Art, music and game feel were fantastic.
Gameplay needed a little bit of tweak but it was quite fun still!

The art here is amazing , the sfx and and the music are fitting and made it even more addicting than it already is...you and your team made an excellent submission and for that I'll give you 5/5 for everything thank you for submitting this masterpiece!

Great submission here, your team really nailed the artwork and sound/music were beautiful. I think I found a cheese method during the final boss, you can just hold the shield and never get hit by the lasers. I think I agree with some of the other comments that the controls felt a little floaty for the precision required to land on some of the platforms and one more tiny gripe I had were some of the spikes were hard to see especially in front of the houses.

All feedback aside this is one of the better games I've played in this jam and I gave you and your team really high ratings. Fantastic job!

Nice Game

The art style is so cool, looks super polished. The game has a few minor bugs here and there but a good game overall!

Nice relaxing platformer, although I feel the control sceme could have been a little better. More checkpoints would also have been nice. I don't really see tho how it fit the theme

Excellent game and always exciting to meet fellow Mexican AND GameMaker developers (I'm still writing the comments in English for the benefit of the rest). Very nice art, well written story, cool music. The only things I would suggest are:

  • The control choice is a bit awkward (movement with right hand and actions with left), I think it's better to have 2-3 schemes. I would like it to have controller support and/or WASD keyboard+mouse.
  • In general I think the balance between mechanics is a bit off.  For example, it's normally easier to dash through an enemy sentry drone than to use C, or many times you can get away with multi-jumping instead of dashing.
  • The air acceleration is probably a bit too high for when precision platforming is required (for example, jumping vertically then trying to move right or left to reach a platform, I often overshot the platform).
  • Small glitch, you can actually jump off the map/get outside the map, Mario-style. I thought you guys had put some Easter eggs there or something, but no :)

Great job!

Super cute game! The art style is great, especially the character and companion drone. The jump/shooting mechanic also feels pretty good and the combination of jump/shoot, dash, and shield are promising.

I like that you added in game tutorial panels that teach the controls. That's a nice addition.

Just a couple of things I noticed:
- The camera in the first level is super close which I like, because you can see the character, but it's too slow. I didn't always see what is beneath or above me.
- The tile set looks great but in the big blocks of wall maybe some variety would be great.
- The character is a bit floaty in the air which makes it hard to land on these single tile platforms. Maybe make the platforms at least 2 tiles wide or the character less floaty and more direct.

Overall a pretty nice game I enjoyed to play. Good job!

The art is AMAZING! It is a beatiful game in this beatifully created world. Very creative and pretty. The level design is also very nice! Overall it's a great game and I expect to see it in the top 10. Some feedback I would like to bring:

- The controls are a bit hard, but I think it was the intention. It reminds me of Celeste with the "z","x" and "c" usability.

- Almost everytime I got hit, the knockback would throw me at a spike, laser or enemy. So 1 hit would always kill me. That was kind of annoying.

- Spikes shouldn't be by the side of checkpoints. I would reappear and then get spiked by some spikes hard to see.

- At the boss fight, the camera should be zoomed out more so we can see the whole place. That would make it easier to understand where to hit the boss and to see the laser on top of the barn.

Overall, I loved it.

Thank you so much for all your comments and feedback you are very kind, Celeste was definetley an inspiration hehe, we will work on the points you have mentioned, thank you so much!

good game but a bit to much of a challenge at som points.

This game looks so good. Even just the little squishing animations when the player jumps are very satisfying. I wish I could've moved using WASD. Really creative mechanics with the droid.

Thank you so much for your kind words! we are happy you ejoyed it :3

Very good graphics

I had so much fun playing your game! It was hard to stop.

My only suggestion is to make the spikes easier to see. It was sometimes frustrating to get hit just because they blended with the background too much.

Developer

Thank you so much for playing our game, we are glad you enjoyed it,  and thank you for your feedback, will definetley make the spikes contrast more hehe

Lovely idea with an amazing art & sound to bring it to life!

I agree with Fxy comment regarding the shield mechanic, it seems underutilized and even a little out of place after you figure out that you can kill enemies with your jump.

My main issue with the game is that the platforming feels to floaty for its own good, however despite these issues the game just works and shows tons of charisma and potential, I could see this idea becoming a really good precision platformer.

Congratulations!

Developer

wooow thank you so much for your kind words! and yes shield definetley needs work hehe also the physics we need to find a precise speed of movement and jumping, thank you so much for playing our game, we are glad you enjoyed it :D

This game has a nice atmosphere thanks to the great art and music choice.

The idea of controlling a downwell style jump in a side scroller is interesting but find this game has a lot of mechanics that don't flow with the design entirely, mostly around the shield being the way to damage enemies that collide with you, it gets a lot less use than the other two abilities , especially since the contact damage overlaps with the dash functionality.

The stamina system feels out of place for this game where I can mostly fly over obstacles with the jump boosts for trivial stamina compared to the dash. The levels don't feel designed around the rate it decreases so I don't get the feeling that I made all the optimal moves to clear the stage with the right amount of stamina management, especially when I have to wait for it to refill after falling in a pit or just standing in a safe place. I wonder if borrowing even more from downwell with a stamina system that refills after landing or if the stamina refills were in more rewarding locations.

The camera in the first stage is way too close for where the platforms are, especially given that I can jump out of frame with no way of telling where my character will land beyond where the camera lerps to.

Thank you so much for all your feedback it is really helpful and we will work on all of the points to improve the game :)

The pixelart is nice, I think the level design could be a bit better, as theres a lot of spikes that don't really feel like they should be placed where they are and I just walked into without noticing. Also the jump is really high and the walking is pretty slow.

Developer

Thank you so much for playing it and for your feedback! we will definetly modify the physics hehe

I like the usage of the downwell style of jump, my main issue was not seeing the things that would hurt me, and the colliders seemed to be bigger than what they looked, which increased the difficulty by a large margin.

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad at least one feature was really well adaptep hehe, thank you for your feedback and for playing our game we really appreciate it

I Love The Graphics, I Gonna Say, I Really Dislike The Camera, It Doesn't Show What Your Need To See, Also The First Machine That Destroys The Laser, I Didn't Know What I Did, I Dash A Couple Of Times But It Didn't Do Anything, Also Before That I Was Shown That I Can Dash Through Laser I Though That Was Needed To Pass The Lasers...

Developer

Thank you so much for playing our game and for your feedback will definetly work on a better way to make the camera and the first level to be more clear :D

Great game! unfortunately it was a bit awkward to grip because of my german key board (Y and Z are flipped)
