really cool and tricky game i liked it a lot!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for playing!
I really dig the mechanics, really well made. Good job! :)
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Interesting concept. From a mechanics perspective, the game is quite good. If you improved the visuals, you'd have a great puzzle game here.
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I think what takes this game above the other similar entries in the jam is the level design. Really good puzzles. Simple and well executed, great entry.
Thank you, this is actually the first time making puzzles, so I'm really glad to hear that you enjoyed them! Thank you for playing!
The game play is pretty fun. This is a very addictive puzzler that leaves you satisfied after you've completed it. The main menu has a few bugs, but its still fun over all.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, thank you for playing!
That was fun! After the tutorial levels, the difficulty really cranked up, I enjoyed it! If you move where you can't, like into a wall, it still consumes a move, which is odd. But rapid retry basically negates any frustration with that! Level 8 was the only one I felt myself under any real time pressure, ended up getting that one at my exact last move.
I'm really glad you enjoyed it! I'm glad those issue didn't impact your enjoyment much, it's definitely something I'll be revisiting after voting is over!
The puzzles/overall game rules are really cool and there is some really challenging stuff in there. The visuals are clean and nice and overall it's just great, plus I'm a sucker for any puzzle game where you move in tiles (chips challenge fans wya?)
I'm glad you like it! Grid based movement is something a keep gravitating towards (maybe because I never quite get it right, and want to perfect it). Thank you for playing!
You've made a really fun and innovative puzzle mechanic here, I've had a lot of fun with it. Despite the graphics being serviceable the gameplay is designed very well. I like how you taught the player throughout the levels and slowly introducing new mechanics, and then testing them with some tough puzzles. Speaking of the puzzles, they're well designed and they really require you to think a bit.
My only suggestions would be just quality of life things, like adding sound effects and music, animations, etc. But it's a jam game, and it's fine that those things are missing as long as the concept is there. There also seems to be a bug where the 'about' button also takes you to the level select.
This is great work! I hope this continues to do well in the jam.
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! There's definitely a few QoL things I want to add in the future (and some menu bug fixes lol). I'm particularly glad to hear you liked the puzzles, I've never really designed any before, so hearing you say that they're good makes me really happy!
Nice concept, liked it! Leads to very interesting puzzles. Agree that it would be nice if you win automatically once you’re in the right position, without the need to press space. By the way, on one of the levels I arrived at the finishing position using my last available move (i.e. there were 0 moves left) and the game automatically proceeded to the next level (without me hitting space) - maybe there’s a bug? Some sounds & background music would be nice. Anyways, fun game, good job!
I'm really glad you like it! Thank you for playing! Automatic goal checking, sound, and music are for sure all things I'd like to address in the future :)
Nope, not a bug, that's exactly what it was supposed to do! When the game checks to see if you failed, it checks to see if you're on the goal first, I figured it'd be pretty infuriating to reach the goal within the amount of moves, and still fail
Really challenging levels and I loved trying to solve some of them. I think if you wanted to continue working on this, bug fixes and polish on the visuals and UI would be all that's needed to turn this from a really impressive game jam game to a really impressive puzzle game. I agree with some other commentators that the level-win mechanic should be more of an instant type of thing.
I'm really happy to hear you enjoyed it! I'm definitely keeping track of the bugs/tweaks people suggest to polish it after voting ends. Thank you for playing!
Really fun game, I'm not sure if you are using physics based movement or something, because the squares got caught on some surfaces on one level. Either way, works fine for the most part, very cool!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! The movement is physics based, which, in hindsight, isn't ideal. Definitely something I'll look into tweaking after voting ends!
This was really fun :)
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Great game mechanics, it's really fun!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it
This puzzle game is A-MA-ZING! It's the best puzzle game I've rated so far. I really hope to see it in top 100. The core mechanic is so interesting and allows for great puzzles! Kudos to the designer! And it hits the theme spot on! I've had a lot of fun playing the game. There are a few minor critiques, or small improvements if you may(I do realize that these were due to the lack of time). I would love to see a more polished version of this game and release it on mobile or ITCH.io or even Steam. This game has huge potential. Anyway here are my remarks:
Thank you so much for the feedback! I'll keep all of this in mind as I develop further. I wasn't particularly confident in the game at the deadline, but all of the positive feedback has definitely convinced me to develop it further, after the review period ends!
Really nice core mechanic, at first I got confused by the fact you can control disconnected groups of squares, but it makes for some awesome level design later on! The level itself being dynamic (with the red tiles disappearing after use) also gives some depth to it, overall I really liked the gameplay.
As for the (very few) negative points, I wish there was alternate inputs (arrow keys) for non-qwerty keyboards, and maybe a small piece of text for the controls (WASD + R) - but that can go in the description. The moves counter is slightly bugged when you're at 0 moves on the goal, but that forces you to solve the level in less moves so it's not that bad :) maybe if you update it, you could indicate the least possible moves as an optional goal.
Overall a really nice interpretation and implementation, GG!
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it! Moving disconnected groups was initially a flaw in my programming, and while I was figuring out how to go about fixing that, I went "actually, that'd be a really cool puzzle mechanic" xD
Alternative input is definitely something I considered, but forgot about as I was developing. Thanks for bringing that up, I'll definitely be sure to add that in the future!
The game was real fun to play. The instructions were very clear and the puzzles were definitely engaging. The simplicity of the art makes it stand out. Nice job on it. Also as said by IDECAMUFFS, this could make a great mobile gam
Thank you, I'm really glad you liked it! I'll definitely be developing this further after voting ends!
Very simple, but excellently executed! Comments on the sound side have already been made and heard. The about and levels button lead to the same level select screen! Honestly, just touch up the presentation, add music and SFX, and make like 40 new levels (probably the hardest part X_X) and I could totally see this being a fun mobile game! Well done! :D
Thank you! I'm really glad you like it! That is all on my to-do list, I definitely want to work on this more!
It's a simple, but quite elegant game, I can see a lot of idea that could come out of this. I'm stuck at level 9, but it's okay. Building puzzle level in 48hours is hard, so congratz !
Oh, and it's very confusing how the levels are ordered in the level selection menu, I can feel how it has been made at the last moment :D
Yeah, I definitely went "oh yeah, I need a level select screen" lol. I've had so many idea for levels since submitting, I'm really looking forward to working on it after voting is over!
I'm glad you enjoyed it, thank you so much for playing!
One level (number 8) is both probably in the wrong order (before 6 & 7) and harder than 10...
all-in-all though, pretty good!
I'm glad you liked it! Level 8's difficulty spike is definitely the biggest complaint I've gotten, I look forward to tweaking it after voting is done! And yeah, I clearly didn't double check the level select screen lol. Thanks for playing!
Really fun, liked the idea. Unique game. Could use some sfx and music but other than that the puzzles are fun and the movement timer keeps it interesting.
The lack of sound effects and music is my biggest regret, but i didn't have the time unfortunately. Will definitely be adding that after the voting period is over! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
