Description
My imagined game is a puzzle/mystery game, where the main character explores the books in a magical library, in which each book tells the story of how a person died. The player must unearth the secrets and find the missing pages to help the spirit pass on.
The soundtrack is orchestral with light synths, composed using Spitfire, East-west and Keyscape plugins in Logic Pro.
1. Within the Library - the main track in the collection, and is a representation of the general tone of the soundtrack. A looped version of this track would play as you explore the main library area, and the end of the track suggests the dark tonality of some parts of the game.
2. Unearthed Secret - A short motif and track designed to accompany the player as they struggle with a conflicting memory that troubles them from their past.
3. A missing Page - this track plays as the character discovers the missing page in the book they are currently exploring, and serves as the end of the game chapter. The player character and the page are lifted in the air as the book magically reveals the secrets contained within. The repeated continuous note represents the soul residing within the page, and dies down to a faint pulse as it finds its place in the book.
Message from the artist
Thanks for listening! I had a great time making these tracks, and it was a new way of creating that I would love to do more often. Thanks to LoneRabbit for putting on the Jam!
Theme
How does it fit the theme?
As you explore the library, each book you travel into is a window into the world of a person who lived their life. As you experience their story, you see inside their world.

Nice job with the strings! Each track was impactful and cinematic, especially the "Pages Within" track. Thanks for sharing!
These are awesome! They're so cinematic, I can really see the picture you're painting of this magical library. Your mixing is fantastic, you really use instruments in space very well and your layering of the synths with traditional orchestration fits super super well. I'd love to hear if you expand on this soundtrack at all - I'm wanting to dive into some books and hear the different soundscapes you come up with for the lives of these people! You've done a great job painting a strong picture of the game concept and making me want more!
Love the tension from the strings and atmospheric drones that you used. All the tracks were really cohesive with each other!
What a great submission! I love how well each track fits the story, and it all flows really well! My favorite was A Missing Page, but each piece is just great. Mystery/detective game soundtracks are always a fun time though :3 This is really well done!!
I really like Unearthed Secrets, it has a great mystery vibe!
I loved the three, really great proposition, rich and colorfull
Nice soundscapes, I can easily imagine the compositions fit in the game :) Love what you did with the strings in A missing page. Love the voices!
Really love the narrative you gave each of the tracks! Haven't seen many of the OSTs go for a puzzle-game direction, I think yours is the first I've encountered. Your instrumentation really sets the tone for each of the tracks, such as thestring arrangements in Unearthed Secrets and A Missing Page. I also love the atmosphere you built in the main loop for the game, Library. Gives off a very whimsical and inquisitive nature to the player as they search the books.
Great job!
Thanks! By coincidence I just saw another puzzle game by fosterstonemusic so if you're interested I'll link it here:

It has some really fun ideas with blending genres, and sounds great in general.
it just amazing!!!
i feel the vibe!! <3
The dreamlike fairytale vibe with the hint of darkness at the end of Within the Library is a delight and suits the game concept you described really well! The OST as a whole though is beautiful :3
Beautiful submission! A Missing Page is definitely the highlight for me, but you nailed this one. Great work!
Really cool composition and style! I really liked the use of the single repeating bell tone note in A Missing Page, and Unearthed secret's unsettling vibe is also really cool! Great work
Thanks so much!
Nothing really to say but incredible job! All tracks sound great but still a small soft spot for Within the Library’s great chord progression!
Thanks! Library is definitely the one I'm happiest with
The production on this is great, you did such a good job with the blending of each instrument. Your use of repetition throughout the soundtrack is very effective, and I like the way each song built in intensity, especially the eerie feeling in Unearthed Secret. I especially liked Within the Library, the warm feeling and chord progression really stood out to me!
Love the chord progression and instrumentation going on in Within The Library! Reminds me of “Go Slowly” by Radiohead
Very modern and effective writting. My fav one was Within the Library !
One of the gems so far! Great sense of motion throughout, and very emotive lines.
sounds so magical and emotional! i really liked it
The first track feels very nostalgic, I like how the instruments work with each other, really nice arrangement. Dreamy and sweet, love it!
This is nice! It's impressive how you can program strings to be moving and life-like. (I can't do that even if my life depended on it.) I loved the first track "Within The Library" and how it made use of a wider array of instruments, feel like they've got their own frequency range and are distinguishable. And I think that can help elevate the other 2 songs as well. Especially "A Missing Page" where its crescendo got a bit muddy mix-wise.
"Unearthed Secrets" is what plays when I realized she was actually flirting with me 5 years ago.
I appreciate the feedback and it's actually super useful as I was feeling the same way about it - thanks!
