Cool concept with good platforming feel.

I'd have appreciated a little more wiggle room between the window size and the kill frame (especially vertically) as it felt like I was fighting the window more than actually playing.

But other than that little niggle, the art and sound design is top tier and I'd say the game is an overall solid submission.

unique idea, i though of a similar idea of scaling the camera, but didnt stick with it, really nice art, but i found the scaling mechanique a little annoying!

The platforming felt good, but the scaling was very finicky and often felt like it was fighting me for unclear reasons.  The little tiny rectangular mines(?) also felt bit unfair.  The gameplay concept is cool, though, and the art and music are very nice.  I made it to partly through the green area (with the thing chasing you) before giving up.  Solid work overall.

Great idea, love the art style-and theres plenty of polish.

amazing game and i love the polish, artstyle and sound effects. the concept of scaling the frames is also really cool. but i feel like its too hard. i went to the end of the tutorial where u had to take the photo around 3 times and i positioned myself exactly how the photo was and right clicked and it just killed me everytime and put me all the way to the start which was quite frusturating. i think if taking the wrong photo didnt kill you it would be better. also i feel like when u scale the right side for example it would be better if the opposite side shrunk down when u scale out of the screen instead of the right side itself scaling down. anyways great job and i love the music and sfx as well

The mechanics are really unique and the gameplay is interesting. Needing to manage the screen space as well as wall jumping makes my multi-tasking brain go brrr. However if you are not great at platforming games like I am, you will surffer as dying from taking the wrong picture can also feel very unforgiving and completing the tutorial can be a test of your skill ceiling.

The spikes (ground traps?) might need to visually communicate their existence as a gameplay element more, I had to step on it 3 times before noticing them the first time. Are they supposed to be sneaky like that? They also change color on different levels, which is great for art as they blend in but ... they blend in too well sometimes.

Otherwise, this was a challenging and fun game. I could not get the last picture as I failed to git gud.

Super creative and very stylish. Loved the look and sounds and I couldn't be too upset about my numerous deaths because of the satisfying crunchy sounds.

That having been said, I was still often quite upset about my numerous deaths :P I think the difficulty was a bit too much on the punishing side for my tastes since it didn't really feel like it came from the "playing" part of the game (running and jumping) and instead was a chore enforced upon me in keeping the camera following my character :(

That negative piece took a lot more words to say than the positive piece, but only because I wanted to be clear about what I meant, not that I think it deserved more space than the easy to say initial nice things :P It really is a phenomenal entry <3

Pretty challenging and fun game! Amazing graphics and juice as well! There are certain parts in the map where you can just keep falling and falling which is pretty funny to me. I also wish it was easier to control the frame, but other than that, great game! I believe this could be a potential full release after the jam!

This needs to be in the spotlights for this jam, that was... Incredible 5/5/5

Would give it a higher rating if I could...

What a great concept. The visuals are very beautiful, the music is top-notch. Professional work all around. It is quite hard but I can see myself coming back to this and trying a bit more.

Same as below, the game looks amazing but feels super hard, but it has a huge potential for a steam game !!

This is a really interesting concept with a ton of potential, and there's a very unique pixel art style, the presentation overall is excellent. However I do think that the execution is rough to say the least. There seem to be a lot of precision platforming elements in what is ostensibly a puzzle game. The physics on the character controller are also not super suited to those precision elements and it feels like those aspects of the game are constantly playing tug of war against each other. It's just way more punishing than it feels like it should be for a game about taking pictures. The finicky frame controls would present much less of an issue with a more forgiving approach to the platforming.

Also the music was incredibly loud.

Developer

If the music was too loud for you, you can adjust it with the music slider. Thanks for your feedback though!

The art is really good, the environments, lighting, and characters are all super cool. unfortunately I suck at video games so I didn't get too far. Seems super creative and polished. Great game none the less!

Tough but a great experience. Such a cool concept executed very well. Just make the spike larger lol

Very brutal game. Nice art.

This concept is really awesome! I did struggle a bit due to having two monitors at different heights and the mouse not being locked to the window. The mouse would snap down suddenly. Not sure if you could make it visible while staying within the window. Also having the first picture be closer by or more obvious on where to go as the player is learning would be nice. Great concept otherwise!

Developer

Don't worry we ended up making a version on NG to help with those issues, thanks though!

The art is really good, and I like the concept of finding a place and taking a snapshot.

But I’ll vent my frustration a little: this is one step away from being a rage game for me.

  • The fact that you die so easily and have to play from the beginning is very annoying.
  • You can’t smoothly switch from dragging one side to another (unless you grabbed the angle first it seems), you need to let go of one and then grab another. Which may be tricky when you jump for example.
  • Spikes are very small. You won’t know they are spikes until you die to then.
  • And the most annoying is the fact that you die if you make the wrong snapshot. You can’t experiment with the mechanic, try out different things, etc. And you will probably die by the finish line because you need to match the borders of the snapshot and not just reach it position.

Nevertheless, if you disregard that or if that was the original intention, the game is extremely well polished. The art, the animations, the sounds and music! It’s a really impressive job!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I realized how hard the game was a bit too late, guess I got too used to playing while I was coding it. Glad you enjoyed it :)

Suuper cool graphics and good concept, it was a bit to hard but maybe I'm just bad 😂

I love the artwork!! And I also like how you added a twist to the "window-resizing platformer" with the snapshot mechanic. I would've liked if the picture frame didn't kill me, as it was a bit frustrating, but I just probably need to git gud.

What a nice game, how can you come out this idea. Great Job!
