It was great to go like a top! I had nothing left to do but bounce and hit everything in my path. It felt like an idle boss rush!
And the art is really cute (except for that last boss, who's really worrying^^).
In short, bravo!
Game's Take on the Theme
Player must use a spin attack to bounce off obstacles and hit the boss! She may even spin infinitely due to a bug. More spin!
Did your team make the majority of the art and music during the jam?
Yes
Reject humanity, become beyblade. Cute artstyle, cute music, got to live my beyblade fantasy. Great entry. Slash felt a little slow, and it's probably not a good thing to just be completely okay to idle as a beyblade even if it was extremely hard not to giggle at the boss dying while I bounce all over the place not strategizing at all.
Great music and spritework! There definitely needs to be some tuning on the spin attack, the first two bosses I just pressed spin once and watched like an old DVD display lol. The gnome needed some thought though (very Gravity Falls of you!).
I played without abusing the infinite spin. The game is fun! Not sure if that was the original idea, but maybe making the spin extend its duration only when hitting something boss-related could be a good tweak. Also, it would be nice if the "aim" got canceled when releasing the right button, so it only aimed while holding it. The game's art is beautiful, good job
Very cute game! I really enjoyed the art. I think this game would have definitely benefited from some extra sfx, vfx, hit stops, slight screen shake, etc. With all that, I think this game would be pretty good!
Great game, the art is by far the best part. Cute style
Love the take on the theme! It's very satisfying to pull off multiple hits on the boss when you align yourself just right. It would also be interesting to see different obstacles that produced different effects onto the player when they make contact. (ex. bounce physics, changes in velocity, etc.) My only critiques would be to adjust the range of the slashing ability and potentially update the sprite to better visually convey this new range to the player. I found myself hardly using it with how difficult it was to judge were my hits were landing and the small payoff it had when doing so.
Really pretty. I love the artwork. great music.
Movement felt inconsistent to me. sometimes I would move in a direction and it would snap to it, while other times it would take a second to start going in the desired direction.
The left click feels too precise for how little reward you are given, but the spin move is pretty awesome. I really enjoyed hitting the bosses multiple times with one spin.
very nice art! I think other comments have commented on this but I beat the entire game by just using the tornado thing, like I just let the character spin around and hit the bosses. It would be very cool to play this game with the tornado balanced, since I did enjoy the art very much.
I loved your game! The tornado idea is very good! I think what I can say is maybe balance the tornado's usage time because in the second boss I was able to kill him without literally doing anything, I just turned into a tornado and the game played by itself, even though I ended up liking it, maybe it would be solved if the tornado's energy decreased faster over time, making it inevitable that it would run out at some point! Congratulations on your game!
I was able to wipe out bosses with a single charge attack, since the charge attack makes you invincible and its duration replenishes very quickly. At first it felt cool but it got kinda boring after the first 2 bosses. Maybe make it so you can aim mid attack, can take damage while in this state and make the stage bigger. Other than that problem both artstyle and music were really cute.
Very impressive, music is captivating, especially from the moment you got the golem Boss.
Spin theme reflected perfectly. Though I didn't really get controls. I mean, at first I tried slashing bosses and projectiles, but them I literally pressed one button to start spinning around - and nobody could do me any harm, while I kill them off. So it felt more like I watch a very cool small spectacle rather than play the game. Which is still awesome and it might just be me misunderstanding something.
Great job!
Art is phenomenal, and boss design is great. Unfortunately it's technically lacking some polish and game design wise I fell like the spin attack stamina loading when you hit something makes it too easy to remain spinning forever and just wait until the boss die!
very cute art and nice visual feedback. Just missing some audio feedback on all actions.
The art in this game was fantastic! It was readable, lighthearted, dynamic, and it really set a great tone and direction for the rest of the game. I found myself sort of pinballing off of the boss a lot, the momentum-based movement is really great! Very fun, loved it!
Very charming game, I love the art! I was able to get through most bosses with ease and didn't really take care to aim my spin attack, instead opting to just wait for it to hit the boss. Other than missing a few sound effects, this is a very solid entry.
