How does your game fit the theme?
I have a robot that is programmed (build) to get fishscales. You can scale up your fishtank. Also the just like regular fish they adapt depending on your fishtanks size

interesting game idea and nice sfx. took me a little while to understand, though. nice work overall!

I liked the sound design and the controls felt nice. It was hard sometimes to get the scales with the slippery movements though

Developer

gotta move like a fish :)

As alot of people have commented - pressing E to pick up is unnecessary. The game feel would be better if it was instantly.

I don't see where the game fits the theme? You pick up fishscales .. I think it vaguely fits the theme. I think if the character you play scaled (either becoming bigger or faster, idk) - then that would add more to the theme.

The gameplay was fun but it become repetitive fairly quickly. I would create a smaller map,  with maximum 3 treasures. Also nice effects for when you don't meet the quota! :)

Developer

The e thing i 100% agree with. The scale theme is implemented in several ways, you scale up your fishtank by buying new ones and the fish have a chance to become bigger when you do this. The fishscales themselves were an original take from me

A chill, quiet game (if you leave out the loss screen. I guess that made it even more punishing haha). Really good take on the theme, on multiple fronts too. Loved the pixel art. Especially the elder fish animations and the aquarium.

Stuff that could probably use some improvement: It wasn't very clear to me what I needed to do at the beginning, so I spent a little time in the 1st room just looking around. The randomly spawning baby fish were also a little frustrating, as the clock was always ticking but sometimes you'd get 1 fish in a room and it wouldn't drop scales for a bit.

Cheers!

Developer

Yeah spawn numbers and chances were a bit rushed due to the time but i might change it in the future. Thanks for the review!

Overall pretty nice game. Left my review of it in the dms :p

Very nice game! A simple, almost relaxing (except for the jumpscare) game! Would like to see how to gets updated after the jam!

Submitted(+1)

the idea is good but pressing e to pick them up feels unintuitive becouse its not enough to hover over them and press it i had to stop everytime else it didnt pick them up.

Developer(+1)

yes, number 1 thing I change if I progress with this game. thanks for the feedback

Concept is pretty neat! I feel like pressing E to pickup is pretty unnecessary though. Since the player has to pickup the items constantly, pressing E most of the time can be annoying.

The game has a nice gameplay loop. The visuals could have a bit more polish, and the UI is a bit out of place compared to the theme. The game is, nevertheless, a unique take on the theme.

:D

fun game, everything is cool!

but the thumbnail doesnt really show the gameplay so ppl wont be as enticed.

so i think you could try editing the thumbnail? editing thumbnail is allowed as long as you dont change the game itself

Developer

yeah, didnt have time to properly create one sadly

Submitted

you can do it now too!

its allowed in the jam to edit the itch page, just not the game itself

Developer

you think this is better?

I really enjoyed playing this one. The vibes are good, the music is soothing. I like the feeling how it slowly unfolds. It wasn't obvious at first what are the fish tanks and some other suff that Big Boss is telling in the beginning, but when I got hold of basics it was a smooth sailing mostly. Also mixing a simple collection mechanics with a drop of rouglikeness is neat. I think automated pick up and a bit more of UI feedback (for example I couldn't understand where my health was or is it even matter) could greatly improve the flow and overall experience. Beside that it's pretty great entry.

Nice interpretation of the theme! I didn't expect a jumpscare tho

really cool take on the theme

Interesting concept, liked the progression with the different rooms! Thank god I don't have a quota irl. Great game!

Nice concept, collecting scale from fish and avoiding them is funny, cool game!

To expand the game maybe have different fishes / features ?

Developer(+1)

was the idea but scope creep took the better of me. Ill rate your game when I got time!

Cool game. I liked that as you unlocked more rooms you could speed up your farming by jumping between rooms and sweeping all the scales. The pixel art is nice. I found it almost impossible to avoid the bigger fish, and sometimes the bigger fish got me immediately after entering a room. Other than that, fun game, well done :)

This is a really neat game! I love the art style and music. The gameplay is quite addicting too, although I found it easy to get lost once I was a few days in with lots of fishtanks unlocked which was how I died a couple times.

Lovely aesthetic! I like how the difficulty increases the deeper you go into the fishtank. I do however think a minimap would be handy in this case because i got lost a couple of times trying to get back to the start. Anyway amazing graphics and gameplay :)

I like the idea! Pretty cute game with cute graphics, and the robot animations are amazing! In the first level, I realized that i had to buy into the other rooms too late, so i missed the timer by 1 second. Good game!

ps: if you could play my game as well, that would be very cool ;)
