A frightening look into a world where humans have been enslaved by sentient trucks with faces and forced to do landscaping work. 10/10

This was a lot of fun! I really appreciated that I got to progress to the next level even if I didn't do so hot on the previous ones. I like blowing the leaves around and it's very hectic trying to get them all into the truck in time but fun! I like the art a lot, especially the animation of the truck spitting out a coin, it was the best. It's also a very polished jam game. Great work on this!

Honestly this is a perfect jam game, and my favourite in this jam I've played so far. It has a unique and fun mechanic, presented in a stylish way, with good art and some storytelling. Also the fact that you don't even have to be good at it, you'll still progress and get to see all the levels is such an underrated thing for jam games, I do not want to be stuck on a level at all, so that you have a star system is great! Also I love the world map, it adds so much.

Only critique is that I didn't really feel the need for the shop or the power ups, it was fun anyways! I didn't even understand how to use the item I bought before at the end when I read the description (I thought you were supposed to click on it)

What would you say your main and secondary mechanics are?

Developer

Hey, thanks for playing the game! The primary mechanic would be the leafblower, and the secondary mechanic is the truck. My plans for the truck are to make its movement a bit more in-depth, with tracks that switch and such in longer levels. For now, the only real influence you can have on the truck is the break time powerup but there will be more in the future.

Love it, amazing work on the world map too! Would you implement flying with the leafblower that would be awesome!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing :)

yes, aerobatics with the leafblower are in the works, with upgrades that will increase air time etc.

Developer(+1)

thanks for playing. Yes, more upgrades will come. I also want to do some permanent upgrades / abilities as well.
As for full screen mode, I need to figure that out asap. thanks for letting me know.

turn it on on itch.io

it's already on, but for some reason it doesn't go all the way fullscreen. it might be something on gamemaker's end. not sure.

This was a a fun concept that came together nicely! The core mechanics were unique and worked well together. The physics based action was fun, silly and chaotic leading the the levels being a frantic rush to tidy up. I especially liked the implications with the extension cord and giving the player a short time on battery was a nice touch to allow for some strategy!

It was cool to see a world map and have it revealed piece by piece and have each map use a new mechanic to compliment the already established gameplay. each level felt distinct and like it added something to the experience, which is such an incredible thing to accomplish in a game jam and such a short time period!

The visual style really suited the gameplay and added an absurdist twist that made the whole thing charming, but a little bit unsettling. (When the machines pooped out the coins was a hilarious animation). Everything felt like one coherent world and it did a lot to establish some world building in the background that really made me want to explore more!

I liked the rating system which pushed me to try things again although 5*'s did feel a little impossible.

Really solid entry, thanks for making it!

thanks for playing and for the feedback. I do want to find ways to make 5 stars more achievable. I'm tossing around many ideas today.

This was really fun and polished. Satisfying, too. Would definitely want to see you expand on this idea in the further rounds.

Very cool game! lots of nice little features and attention detail in here, falling slower when pointing the leaf blower down, trash sinking slowly in water, all lovely great work! :D

Love it! What a cool game :) I love the fact that you fall slower when you're using your leaf blower to hold you up - such a nice touch. Hope you make it to round 2, would love to see this developed further!

Developer

Thank you! Likewise.
