I was the artist on the thumbnail painting, thank you so much for playing our game!

My pleasure, I hope you have some time to play mine. And maybe someday we could team up for another jam.

I liked the concept very much! The atmosphere was great and the monster sprites really helped it.

Great work!

Cool game.

1, The enemies spawn too fast.

2, I don't like It when I am forced to pick an upgrade when I save a canary.

Besides those, cool game.

I would be very happy if you would play my game.

Nice concept. It is a little similar to my game, by having only small light and traveling with it around. I liked when you're moving with the light you can't shoot. But when I wanted to start shooting it takes some time and I didn't know if it was because something is bad, or I just need to wait for a while. Maybe add some animation of preparing to shoot, so player can understand what is happening.

But overall good game with nice mechanic.

Oh my, 10 people in the team ? Damn ^^ !

Nice game ! The base mechanic embraces the theme perfectly (with some "Final Fantasy Cristal Chronicles" vibes), and the game is really enjoyable to play ! The gameplay is cool, it's a good shooter with a lot of neat features =). My only complain about the controls is that either the character is a bit too slow (even with the upgrade) or the maps are too big.

The upgrade system is a really nice addition ! However, I upgraded my damage from something like 4 to 5, and the next bird wanted me to upgrade from 2 to 3... Is that a bug, or do I misunderstand something ?

The music is really cool ! Is it dynamic ? Maybe it's my imagination, but I think I heard some variations here and there ^^.

The visuals are pretty good, the character is cute (but maybe a bit pixelated in game. Maybe the original sprite needs to be resized to avoid compression ^^ ?) and the light effect is really nice !

Overall, that's a really solid entry, congratulations to the team ! I would love to play a more polished version, with more diverse levels, weapons and feature =p !

Musician here; good catch! The electronic instruments and percussion fade in when enemies get close by and fade out once they’ve been defeated.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the game!

Nice game! We had a similar idea! One thing I would like to change is the movement speed of the player while connecting with the torch; it's a little slow for me. But good game overall!

Surprisingly deep game for the time it was made in! Cool little idea you've got on your hands here, would love to see this get polished up with a proper release.

Nice job! This was fun and had a bunch of mechanics that meshed together really nicely! I loved that you could only drag your light or shoot. At one point I thought myself so clever that I would just use the minimap to orient myself in the dark, pick up the chicks and move on but realized then that I couldnt shoot without my light! Nice touch that you get to level something up when you save someone. But the movement was definitely very tediously slow with the light, and it took a long time to shoot through rocks. Tuning those 2 numbers would make a huge difference. Overall I really liked it though!

You managed to put a lot of features in this game ! The concept is really cool, and the shooting mechanic is quite well made. I like the idea of having to choose between having light and shooting, it's quite reminiscent of the gameplay of Doom 3 :)

To make things a bit less tedious I think you could have increased a bit the speed when pulling the light, it takes way more time than necessary to progress in the levels. Or maybe you could have increased the speed bonus you get with upgrades, it felt quite weak currently. But that's just nitpicking, other than that it's a pretty solid entry !

I see the appeal, it's nicely done too, but man, that's a lot of monsters.

It was really cute and original. I loved the art and the music! At some point, I thought I would be smart and just shoot in the dark and hope to hit all the monsters but I ended up shooting a wall for 3 minutes straight haha. Great work!

What a charming little title! Astounding art and really nice gameplay! I think it could be a little more expanded or kept only one floor short. Because without introducing any other mechanic going through other floors is just doing the same thing over and over again, so I stopped at the second floor thinking I saw everything :D

Super fun, and super beautiful! I love how the game incorporates upgrades. I thought the character could move faster with the light to make the game feel less grindy/quicker-paced. But overall, loved it.

I liked the sound effects and over all polish of the game. Really impressive for only 48 hours! It was satisfying shooting the light and the walls and I liked how the enemies make noises and I think the purple ones glow so you know they are coming. The only thing I found during the later floors is that you are moving the light but then enemies come. You defeat them and a couple seconds later more enemies come and the cycle repeats a lot and could be a bit tiring and repetitive. Adding a bit more variety would be cool but to include a map, polish, upgrades, breakable walls, and all that stuff is amazing for the jam!

I enjoyed the game, great presentation and I like the concept. I think a few numbers need to be changed around though like the movement speed when tethered is a bit too slow and the upgrade system was confusing to me as it seemed like I could have downgraded on purpose?

I love the overall feel of this game. The heavy music and dark screen really make you understand how deep you are underground, and that there are dangers in the shadows around you.

(and, about the fact that you play as a bird with a gun... I don't understand why. But I really dig into it!)

Very good job!

Very original and loved the graphics!

I thought the idea was pretty neat! That being said, I thought the movement while carrying the light around was a bit too slow, and, to me wether I wanted to move the light or shoot the enemies didnt feel like much of a choice (if there are enemies near, unequip and shoot, if you wanna keep going, equip and move) which did make the gameplay feel somewhat dull. The artstyle is really great though :)

Really nice! The light vs weapon management is a great design. Felt the light was a bit too heavy to carry and the bird couldn't move fast enough, but the idea was so good that I kept going further and further into the caves. Nice upgrade system!

It was fun but a lot of frustration!!!
