Simple but with a lot of depth to it. It's hard to wrap your head around the necessary moves to get to the end, but the levels do a great job at hinting towards the solution. It does pretty quickly become mostly about avoiding fours, but the ice fixes that.

really well designed, I had a fun couple of minutes

Nice game, the graphics were simple and pleasing and the sound effects were satisfying. Only issue is that I solved some of the puzzles through brute force rather than thinking. But other than that, great job!

That was actually my first idea for a game in this jam!! Its really well executed and looks professional. Good job :) Had fun playing it

This is a good game. I initially thought of this idea and then gave up due to the 4 lock issue. Its interesting that you used that limitation to your advantage. Good work.

A pretty interesting take on the theme, although, It had slight problems, mainly rolling a 4 since it causes a soft lock, and forces you to reset.

Other than that it was actually a pretty nice brain teaser, Good job!

yeah i guess i should have added something to actually indicate that the 4 lock is an intended feature, maybe even a restart button. thanks for the nice review!

It's genuinely a hilarious and frustrating experience to see that damned 4 show up on your dice haha. As others have stated, landing a 4 will continue to give you 4s no matter what side you roll. I love the visuals and the satisfying level design but that 4 issue is one that can not simply be hammered out or readjusted so it'd be quite interesting to see a full game try this concept. Love the creativity and game feel!

yeah hopefully i plan on ironing  out more of the problems pointed out here in the comments and dropping a more polished version after the jam

Good game with more mechanics coming while playing and a very simple core gameplay, unfortunate i have a tiny smooth brain that makes me unable to finish the game. Great job!

Fun game! I enjoyed the spin on dice rolling with having to plan ahead with the amount of rolls you do. That was super clever. If you wanted to improve I recommend an 'undo' button. There were a number of times I landed on 4 and couldn't get off of it since any way I rolled would just put me back on 4. Also, some sort of 'goal' moves to win would be nice too. Overall a fun and well polished experience, great work!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

oh yeah, great idea, having the goal move count be visible would let you know when you're getting off track and might help with some of the trickier levels. thanks for the feedback!

Solving each puzzle made me feel like a huge brained genius, which is the best kind of feeling you can get out of a puzzle game! 10/10 was impressed by how many levels you managed to create as well.

Cool lil game, could be a new hypercasual hit! GJ!

I can see this becoming featured on the winners video. Simple concept, but don't get fooled, becomes tricky. The music just blends so well with the environment and action. 10/10

I really like how simple concept of a puzzle can make the game really good. Just think of way to solve and not question how it works

I really like how the game feel to play, the animation is great, it is a bit hard to tell what you would roll next and I would to get some more use out of the number 4. Overall one of the nicest take on this type of puzzle.

I loved the twist with ice, great, intuitive level design. The sounds for moving the die were ~crispy~ and the movement was quick which was all great. My game is actually built on the same premise with a slightly different art style and a few different mechanics, so I really enjoyed the challenge of tackling your levels! The only thing I would change is the camera, there were times where I wanted to look ahead in the level to see what number I needed where, but I couldn't pan the camera. Overall, fantastic game, great work!

Interesting puzzle game!

Rolling a 4 is so frustrating haha. Great puzzle game with awesome level design.

These type of puzzle games are always super satisfying when you figure it out. Using the dice face to show the amount of moves is a great choice for this theme, nice game!

I've seen a few of these this year, but this has by far the best presentation, and probably also level design. Enjoying playing this, and I don't even particularly like puzzle games. Good job!

Absolutely incredible game, the "ah-ha" moments in every puzzle gives a boost in serotonin. Just wish there was a super satisfying thunk noise when the cube rolls ;). Awesome job. I can't wait to see your next project!
