Nice submission! A decent, straightforward, interesteing mechanic and good puzzles. Music felt a little repetitive. There were some inconsistencies with key mapping that were a little frustrating. WASD worked for moving, but not in the pause menu. The Enter key would close the pause menu, but wouldn't execute the selected option.

Overall a really nice entry, with just a couple of polish issues. Great job!

One of the best so far.

The art and music are super polished. And I love the feeling of the burrowing and th puzzle design.

Fantastic job!

This is a really clever and interesting take on the theme! The puzzles are well thought out, and the art and music feel very polished. Excellent submission, nice work!

Really wonderful game, one of my favs. The art and music fit the mood perfectly. Did the music change as you started to dig, or was that just the rumble being added?

The levels were incredibly well thought out! How much time did you spend on development vs. level design? How early had you locked in the puzzle mechanics?

Great work and I hope you put this out there when the jam is done!

Just quick firing some answers here:

  1. The music doesn't change, that's just the rumble being added.
  2. My teammate made the art and sound, then he made a ton of levels in like two to three days. I made some levels and my father made some levels then we made adjustments to the levels as we polished the game.
  3. We had the main mechanics worked out within the first day, the enemies took a bit longer. We only decided on the layout of the levels with the goblins inbetween and how gold would work untill five days before the deadline.

Thanks for asking!

Great job! (I didn't have a chance to get started until 6 days before the deadline. 😅 What it would have felt like to have that much space!)

I loved the art and the puzzles were quite well-designed. Great game overall!

Really good puzzle, this one was a challenge. Art was great as well.

Really cool game idea, some amazing puzzle design, and the graphics, theme and music all work beautifully hand in hand. I didn't make it the whole way through as I got stuck eventually but had a great time with what I did play.

My one source of frustration was that pressing space and then the arrow keys to mine a stone often meant that if I mishandled that interaction a little, i'd move through earth instead when that wasn't my intention. I would have preferred if the arrow keys were reserved for burrow movements and mining worked a little differently so I don't accidentally mess up my pathing and have to restart.

Superb submission!

Man, this game is awesome, good stuff. It felt pretty long but when I finished it I was kinda sad.

Love the jagged wipes and burrowing–the visual effects in this game are fantastic!

Really cool game with nice graphics! The art style and the gameplay is also very nice. Though, I would have liked an option for WASD controls as well.

Cool game! I noticed there were lots of features for accessibility too which was nice. I got stuck eventually and had to use the cheats to beat the level lol. Overall though very nice game :)

this is pristine. genuinely great work. i got stuck at one point and had to restart the game to get unstuck but i love the digging puzzles and the use of the theme.

Developer

There's a way to restart a level if you get stuck, press P. Great you enjoyed it anyway.

What a great little game and a cool take on the theme! The art is super cute, the sound design is excellent and I really felt the tension of waiting to see if the mine would collapse. I even kind of liked it when it did collapse for the audio-visual treat of it all!

Very solid puzzle game, which kept my ADHD attention for a decent chunk of time. I almost gave up after soft locking once, but then I found the reset and kept going. Finally stopped after paying off the 5 gold goblin. Very nice work!

Wow you got pretty far then! Thanks for playing!

I really enjoyed this, the gameplay and animations are solid! I don't have any bad things to say

Really liked the idea for this one and the interpretation of the theme! I thought the aesthetics were great too. Main feedback is it'd be great to learn the gameplay concepts through playing the game rather than text blocks that tell me what to do. Also there were a couple situations where you could get stuck and were forced to reset the room, but the pause menu had strange behavior (no mouse selection, can't use WASD to move up/down, can't use enter key to select)

Developer

Thanks for playing! With this game, we felt we needed to absolutely make sure players would understand the mechanics, even if it meant laying it out via text.
