Super cute game! Insane amount of art and content too
Ah... the peaceful life of a little ol' shopkeep, oh how I could retire like this 😌
This was wonderful! There's a ton of polish here, and so much detail in the little things you can do... the items you can give (if you can pinpoint all of the refs right now from memory, you're an instant OG) to all the cute and often suspicious mascot NPCs, the interesting sense of story progression, and even that sudden but sweet twist! I just had an absolute ball with that, that was a lot of fun for what it is.
I do think there are some little fixes and adjustments that could be made to enhance the quaint dialogues, and naturally some expansion of folks we see and things that can happen to add that delectable spritz. I think it would be a great idea to incorporate additional "world-shaping" through some means of controlling and growing the shop's available items over time (whether via currency or maybe even over multiple runs, to find how to unlock them! that or just who you see changes over time) -- I just adore the news clips' ability to portray a little world directly affected by what we sell, and the cheeky smiles it left me with as the days progressed is a great capture.
With those extra cherries, I would absolutely encourage you to take this to holo Indie and even put a price for it! I have good faith they would accept it >:) -- thank you for submitting! 🙇♂️
Love this, the art and sound are all so cute and all the little UI touches make searching for the items and delivering them enjoyable. The sheer number of items is impressive and the experience was very smooth and bug free.
Only medium feedback is eventually adding variety to the 'guest orders thing' loop. Maybe theres two guests, maybe you need to find two or three things, maybe they ask for a category like drink or weapon idk.
Other than that it's just tiny nitpicks. Once and item got stuck on the 'drop here' box, the newspaper music is very loud, the 'drop here' text could have a shape and look a tad bigger.
Great entry, everyone did an awesome job
Extremely good entry! Love all the art, the alternate and more casual outfits are a nice touch! If I had to really nitpick just a few small issues:
Still, for a jam game this is super nice! I replayed several times to try and find new outcomes and had a blast :)
One of my favorites from this jam! There's a lot of things I loved about this game that it's hard to pick which aspect of it was my favorite :D
I really loved the cute art style, all the references sprinkled throughout the trinkets and the customers, the different funny endings you get depending on which item you give to the other talents (my favorite ending is the one where you give a pickaxe to Pekora). But if I had to pick a favorite thing I liked from this game, I really liked the original themed outfits for each of the talents :o
Very high quality visuals and great music arrangements!
Gameplay is also very fun! I enjoyed the different "events" that could trigger depending on what you provide to the special customers.
Some improvement suggestions:
- Balance the music volume. Special event BGM was much louder than the rest of the game.
- The constantly scrolling background made me dizzy, especially since I was playing in full screen. Maybe tone it down a bit?
- Add some logic to spread out the items that are requested by customers. In my playthrough I got asked for scissors 4 times and I think I got another item asked two times in a row. For example, keep track of the last 3-4 items and remove them from the request pool, or give each item a weight depending on how many times it has been requested.
- The "lives" UI seems to be bugged. It goes to full health after each day (visually), but it seems to keep track of total lives across the whole game session, not per day.
- Day 9 bugged for me. At the end of the day with 0 customers left it suddenly showed a Korone dialogue box but the day just ended there in a black screen. Maybe I was clicking too fast?
- Day 13 also bugged at the end. I got a Fauna dialogue box saying "Hello" and then the game just closed. Not sure if there was supposed to be an ending sequence there.
Once these issues are fixed, it's a very solid game. I think with some progression features, like gaining currency from sales and investing it to expand the shop and have more items on sale; as well as some kind of story mode, you could even consider submitting it to the holo Indie program!
Great work!
Oh I forgot to mention:
- The ZIP file contains the whole Godot project, not just the export. I don't know if it was intentional.
- On a second playthrough day 9 worked fine. I probably was clicking too fast.
- I like the replay value since you have different options of items you can give to each of the special customers, so you can see different outcomes.
Really nice and cozy game! Love the Newspaper Snippets if you give certain Items to the Members! Definetly a great game!
There are a lot of Hololive references that really capture the theme well. Very polished.
My suggestions are to add more time to find items to make it more relaxed, random reaction, increase item visibility, and increase the hitbox for drag-and-drop actions. Lastly, please consider adding a web build. Nice work.
Super fun and cute!
This is impressive! I think my favorite in this jam so far. I love the cozy, laid back atmosphere, and everything in this game is on the quality (especially the art) that I would not have questioned it if it is official work.
I really loved this! The overall quality of the game's art is super clear to me. Shoutouts to the composer, the Let me stay here arrangement had me thinking it was official for a minute. One nitpick is the hitboxes on some of the objects are kinda finnicky and I had to scroll over them a few times before it would allow me to pick them up.
A very cute and cozy game with plenty of references to go around!
Wow. The amount of quality put into this game is insane, especially in the art. It's such a cute and cozy shop simulator and I'm sure Fauna would be so delighted if she saw this. I especially enjoy the fact that the special customers (talents) can be given various trinkets, and their reactions differ with each one (I found the Korone + Soap combo especially funny and cute). I also just want to compliment the amount of detail put into the art of the shop, all the trinkets, UI, and the adorable characters. So good!
For feedback, I think there's a bug with the "dirty finger" item. When asked for the "dirty finger", only the normal "finger" works. There's also a funny bug if you hold left mouse button, hover over an trinket, and move the cursor very quickly, you can rearrange the whole store and make it very messy lol.
