What a good game. I love tutorial.

Fun concept, cool game! It was nice to play but I couldn't figure out how to pass the level with 2 bulls and 2 woods :(

Developer

Hey Archonei! Try getting one of the bulls to run into the grass that's near your spawn point... Bulls can break the green blocks and it creates extra items to use!

Submitted

Very cool puzzle game. I liked the crafting system a lot. I accidentally played thru the beginning so fast that the narration assumed I'd played the game before and stopped lol. Took me a little bit to figure out how some stuff worked, like the box being able to store items, but I got thru the whole game in the end. Great work on this!

Submitted

Props for being the first game I've run into this jam to have narration. The art style was interesting and audio was good. The crafting mechanic and certain puzzles were quite unclear at first but cleared up fast.

Submitted

Clever puzzle game.  I'm impressed with how much you got in here in two weeks.   I think with a little more time this could be great.  Would love to have some music and sounds (my game needs both too).  Best of luck with it.

Developer(+1)

There actually is music and sound implemented! Perhaps you stumbled across a bug! I'll look into it and see if I can't solve any issues with it for after the jam is over! It's a shame it didn't work for you though, the tutorial is fully narrated!

Submitted

I just tried your game again (using Safari) and there was no sound.  So, I fired it up in Chrome and, sure enough,  there was the sound and it was awesome.  I'm so sorry I missed that the first time.  I wonder how many other games had sound or music that I missed. :(

Now, I wonder if my game has similar issues.  It makes me realize I need to test my coding across multiple browsers.

Wow! I really like the voice over and how it react with how we play. The puzzle were interactif and fun, I look forward to see it in futur rounds

Submitted

This concept is great. I kinda wish that the already discovered crafting recipes were visible somewhere, but since this is just round one, thats no problem. The tutorial was a nice addition

Submitted

Wow loved this one !  I like the spoken tutorial and the mechanics are simple but fun to play with. Took me some time to see the "press R to restart" in top right corner.

I really had fun with your game. Congrats !

Submitted

Great puzzle game ! Very fun narration, it added a lot to the game )

And overall cool sound design (reminds me of Hidden Folks)

Find the bug, by the way - in the first level that hides the bull behind the wall. The bull sometimes charges through the wall even if I'm on the other screen )

Developer

Thanks for playing! So the bull charges through a wall is what you are saying? The bull is meant to charge even if you are off screen (it is the solution to a few different puzzles) but if he has developed the power to phase through walls i need to make some calls...

Submitted

yeah!  It was like that - I crafted that thing that broke walls and the bull killed me immediately. Then level restarts, the wall returns, but bull ignores it !

Developer

that is VERY strange... I'll look into it lol, sorry about that!

Submitted(+1)

Oh, it was nothing, it didn't bother me at all, just trying to be helpful )

Developer

I appreciate it!

Nice voice over! I was not expecting that. I missed the voice over when I finished the tutorial. You could do a lot of cool things with the voice-over.

Very cool game. Some extra colors or labels for the items would be nice, I had some trouble remembering what combinations of items made what.

Submitted

I love this game. Probably one of my favorites I have played so far. The voice-over is funny and gives me a Stanley Parable vibe. The mouth sound SFX and chill music fit the game very well. The mechanics are very creative. If you decide to expand this in the future round, you have a very solid base.
Great job!

Developer

Thank you ! I always loved the Stanley Parable! I appreciate your kind words.

Submitted

Loved the narration that really brings you into the game. The puzzles fit really well with the mechanic to make you think about making the proper choices and the proper times. Wonderful

Developer

Thank you so much for playing!

Submitted

Really loved your game! The Hidden Folks inspired sound design will forever be charming. The minimalist art style compliments the puzzles really well. Very easy to pick up, and can be made much more difficult if required.
Well done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!

Very fun! The replay easter egg is hilarious and the puzzles felt playfully designed in a way that was amusing but still made me feel clever for finishing.  Wonderful job!

Developer

Thank you! It means a lot!

I like the art of the game, it's made very cool, it's interesting to see more of these games. It took me a long time to figure out how all the controls worked, but when I did, it was very interesting)

Developer(+1)

There is a tutorial if you have the sound on, but unfortunately I didn't have time to add a screen telling this to players who were already playing without volume :(

Submitted

The game itself is a really well executed puzzle game, every level brings something new here and everything just works so well. I really liked playing it! The narrating is amazing as well, very fun, 10/10. I'm a little worried about the narrator tho, you might want to check if they got murdered or smth since they never came back to us.

Developer

I'm sure they're fine... You know how those work conversations go. (I forgot to add more lines at the end lol)

Submitted

Really fun puzzle game! I liked mixing the items to see what they could make, only wish I could have understood that all of them were a little better, I did a lot of trial and error.

Developer(+1)

Yeah, originally I planned to have little name tags once you picked up an item but it was one of those things that didn't quite make it in in time. Thank you for playing!

Submitted

That was super fun :)
I got run over by the bulls more than once :D .. I hope you make more levels at some point :)

Developer

Thank you! The bulls do seem to have hatred in their souls lol

Submitted

Well that was a really wholesome and nice experience! thankyou.

The tutorial was charming, funny and well executed. I feel bad for anyone who didnt read the instructions to have the sound on. It was giving me a homage to the Stanley Parable sort of vibes.

The game itself was well executed i think. It was nicely paced and gave me several "ahah!" moments, which i think is hard to do with game jam games. The puzzles ramped up nicely and built of previous knowledge to present more and more complex situations to try and solve. im pleased to say I made it to the end, despite some of the parts stumping me for a while (i felt like a genius when i realised how to get things over the X's)

The art style was charming and coherant. The music was nice, though a little loud.

I think my only issue is the reset room notice is a _little_ hard to read.... and its a pretty important notice because I ended up needing it alot 😅

Great game in a really nicely presented package that ties everything together, congrats on acomplishing it.

(also..... I feel like i need to highlight this😅:

SFX done predominantly through noises I made with my mouth... Try not to picture how hard I tried for the bull noises...)

Developer(+1)

Thank you lol, and those darn bull noises DID take forever, there seems to be a fine line between "bull" noises and "I just stuck my hand in a toaster" noises. Sorry about the music... I must have overcorrected when it was barely a whisper in GameMaker. Thank you again for playing!

Submitted

very creative of you
absolutely loved it!

Developer

Thank you kindly!
