Great level design and fun (and a little rage inducing) to play. Made it through til the end. I liked how far you could jump if you held space, it made for some cool level design that wouldn't been possible otherwise, and since you have the variable jump it didn't feel floaty. Three things I wished improved was:
1. Make the respawn a bit quicker
2. A little flash or something to let you know that the laser is turning on again (like 0.5s before it starts killing you)
3. Make it so if you are standing still on a button the laser doesn't reactivate (currently you have to exit and reenter it for it to not start again, which is completely understandable from a programming perspective, but it felt illogical in game)
It was tough, but enjoyable. I felt like the character moved master horizontally than vertically, which was unique
Good job on aesthetics, learning curve, and game in general. The final level was satisfyingly hard. One remark is, since up key isn't used you could have used it for jump.
That was fun :)
Very well put together all around. Good Job!
Love the ambience of this game! I'm not great at platformers, but I kept playing for as long as I could to try beat it! Didn't get very far, but still enjoyed it! Really amazing entry!
Nice platformer! The minimalist art is quite stylish with the colors and the bloom. I managed to get to level 11 (out of 12?). On that note it might be nice to number the levels, if it's an arcade-style game. Also the menu font could be made more easily readable.
Finally got around to your game. The mechanics are spot on and fit the prompt and knocked it out in the judging criteria. A good set of puzzle levels to work through. Could see this expanded with more level items. Awesome game!
I managed to complete all of the levels and it's great that you made so many and they are all really well designed. I like that it automatically saves the progress that you made too and that you can choose to revisit previous ones. Also your moving lasers are awesome! Not sure if anyone has mentioned it or not but I did notice the music stopped looping
Very fun, difficult, and amazing visuals! There were some times where the jumping felt a little off, but other than that I have no complaints!
Super super fun and stylistic game. Hyper-focused mechanics and levels designed with solely those mechanics in mind. Visuals and colors are both pleasing and efficient. Killer music and atmosphere. And most importantly to me, a fun and challenging game. Well done!!!
Easily one of the most polished games I've played so far and one of my favorites as well too. Great looking, great sounding, and challenging, but not impossible. This one's a winner.
Amazing game! Loved the tricky puzzles. It felt like I was fighting with the lasers a lot of the time, but that's the fun of the game. I would love to see this continued.
Thanks, Cosmic! That was the idea. Tells me where I need to go in terms of difficulty, though. Cheers!
I'll be honest, I would have preferred a full jump instead of a variable jump. I felt like I was fighting it the whole time. Otherwise, this was a great game! Challenging platformer.
Completely fair. I had started this as a metroidvania, where the early fall probably would've made more sense. I'll consider adjusting it for future rounds. I appreciate the feedback, p4songer. Cheers!
Gameplay was really intense. I never seen such mechanics, but i really enjoyed playing it. Very unique style of level design and use of movement. Really good game. One of my favourites!
Thanks, TerrinTin! That's a pretty high complement and I appreciate it.
This game made me break my monitor
My work here is done. Mwahaha! Appreciate you playing, fire.
Wow. Just... wow. This game has changed my life. I laughed, I cried, I transcended. My cat even started playing, and now she's better than me. 11/10, would play again forever. Critics are calling it 'the Citizen Kane of rage inducing platformer games.' A true masterpiece that has set the bar for all future games. Bravo, me. Bravo. 😤✨
XD
loved the whole laser vibe, and really enjoyed the devlog! (hope to manage to get my own out soon)
The moving lasers were always catching me off guard, really appreciated the SFX and the particle effects, made me smile in my own failures. At some point even the music gave up on me dying all the time and stopped.
I'm going to sleep now and my brain will have the "pew-choof" on repeat with little squares trailing off
A simple and understandable game in a good sense, good work
Thanks, Shegi!
Very cool game!
Rage inducing difficulty of the levels kept me wanting to complete it.
The retro art looks nice and the music has a good beat, with a sense of urgency; both compliment the style of game well.
Overall the mechanics align with the Jam Task well.
Great job!
Thanks for the kind words, Chambo. Some good feedback there!
The levels are mostly well paced and provide a good sense of progression. Jumping feels a little too floaty but that doesn't hurt the movement too much. The player seems to stick to walls and ceilings, that did get on my nerves a little bit.
I noticed that when watching a few people play through. Already got the sticking issue taken care of. Hopefully.
Thanks for the feedback, Erebus. Was fun chatting with you on stream last night!
Neat little game, I will leave more feedback for you on Discord. Great job.
Thanks, Loten! You gave some great feedback. Appreciate you!
