How does your game fit the theme?
When I heard Calm before the storm, I thought of bullet hells. This is because at the start, bullet hells are simple and easy but as time progresses, they slowly increase in difficult.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I made some assets myself and some I got online. I made sure to credit the assets I got online. I mostly wrote the code myself but I used YouTube videos for things like knockback and player movement etc and also other sites like Godot documentation.

Neat game, the background is black yet its very colorful. Colored dots are all around the scenery
The shooting is good, the shoot noises is a satisfying laser zap and the enemies are fun to shoot down.
I didn't experience any extra enemy variance is there any?
The particle effects were the best visual, clouds of pink smoke from your gun, enemy exploding particles and more.
This was quick, fun and easy to get into, I got lsot in the sauce playing this and lsitening to podcasts
WOW this game was the most fun I've played so far for sure! The graphics are amazing, the particles add so much, seriously amazing work!! The only thing I'll say is I wish I could hold down the mouse button to rapid fire, my finger really got a workout! But seriously this was amazing great job
Really enjoyed the art style, really unique.
I wasn't sure when I was taking damage, so some visual feedback for that would be awesome.
Super juicy and fun.
Also found it funny how many jams you submitted the game to XD
Hahaha yeah, don't expose me. I'm just tryna get shit out there and my game fits some other jams so I was like why not. Thanks for checking out the game man :D
The game's combat mechanics are finely tuned, offering a great balance between challenge and reward.
Thank you man I appreciate the comment :D
Absolutely loved this as a concept and the gameplay loop was addicting, the controls felt amazing it felt all around extremely polished. I'd love to see some more content for the game, perhaps different upgrades as time went on to better deal with the hordes of enemies, but it was an amazing play! Great job!!
Yeah some kind of upgrade system would've been so good to add. I wish this jam was 2 weeks or somethings. Anyways thanks for checking out the game and I'm glad you liked it :)
The controls and shooting just feel right. I would like to see it be a little more difficult, and maybe some more guns/powerups. Other than that I really enjoyed playing your game, keep up the good work!
Loved The Art Work also the game was fun
This was awesome!
Nice game, i love the art style , also sshooting the enemy is satisfying and juicy .
great game in most aspects, all it was really lacking was weapon upgrades, and maybe the tougher enemies giving more points would be nice. overall nice game tho!
Noted. In hindsight, I wish I had more time where I could do some more playtesting. Thanks for checking it out :)
Controls felt good, graphics were cute, audio was good. Main thing that I didn't like was just having the one weapon with no upgrades. Otherwise solid submission!
hey man thanks for checking out the game and I'll keep your feedback in mind :) I also wish I had more time to implement more gameplay elements.
Audio and graphics were good, and the enemies seems well balanced however I would recommend making the players shooting full automatics as having it as single fire tires the fingers quickly. Furthermore, maybe make the difficulty increase faster as it felt like very little was happening.
hey man thanks for trying out the game and those are some good pointers :) I wish I had done more play testing before. Thanks again
I liked the game, and agree with most commenters, also I would suggest maybe adding invincibility frames on the dash
yeah that's a good idea. I appreciate you checking out the game.
I really enjoyed the initial cutscene! As for the gameplay, I have a couple of points:
hey man thanks for the feedback. This was my first official game jam submission after learning godot for 5 months so I was a little ambitious. I appreciate the pointers and criticisms. Yeah the enemy hp bars are a little weird but I had to prioritise other aspects. Also the game does get harder. Try reaching a score of 2500 - 3000k. There's too many enemies at that point. If I had more time, I would've polished a lot of stuff, added more guns and enemies and power ups etc. Thanks again for the feedback.
Yes for sure, I can imagine that ! It happened the same to me!
Yeah man it's tough. Ah well you live and you learn. I'll make sure to play your game when I get home.
Wow thank you! That would be great! I would really appreciate!
loved the game! made me wanna keep going!
it was a slightly different approach to roguelike shooting i havent seen before and that was cool!
the graphics design of the game was nice and overall a great game!
a little bit more variety could have made it even better.
Hey man, I'm glad you had some fun with it :D. Yeah I had a whole plan to implement more enemies and maps and difficulty levels but there's only so much I can do as a solo dev in a week. This game feels incomplete and more like a beta. Anways thanks for the comment :)
fun game, but i think that it was wayyyyy to easy in the beginning. it would be more fun if the difficulty ramped up much quicker.
Thanks for checking out the game :) if I had more time I would've worked more on the difficulty system and maybe adding easy, medium and hard difficulty levels.
Loved taking down those enemies >:D. But it was a bit too easy for me maybe adding more of a challenge would make it even better! One idea could be having weapons that do more damage but slow you down, so the player has to choose wisely for each situation. Also, adding some kind of reward for visiting specific spots on the map would encourage more strategic movement. I felt like I was just wandering around a bit, haha. Overall, though, I really enjoyed playing!
Those are some awesome suggestions, thanks for the feedback! I'll keep these in mind for the future :)
Nice job! The game has a nice art style and is intuitive to play. I really liked having the second gun option, and found myself wishing there was some sort of progression or upgrade system.
hey man thanks for trying it out and yes I wish I had more time to flesh it out as well. A progression upgrade system would've been a nice touch if I had thought of it beforehand lol. Thanks again for checking out the game.
Killing enemies felt satisfying to do!
especially when trying to line them up and pierce them with the gun
My highschore was 400 or so, an enemy spawned on top of me and killed me lol
i enjoyed playing the game ❤️
Glad you enjoyed it. I did mean to fix the enemy spawning system so that enemies spawn outside the map boundaries but I forgot, my bad lol. Thanks for checking out the game :)
