Everything was on point! I appreciate how you could play the game as fast or slow as you'd like. You could all the time you needed to think about your next move or you could blitz though and win in a matter of seconds.
Thanks! Yeah, I noticed while I was playing myself that I wanted to move quick, especially on calmer segments, therefor I made sure to have quick animations that don't get in the way.
It was fun puzzle game and graphics! good job. I am just questioning was there really two mechanic in it? Because we choose the next station as mechanic for both visiting stars and avoiding enemies
Thanks for playing!
There are definitely at least two mechanics, they are just very close nit together. You can think like this: Would there still be a "game" if one of them was removed? Yes, you could have a game without the enemy ships, just having to travel between the stars (although this wouldn't be fun). You could also have a game were the objective wasn't to visit all the stars, but rather survive for long enough or something else entirely.
You could also see the space stations themself as a mechanic, they aren't 100% necessary but add a lot to the strategic depth.
This is one of my favorite games that has been submitted so far. The style is wonderful and the gameplay is unique and engaging. Great job!
Thanks for playing! I'm glad you liked it
this game reminds me of graph theories for some reason.
5 stars.
Haha thanks! I am certainly using some concepts from there
This was a lot of fun! Good Job.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it
This is my favorite game so far. Loved the look of it. Loved the strategy. So professionally done. Really impressed. Only problem, I couldn't get it to work on Safari and had to use Chrome. Still, it was fantastic!
Hey, I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for the kind words. And yeah, I've heard Godot has some issues on Safari sadly.
Love the style of this game, and the puzzle is well executed too. It's already the complete package!
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it
Wow, this game is so polished, nice cute story. Enjoyed playing this,
Also very good choice of music.
Please forward this message to the CEO
Thanks! Your feedback about Space paste will be forwarded to the chairman.
Glad you liked the music! It was my forth attempt at making a soundtrack for the game, the earlier ones didn't really fit so I retried until I settled for this Lo-fi style. One of my favorite songs I've ever made actually.
Lo-fi is the best
Very well made! Very relaxing
I got stuck on a un-winable situation when I had a single triangle at the corner with a signal, and a single enemy following me, i can just go back and forth in the same place or die :(
Thanks for playing! Yeah, the AI can be rude and annoying at times, even if I have put a lot of effort into making it feel fair. I could perhaps create a rule preventing it from moving back and forth too many times in a row.
Waiting for app store release of this game! I could never think of such a mechanic lol! So innovative.
Thank you! My goal is to continue with the innovation and make something completely new again for next round :D
cant tell what the second mechanic is but i love the artstyle and vibe and the moving animations and impact feel crisp and lovely, great game!
Thanks! The mechanics are listed on the game page. Main: avoid the ships Secondary: Explore the stars you visit, explore all stars to progress to next level. I guess it's harder to make out the mechanics when they are so closely nit together.
Very cool game, excellent idea, it was fun to play
Thanks for playing!
I love the changes you made to adjust the view range and ability to move to areas where enemies currently are. It makes the game feel smoother to play. Great job!
Glad the game logic changes helped! I didn't change the view range though :P Maybe that means it wasn't that big of an issue to begin with, which is good!
Haha, after some testing, I found out that I got some random maps which looked smaller, making me think the view range was larger. Maybe the game logic change also affected how I perceived the view range. Anyway, it feels good after the game logic change. So it's not a problem .
Extremely well designed game, kept me playing through the whole thing. That last level was tough but helped me figure out some good strategies for navigating the game mechanics. Glad to have contributed to the ever-expanding market for space paste
I'm glad that you managed to find good strategies, and thank you for your contribution to the Space paste empire!
I really enjoyed your game.
The feedback and response from every movement.. the stresses of getting closer and closer to the enemies. It really kept me enthralled.
Well done!
Hey, thanks for playing! I'm happy to hear that my game kept you engaged.
Really cool game ! had a hard time finding a proper strategy and often end up in situation where i couldn't win. Art and story makes me want to see more of this !
Thanks! Sorry to hear you struggling. You may've been unlucky and got a really difficuly level, as all the levels are randomly generated! If you play again you may have an easier time (you can also get a new seed by pressing "G").
A stratigic tip is that you can try to lure all the ships to one corner of the map by walking on the stations, and then going to another spot while they are distracted.
Also just to make sure I hope you didn't miss the information about how ships won't follow you to stations of other colors, this is the key to stop them from chasing you.
Very interesting spin on Pac-man(?) Loved it! Very polished game.
Too polished ! What will you do in the next rounds !? ))
Thanks for playing! I was able to spent way too much time on this (70+ active hours) and that won't be the case in coming rounds sadly, but I'll definitely try my best to do more with less time!
Wow 70+ hours! I also tried to track development time, turn's out 22.5 hours (including hour-long struggle with itchio). And I thought this was too much )
But your 70 hours - it is well spent time in my opinion. Very neat game.
Thanks for the follow! I've been excitedly waiting the last couple days cause I've been close to a milestone, so now you're my 200th follower in itch!
Congrats )
Your name is perfect btw, considering my last gmtk jam submission was about a magpie. And yeah, my next round game is probably gonna be around the 24 hour mark in total too.
There are no coincidences in this world!
You gonna make a new game or expand this one?
We'll see depending on the theme/limitation of next round! But most likely I'll make a new one since it is easier and more fun
Somehow I ragequitted, very cool gaem
Haha, the anti-innovation fleets can certainly be rude at times. Thanks for playing!
Wow what a complete experience, very polished and well presented! The mechanics are really satisfying (Both as mechanics and because of how juicy stuff is) and engaging, not to complicated but requiring concentration and forward planning.
Amazing job!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for playing. I had the mechanics down within 10 hours of work, the remaning 60 were spent on polish haha. (I did indeed spend an unreasonable amount of time on this)
One of my favorite games this round. Great mechanics and very addicting.
Thanks! It means a lot :D
