Good job. Very cool gameplay and very hard at the beginning. It feels so good to smach the aliens :)

Crazy, unique gameplay! I did tend to get stuck on large planets. Maybe lowering the friction some would make it easier to just get that tangential motion started? Really interesting ideas here!

Impressive physics. I couldn't get used to  controlling the thrusters. It was very hard for me.

Whenever I land on a planet I'm getting stuck, I barely managed to get out of the starting place. I can keep restarting whenever I hit something but it really gets annoying quickly. It's a shame because controlling that ship is actually really fun, physics here are nicely balanced (apart from that starting from a planet issue). I guess just lowering the gravitational pull would fix that?

The physics is very impressive. And despite the occasional swift acceleration, it never feels like the character is completely out of control, or that the camera is in the wrong place--well done. The visual design is also excellent, achieving absolute clarity in spite of the very limited color palette.

I would add in the instructions on the game page that, in order to provide the extra boost, you have to hold down the X key simultaneously with the Z key. It may seem obvious, but it confused the heck out of me for several minutes.

Thank you very much for your feedback! It did not occur to me how easy it is to read "A + B" as "A, then B" and not "A and B". The main page has been updated to reflect this.

I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Really fun game!

After getting to grips with the physics and movement of the ship I really enjoyed my time with this one. I found it challenging, but not frustrating. The story was cool and well told.

I like the visuals and audio for this game and found the presentation intriguing, but I question the level design choices made. While the ship is quite difficult to control, much of the game was designed apparently around the assumption that the player can change directions on a dime. It's a bummer since I otherwise do enjoy the challenge of controlling the rocket on a conceptual level.

This was really unique!  I like the soundtrack and effects.  It was really difficult for me to learn the controls and what I was supposed to do, but I'm starting to get the hang of it.

I guess the starting position has some collision issues. The first two times i launched the game i couldn't move at all and all my fuel ran out. the third time it moved but adjacent to the planet and after some movement it got off but i had a little fuel.

I'm not rating your game based on this. but i wish i could play it. seems nice in the gifs.

I freely admit: I wish I spent more time making the beginning less opaque.

1) When you run out of fuel, does text reading "R, V, or ; to retry" appear?

2) Are you able to press A and B (any combination) to activate extra thrust? If it would be more comfortable, you can go to the gameplay options and turn on "B Thrust", so you don't have to press A at the same time.

Now that i played the game...I can say...I liked floating in the space (a little too floaty but it was okay). but most of all i loved the ending!! This is the best tiny storyline in the whole jam!

Music and graphics are also great!

Thumbs up!!

5/5 everything this game was super well made.

Dang that was good. My one main critique is I'm iffy on the use of pre-existing assets. The gamejam rules did explicitly say not to use them. Was this done with permission from one of the jam hosts?

That said, I loved this as a game. It was more moody than I was expecting, and I thought the introduction of the mechanics and difficulty at the beginning was really well done. I wont spoil the game for people but I was definitely shocked and wasn't left bored with the turn of events :)

I am certain that the listed pre-made materials fall under the allowed criteria as specified by the rules.

What can I work on before the jam? You are allowed to set up your tools and your game engine. Tools include: palettes, fonts, tracker instruments and code libraries.
TextEngine :: Code Library
TextCharacter :: Font
Deltatiming / Input :: Code Library

I've included this information in the credits as a matter of full transparency. If I am incorrect about this interpretation, I will gladly accept a disqualification.

Thank you for your feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Ahh ok I didnt see that part. Its funny how it says you "can't use any premade assets" and then goes on to list assets you can actually use.

Maybe it should say "except for the assets outlined in the next paragraph" ;)

But yeah that seems pretty justified.

This was so fun, definitely my favorite game I've played of this jam so far. The gravity based game play was really addictive, and the story is really cool and leaves room for interpretation. This was a very interesting, fun and unique game.

Super solid all around, great concept and really good execution! Music, Art, and overall feel is soo Gameboy it fits perfectly. Great work!!

Submitted(+1)

Neat game, the controls are quite good. It's almost like mini putt in space or something!

Submitted(+1)

Nice game! A bit hard to control the ship for my skills, but I like the full detailed planets.

Submitted(+1)

Really liked the how the controls felt and love the art style. A lot of fun.

This is such a stellar game! The story is very artsy and leaves so much room for interpretation. It's utterly creative and very well executed! The controls have a nice weight to them! All in all, I would see this being a game that I would play for the story! It blows my mind how this was made in 10 days. Fantastic work!

I loved the game boy feel of this game! Sounds felt so nice and it's fun to use the thruster boost :)

Nice game! I really enjoyed playing it, although an introduction to the planets pulling you might have been nice. But besides that, it was extremely well made and fun to play!
