I detest maths yet i like this game, darn you! You made me enjoy math!! Just joking i really enjoy this game and the art looks amazing, reminds me off TTROCKSTARS

Darn you exposed my poor math skills. I really like how simple yet fun it can be to solve equations under pressure. Reminds me of the MiT Integration Bee except we are doing algebra and in a fight for glory!

This is so polished, it feels like a finished game. Great work! You should put it on one of those educational gaming platforms ASAP!

very polished game

Really nice execution, everything feels smooth.

Very fun, very polished game!

Agree, there should be more math games )))

(remind me about Calculords...)

Developer(+1)

I do remember Calculords! But my main inspiration was the math round they do on the British show called The Countdown.

You tricked me into doing math! Fun game!

So cool to see you here on GDKO! Was so surprised to see another math game and then to realize it was from you hehe

A great math battle, really enjoyed the puns, loved the idea of limited numbers on the calculator

Developer

There should be more games about math, tbh

My inner mathematician took a lot of damage here, I was supposed to show everyone my master level skills but even the first attack was too much :(.However, this might be the first good math game I've seen in my life! Graphics and are all in place, I can see potential for further development. This could save our children.

This game was so awesome, so addictive, and super well-polished! The math was really cool, I love the loop of doing two kind of inverse mental calculations, it creates a nice ebb and flow that makes the game really rewarding and allows the player to develop that specific skill as they play, which is probably my favorite type of progression in a game. This game would probably be really successful in school systems. It makes math fun and who knows, maybe it improves mental calculation ability.

This was much intense than i was expecting 😅I kinda expected to play around with it for a couple of mins but ended up getting a bit too into it and genuinly feeling the pressure when i only had one heart left!

You really polished so many parts, everything feels polished and well implemented from the animated menu to the little adrenaline rush animations that play when you are sucesfull! You even gave the calculator buttons a really satisfying clunk when you use the buttons.

I really wasnt expecting to be able to customise a gladiator in a Maths game but that was a fun way to start, and i loved the silly puns and trash talk from the competitors.

Everything seemed to work really well on my play through, though if im honest there were many times i thought it didnt. I was practically yelling at the screen when it didnt accept an answer.... only to realise I did not do the order of operators correctly! I love that you added multiple difficulties but am too scared to try the max one.... the mid one was enough of a brain stretch for me.

I saw in another comment you mentioned how you would expand it and i really love the idea of having something between the rounds, if only just for a breather. Definitly excited to see where this goes.

Great job, excellent execution and insane amounts of feel good polish! nicely done!

Thanks for the feedback! I’ll be completely honest: right now, the only difference between difficulties is the amount of time you have (60 seconds, 30 seconds and 15 seconds, respectively). I do want to make them feel more distinct than that, though.

What a good game!

it is very cool. I will prompt too to do it like hungman, either to a more funny way or to more senssual way. eg. Add / subtract cloths. Or each part of the enemy have some numbers on it eg. head 1000 points that you must reach in order to take its head protection off etc.

It's alright, though I'm really not amazing at math it turns out. Problem is, defense regularly calls for a 0, such as exactly 0, or 10, and 0 is not present on the in game calculator, meaning you literally can't block when the answer involves a 0 since math functions are disabled.

Developer(+3)

Oh, that's a huge oversight. It simply never happened to me while I tested it, so it didn't occur to me that that would be a problem.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll fix it in the next update.

Yeah! Plus, are the rounds infinite? Because I've been going for a lot (i think 20ish?) and i didnt see the end so idk :'( plus i didn't know how to get back to the main menu...

That said, great concept and lovely game :D

Developer(+2)

I wanted to include tons more (actual game over, shop, items, bosses, branching paths in the vein of Slay the Spire) but couldn’t quite make it in time. I’ll update the game soon, fingers crossed!

YEAH AMAZING :D

Hey, totally understandable, but was really frustrating that I died not because I couldn't do the math but because I didn't have the numbers to provide the answer. Thanks for noticing.

Cool game! Neat twist on the calculator game. You not only have to calculate a number with limited options, you also have to solve an equation yourself by keying in the number with no help from said calculator. Love the art, too! I see the potential in this idea, it could even be a Steam game, possibly! No negative things to say. Will be sending to my math nerd friend.

Looks so polished! Unfortunately I am terrible at maths :(
