How does your game fit the theme?
The shape of the dice and the numbers on its faces inspired us to create a unique control scheme for platform game. The side of the cube that the hero lands on when spawning determines even the forward button, making every attempt randomly different.
Did your team create the vast majority of the art during the 48 hours?
No
We used pre-existing art
Did your team create the vast majority of the music during the 48 hours?
Yes
We created the vast majority of the music during the game jam

I really enjoyed this! It took some mental gymnastics to get used to the controls but it was a lot of fun once I did. Love the unique approach
This is a really interesting, but I found myself getting to frustrated with it quickly. The idea behind the controls is unique, but it was mentally exhausting to actually use them.I ended up falling off on the second level and deciding not to go further because I was not looking forward to redoing the section I had just done. Also, the music volume setting kept getting reset on me, which I assume is a bug.
Thanks for your feedback!
The thing with sound controls is indeed a bug that we couldn't handle before the deadline, so we added it to the Known Issues list. Maybe we should rephrase this section to make it clearer though.
We are completely understand your frustration, because it is what we were initially going for, commiting to this unusual control scheme. It should be challenging and require lots of mental energy to calculate every move. Not every game does this, but it was our design decision, so it is completely fair to not like this. We hope you had at least *some* fun getting used to our controls and learning again how to do familiar platform movement with our Dice King ^^
Thanks for playing through!
Great Idea! Controls were experimental, but it was very fun when I got used to it. It was creative to use the eyes of the dice as a control method. Nice job!
Visually looks great! I do understand the controls are the main mechanic however it often felt like more of a chore to move then anything. Still all around a great submission!
This is a great idea! Good thing there are reflections of the faces on the board, it helped me a lot.
However, I firmly believe that controls should never be the "difficulty" of a video game. I think that's also the point of a gamejam: to try out original concept.
Overall, good job on your submission!
Dude I've been wanting to play this game but then I ultimately was disappointed with the controls. It was too hard to move. The presentation and graphics are the best. The music, not bad. I'm glad that R allowed me to replace the die but was disappointed to learn that it didn't reset the time since the controls were the hardest thing about this game.
Sorry but this was a super let down for me. Really love your art .
Sad to hear that, but thank you for honest opinion.
These controls are kinda the point of the game, as it shifts the perception of familiar platform gameplay. If it doesn't connect with you than we maybe did something wrong...
Wow I feel like you really care about my experience. I can tell that you must be a stellar developer. I really look forward to your next game and am definitely following you!
Really polished and great take on the theme. Getting used to the controls was a bit challenging, but other than that, it was really fun^^
very nicely presented! it takes a while to figure out where to move, but the process is super fun! awesome job!
Movement is quite fun and the gameplay really match your mechanic. Levels are also cool.
Once you understand how to move is quite a fun game, the level design is good and the art is nice. A good take on the theme.
when your brain get the mechanics, is beautiful!
Fun concept and clean presentation. Very nice job to complete this in 48 hours!
Such a great concept, and just so much fun! It's a really inventive control scheme that's definitely challenging but feels really rewarding to get to grips with. I suspect it'd make for very difficult but really fun speedruns!
Hello Fox, I liked your game a lot the gameplay was a lot of fun. There were times when I had no #/couldn't flip to move in the correct direction. Not sure if this is a bug or If I am playing wrong. The sound effects were also nice the music was soothing and the sound felt like a reward. Great work with your jam!
Watched your stream with the whole team — it was a blast! Thanks for playing through our game!
The movement thing is not a bug, but the hidden sides of the dice is tricky to figure out and count. It is definitely a UX thing we should figure out in our post-jam build.
Thanks for your feedback!
Very interesting choice for controls, it makes the game a lot harder, but it was fun and I enjoyed it!
This game is simply amazing. Great work your team did during these 48 hours. The control scheme had me fumbling around like a toddler, but when I figured out how to do jumps, it was a very satisfying feeling. This game definitely has a spot in the top games for this jam.
If I could criticize anything, I would say that the sound effects and music are a tad painful to listen to, minus the sound for moving around. Having different notes on each face is really cool.
Thank you! We actually watched your stream with the whole team and you are doing an amazing job showcasing games and giving feedback! Keep up the good work <3
Also, thanks for pointing out problem with sounds. We will give it our full attention in post-jam build!
I like that every face has a different note. is was cool when I could go fast and make something like music. but it was difficult for me to control maybe e few simple levels could make the player get used to it but it was a 48 hours game so it's good.
quite the original idea. i found the controls really hard though. since moving at all is so hard, i didn't find the game that enjoyable. it has really nice art.
The game looks really nice, the idea is clever and original. This is one of the slower platformers I've ever played! I really appreciate that you didn't put in any moving/chasing enemies, that would've been frustrating I think :) Jumping 2/3 squares further was a bit tricky but very rewarding when I got the hang of it. Jumping in a curve was also rewarding to figure out!
I think the flags/checkpoints should've been closer before and after tricky jumps, so we wouldn't have to walk the same path over and over again if the tricky jump failed.
Thanks for your kind words!
We are really glad you had fun in our game, even mastering the tricky jumps <3
Your point about checkpoints is super valid, we will definitely playtest it more to tweak checkpoints positions after the voting period!
Thank you very much!
The controls messed with my brain, but it was still very fun! xD
nice art, music and sound effects!
