam update! I love the weapon wheel mechanic, and the visuals and theme are also outstanding! The music is also very cool, but the balance between the SFX and music levels could use some tinkering. Congratulations to the whole team!

Hey, I had a great time playing this game. At one point, I think I forgot I was playing a game jam :D

The weapon wheel mechanic works perfectly. And the bosses are difficult, though not unplayable. Each one took me about 5 or 6 attempts. I really enjoyed learning the patterns and finding a strategy in my choice of weapon to defeat them.

I think my ultimate build was: 3 multi-bullet cannon, 1 5HP heal, and again 3 multi-bullet cannon, 1 5HP heal.

So well done to the whole team for a great game :D

Thanks for playing and enjoying the game!
There were many redesigns to fulfill part of our vision and meet time constraint.
After play testing for all this time I couldn't tell if bosses are hard on not because I know them too well. Glad it turn out ok :)
