Game's Take on the Theme
You are a nut, stuck inside the route of a bolt, and could only move by spinning yourself. The bolt, the room itself is the Master system OS, and the boss of this game. Defeat the Master OS and let yourself free from the system.
Did your team make the majority of the art and music during the jam?
Some portions(maybe one of two) of SFX are from pixabay, others are made by myself

The visuals on this are really cool and the music is hard af. I also like the 'underwater' effect on the music when you take damage.
I also like your take on the theme but I was a bit confused on how to dodge alot of the attacks as I found myself just going down the bolt until I hit the bottom and then swapping direction. Although I guess thats just a downside of having this spinning mechanic. Overall though its pretty good!
Nice game, but I have some criticism. I'll start with the positives:
I had fun trying to dodge all the obstacles with the limited movement options, the theme is incorporated in an extremely original way, the music is catchy and the visuals are very good, even if it's just 2 colors, they really fir the theme. The boss is very original!
Now, the criticism:
The attacks seem pretty random and there isn't a real way to dodge all of them consistently: I often found myself in situations where it was impossible to dodge all obstacles (mines above and below, missiles coming from the sides, and even if I dodged all of them, a piston would've crushed me). Really gives a "world against you" feel but maybe it's a bit too much sometimes.
The dash is a bit strange: I noticed it is less of a "dash" and more like a "momentary speed boost"? Great to dodge incoming fast obstacles, but the increased velocity could mess up a precision movement right after.
The main strategy I found most effective was that of going up and down and praying there were no mines when going up or down from the bottom or top.
As for suggestions, maybe I would've liked a way to parry/shield some of the incoming attacks? I don't know if it would make sense, but a bit more agency would've been a nice addition.
With this, I hope these observations could be useful if you want to update the game! It seems really cool and an amazingly original concept overall! :D
I'm just a nut spinning up and down a bolt with an action soundtrack.
Big fan of the sound and visuals but I'm not sure if there is strategy to this game and it's very difficult to win. Nonetheless, I spent a good 10 minutes going up and down the bolt enjoying the music and being nuked by 8 missiles.
Oh! The art direction (especially the VFX) is incredible, and the OST is cool. But I don't know... the concept isn't bad, but the execution, on the other hand, didn’t quite work for me. Still, you did a great job fitting the theme. GG! ❤
Very striking visuals, I like the simple black and red color scheme, and the attacks the OS throws at you are cool, especially the big pistons.
Though the game feels like there isn't much strategy to it, whether or not you get hit seems mostly luck dependent, or maybe I'm missing something idk.
The premise is sick though. I like the idea of a boss that destroys itself trying to kill you, and the music fits it well :)
