That was pretty spooky!  I personally like the more upbeat type of games but I think people who like the darker side of games will enjoy this.  I can certainly appreciate the clever gravity mechanic -- nice work!

Developer

Thanks @SweetAppleGames for trying it out :D

I liked this game. There were a few places where it felt like the controls were missing, though.

I wish that the up/down arrows would let you walk along the walls like the left/right arrows do on the floor and ceiling. Using the left/right arrows on the walls is very unintuitive. I also wish that the character would face in the direction that you're walking. This would only really be relevant to the boss battle to let you aim, but it'd make you feel a lot more in control of the character.

The final suggestion I have would be to reduce the randomness of the boss. Give it some sort of behavior pattern in the way that it moves. That'd give the player an opportunity to figure out what the movement pattern is, and let them feel clever when they come up with a way to exploit that pattern to beat the boss.

@UwertaDev Thanks for playing the same and suggesting some awsome suggestions I will surely release a new version after the jam :D

This game was way too fun! The art style and overall design looks really stylish and cool, and the core mechanic of controlling gravity to zip around the screen felt great and was so fun. I enjoyed my time with this game a lot!

By the way, we played your game on our stream last night!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing the game @NiceGearGames appreciate that :D

The concept is cool and the game is quite challenging ! The idea to be able to change gravity is a good one ! It allows some really neat level design, and some awesome strategies =) ! The general "hell" design is also pretty cool, this kind of design ir pretty rare.

The only drawback is... I don't really see the relationship with the theme ^^'. You said "Join yourself with the lock to proceed further", but it's like any screen-based platformer... I don't feel like the theme had an impact on the gameplay, or maybe I'm missing something ?

Nonetheless, it's a good game, and I enjoyed playing it !

Developer

@SpicyFrog yes it looks like a platformer, although joining yourself with the lock is one of the things you are also connected to the golden lock which shows you the way, I wanted to make some story slides too but time was very less, but again I should agree that people liked it this way too as a regular puzzle platformer =D if that makes sense by the way Thanks for playing :)

Cleaver puzzles with nice aesthetic! Really good job!

Cool atmosphere, dark and calm in the same time.

Developer

@ZomorroStudio thanks for trying the game out =D

Very hard but I must say I really enjoyed it! The gameplay felt great and the visuals are very cool and different from anything else I've seen this jam. Great work! :D

Developer

Thanks @CozyCarrotCake means a lot :D

Submitted(+1)

cool idea! got some awesome art. levels are a bit hard.

Developer(+1)

@kebabulon I think I should surely reduce the difficulty but overall thanks a lot for playing :)

Submitted(+1)

Good job on completion.. Interesting gameplay. Definitely require some skill to clear this game.

Developer

@akaashG Thanks for playing man appreciate it :D

Submitted(+1)

This is the first game jam I played to completion! It was very challenging but fair, good job!

Developer

Thanks a lot for playing @SarDinah

The aesthetic is really awesome, good job! I think the main mechanic was fun and you did a great job ramping up the difficulty over the course of the game. The boss was still too hard for me to beat though.

Developer

Thanks @treesarefood for trying the game I agree the boss is a little too tough to handle.

I'm a sucker for puzzle platformers with lots of spikes. Very disorienting to keep track of which direction moves you left or right, but satisfying nonetheless. Nice job!

Developer

Thanks @atolbertsmith for trying the game :)

I agree, maybe a screen relative control fits better in this game. However, Unlock is a must try in this Jam!

Submitted(+1)

Nice job! I liked the twist of being able to transform gravity in any directions. Lots of games just have you switch it back and forth between up and down, so that made solving puzzles a little more interesting. Especially with how the enemies reacted slightly differently to the changes than the player. Also the music was cool, kinda reminded me of Silent Hill-ish. Only wish is up and down moved me when I was on the walls instead of left and right still since that took my brain a second to get oriented, haha. Good job on the game!

Developer

Hey @EricFreeman thanks for playing the game, I will keep that in mind and try to add those controls too :D

Submitted(+1)

Cool game, really like the idea of playing as a key! It's a fun twist

Developer

Thanks for trying it out @mvann :)

Really like the spooky aesthetic of it and the audio is great. I agree with GalloPinto's comment on using up and down when on the walls being more intuitive as that's what my hands would try to do without me thinking whenever I got invested, haha! Puzzles are great and love that there are multiple solutions. If I had to give any critique, I'd say give the player the tiniest bit more time to get comfortable with one mechanic/enemy before introducing a new one. Overall, great experience!

Developer

Yes I agree with you, probably I should have added some more simple and different levels before Introducing any other enemy, and yes I will keep that in mind to add up and down arrow as alternatives controls, thank you very much for playing @rtrtist :D

Submitted(+1)

Awesome game! I loved the fact that have a final boss (I wanted to include that on my game) The art is really cool, music is nice but lets be real you might as well put some metal music on this xD. The gravity mechanic is cool an responsive. Only a couple of criticisms, I personally think that we you are on the walls you should be able to control with up and down instead of the side arrows, is more intuitive and the player character is a little too simple compared to the bad guys, I will follow you on twitter to check the progress on this project, great job!

Developer

Thanks a lot @GalloPintoGames I will add up and down arrows to the controls as well, I am probably thinking to make it a mobile game what do you think

Submitted

Cool! making it mobile is definitely the way to expand the reach to everyone, are you thinking like tilting the phone to change gravity?  that would be cool, maybe you can test with that feature to see if its fun : )

Submitted(+1)

I really like the art style and overall atmosphere of your game and I think it has a lot of effort put into it. I think the controls make it a bit harder than it needs to be, walking on the left wall was a bit irritating. I really like that you included a boss battle at the end, although the random movement combined with the gravity switching made it a bit unforgiving. Good game, especially presentation-wise!

Developer

Hey @bluemeerkat thanks for the kind comments, I want some suggestions on the controls how do you think I can make it easier / better?

Submitted(+1)

Maybe it is just me, but I had a bit of trouble on the left wall, since the movement keys are "swapped" i.e. when I press "left" the character moves right (relatively speaking). The right wall and the ceiling made sense.

I think you could also play a bit with the gravity of the player character. It accelerates slowly when falling whereas moving left/right is instantaneous. So maybe make the character react a bit faster to the change of gravity?

All these things don't really matter in the first few "puzzle"-levels but they become more important when you are running away from enemies. The enemies also feel much more mobile than the player, maybe they could wait a bit before they change direction?

Developer

@bluemeerkat I got it many people told me that controls a little bit confusing actually I intentionally made them like that, it does not matter whether you are on left wall or right wall when evev you will press left arrow it will take you down same goes for the right arrow this same concept also applies on the down and same goes for the ceiling and floor, actually its probably my falt I should have wrote it somewhere on the game do you think it should be changed let me know.

Submitted(+1)

Very well polished game. This feels like something that I could find on the google/app store. I really enjoy this one. Good job!

Developer

Thanks, @AmyHyruleHero for trying it out, I would surely look into that ;)

Submitted(+1)

totally love the art and gameplay and music! this is the highest rated game by me:)

i think it has very good educative first levels that teach you how to do things, big plus

maybe it would be more interesting to make balance to more to the side of 'puzzle' component instead of steering, but don't mind that, it's just a suggestion in case you plan make something bigger out of this game:)

Developer(+1)

thanks, @ana.merzlaya I glad you liked it, many people told me that controls are a little confusing, do you think so? If yes I would love to hear how can I make it better :) would love to hear some suggestions from your side.

Submitted(+1)

no, don't worry, i think it wasn't difficult, somehow for me it was quite easy to adjust (actually usually i have problems when something is done in unusual way)

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Oh ok, I got it @ana.merzlaya I think I should add some very simple level so that player could get a hang of it, btw thanks. I saw your other work on Instagram you are indeed a great artist keep it up :)

Submitted(+1)

oh, thanks a lot, but actually i am not an artist, just hobby during weekends:)

Submitted(+1)

Very Challenging! The boss was a really bad ass! The graphics are simple but great! Maybe, have you tried adjust the move control with the gravity change? Maybe it can give the player more control about the character. And last, how do I get the theme Joined Together with this?

Developer

@NickyKendy yes I tried it out, I thought making the keys separate will give much more control over the player.

Theme: You are the key. Join yourself with the lock to proceed further.

Btw thanks for trying the game out :D

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

Couldn't make it throuh the boss, too challenging :D
Generally, everything is well polished. I love how intimidating the ambience is! Great entry!

Developer

@idlebum Thanks for playing the game means a lot :)
