- I grabbed your game as soon as I saw it. Duck Hunt, one of my faves and a perfect fit for the theme of this game jam. When you said in your description, "some quirks" I did not expect the gun not to shoot and you to then...hurl your dismembered arm which then regenerates and goes again?! LOL wild. Quite a few quirks along the way that make it quite a creative interpretation of the first game. I liked the old TV going bad feel of the lines across the screen. It added to the overall twisted nature of this game. The sound design and music was good though a tad loud/abrasive. Volume sliders would help with this. It was a bit too difficult for me to get very far into the game. A missed shot affecting my health was a bit too rough. The ducks coming in slightly slower waves would help as well. Adding a bit of lore at the beginning would be cool. Something like, "We got an old copy of duck hunt! It's a bit twisted but maybe it'll still work." And then to explain the gameplay, "Just shoot the ducks. Easy!" And then you find that it's twisted and not as easy as you recall. It feels like the TV or the game have been possessed in comparison to the original game and that's so cool. I want that emphasized a bit more in an introduction of some kind. Great submission for the game jam! Good game design doc. This was really creative and well done. Thank you!

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes
Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes
Summarise your game!
Duck Hunt, but with some quirks. Use your mouse to aim, left click to shoot and get as many points as you want!
Please explain how your game fits the theme:
The game fits the theme by having the player take control of a hunter that's hunting ducks. Not only is he a weapon against the ducks on his own, but he does become a weapon himself in the literal sense as well.

What a weird fevered dream I just played. That’s pretty incredible to do this in two weeks. I will say it gets a little repetitive after 30k unless I’m missing something.
Still, that was an experience. Great job!
Attention: dunt hucking can cause many side effects. Hunter's discretion is advised.
And yes, I agree with you! The difficulty progression right now isn't quite good enough, so we've got a couple of tweaks for the next update that should make the game a bit tougher and more exciting.
We really do appreciate the feedback, though. Thank you for the feedback and for playing the game!
Nice game, I've managed 27500 in score
That's an amazing score! Oh, wait, what's this...
Look! That just got you a ticket into leaderboard town!
Seriously, thank you so much for playing the game and getting such a good score too. It makes us happy!
The grass is on fire and the tree is pulsing. My arm has changed into 10 different shapes of duck ending instruments. Things couldn't get better. Most surreal thing I've played thus far. Great Job!
Nothing like pulsing trees and fire grass to get a good headstart on the day. Thank you for dunt hucking! 🫡
This game is so whacky 🤣🤣 I thought all the duck animations were funny, when they spawned and when they got hit. The sound effects also, it sounded so varied and I felt bad for hitting the ducks. I don't know why the player kept morphing or change themselves into different attack modes but that was funny to see. And, I wasn't sure what was going on when the whole grassy area turned into a purple blaze 😂 there was so much happening in this game, that it was a joy to see them all! I thought the art was spectacular - very stylized. Well done!!
Wait, the blaze is purple??? I THOUGHT IT WAS RED
I'm so glad you had fun with the game, though. We plan to do some more stuff for an update, and then maybe work on a proper Steam version with a lot more stuff. Who knows what kinds of curses that'll bring into the game...
Thank you so much for taking the time to play and to leave your thoughts. It's always really appreciated by us!
I like the look of this game. It always feel good to see such effects while doing what the player would do the most in the game. There're always more to add, but the current state of the game isn't so bad. Well done.
Thank you! My brother spent a whole day making the shader effects, and I think it paid off!
There's a couple of things we're gonna tweak and add in an update, for sure. But I'm glad you got some enjoyment out of the current version.
Thank you for playing!
Omg this is hilarious. I love it. Oozing with charm. This is absolutely cursed in the best way. The only addition I would make would be to make the birds change colour (maybe blue) if they continue flying upwards when hit, I psyched myself out so much trying to "shoot" birds I already had gotten.
Sometimes, dunt hucking can bring a curse or two to our hunters...
Also, very good point about the ducks that have been already hit. We're gonna look into it!
Thank you very much for playing the game and leaving some feedback, it's very appreciated!
Such a good Duck Hunt clone. So beautifully absurd. I got scared when the sky started to look like Giygas. My high score was 21,000
Wow, that's an awesome score! You're taking the bus to the leaderboard club! (Also, always nice to see a fellow Mother fan)
I'm very glad you enjoyed dunt hucking. Thank you for playing!
Put me in the camp of "sucked at this, but had fun anyway"! Great work on the CRT effects!
If you had fun, even if for just a minute, then we've done our job.🫡
Thank you for taking some of your time to check the game out. It means the world!
Omg, this is such a wild ride, I love it but I hate that I'm so bad in it! xD I send it to a friend, though, who loves (and actually is good) in those kind of games. But I looove the style. I feel like I'm back as a child, playing an arcade.
It's actually really sweet that you felt like you were playing an arcade. Makes us smile.
Thank you for sharing our game and for playing it, too. It means a lot!
Really fun game! Love swapping between the different weapons. Got a score of 13k!
I'm very happy that you like it. And wow, that's a good score! To the leaderboards you go.
Thank you very much for playing!
Great aesthetic! I love all the random creepy events, adds a bit of dark humor especially when your arm changes to a real life one.
Turns out that dunt hucking sometimes has its quirks...
Thank you so much for playing!
Solid very polished piece of art. Just really vibed with the glitchy aesthetic, and the randomness of the duck sounds animation and background morphing, Great arcade fun.
I'm very glad you enjoyed it. Thank you so much for taking some of your time to play our game and leave a comment, it's really appreciated by us!
I am expecting the game to pull off some sort of pony island type twist mid game but anyway. Jokes aside the game is well polished and well made, so good job on that! I ended up somewhere around 22500 and hoped I saw what the game has to offer, but so far all seems to be very funny and a bit uncanny (in the good sense) as well, loved it. The gameplay is solid, but was wondering if there is a way to increase difficulty slowly throughout the game.
Anyway, good job!
Oh, we really wanted to implement more, but time constraints and all. I'm glad you enjoyed though!
Theoretically, the ducks would have a faster spawn rate as the game progresses, but I'd say it needs some tweaks. There's a couple of other things we have in mind to make it a bit tougher, though. :)
Thank you so much for taking the time to play our game and leaving such thoughtful feedback, we really appreciate it!
(Also, that's a crazy highscore! You're #1 on the leaderboards now!)
love the CRT look! really nice! good job!
They say it's a game from the 90s, but who knows.
Thank you for playing!
I really though a full blown ARG was about to unfold in this game. The presentation is incredibly stylish and well-executed. The sounds are extremely pleasant, and the FX are all extremely clean. The controls are snappy and the concept is easily understood.
Very well done!
I'm really glad you like it! We're considering doing more with this, so who knows.
Thank you for taking the time to play our game!
Wow, at first I was like "what a polished little retro game experience" and then I was like "wait, wtf" and that latter sentiment continued for the rest of my play session. Lol what a trip!
Sometimes, dunt hucking can be a confusing experience.
Thank you so much for playing!
Hahaha. Awesome trip. :D
Wouldn't want to play toe-or-finger with this guy!
Dunt huckers can be quite competitive...
Thank you for playing!
Nice graphics!! Good switch up between the guns and the body parts to subvert expectations. Good job!
I'm happy that you enjoyed it. Thank you for playing!!
Got a mail notification that Faulko published a new game, and what do you know - we got absolute banger again. Good job!!
Cheems! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Would've loved to see an entry of yours!
I appreciate you stopping by and playing the game. Thank you!
so funny! loved how it transitioned between attacking
A dunt hucker must use all their tools at their disposal.
Thank you for playing!
