Game's Take on the Theme
The player and the bosses are all spinners. Without spoiling anything, some of the bosses have attacks that incorporating spinning in some way as well

Did your team make the majority of the art and music during the jam?
Sound and music are from Pixabay. I made everything else

Super fun! The whole draining health bar mechanic is sick and I love how it forces you to engage against the bosses. I really enjoyed the last boss especially and how you have to narrowly dash through projectiles to parry and stay in the fight. Made for some great moments. Amazing stuff! 5/5

Fire game, it is simple to understand but action is quick and precise. Loved the second boss concept!

Awesome game!  The gameplay is clean and the boss attacks were well telegraphed all around.  Excellent work!

Cool game!
It's awesome to see that we had a similar idea but executed it in different ways.

Really good job man!

This game was super sick! Smooth controls, a great risk reward style of play where you want to play aggressively to keep yourself alive. I always want to just push forward and hit hard in video games so this hit the spot perfectly for me. A good variety of boss types. I loved the "I'm you, but stronger" final boss, always a good trope. Only tiny nitpick is that I would love for there to be a ranking system so I can go for high scores. You have a score system that works really well but I want to have a "reach this score to be turbo awesome" kind of system so I have an excuse to replay the game more.

Excellent work, really hoping you win something for this!

I liked the art and the color code that clearly communicates what needs to be done.

The tutorial is clear and I think you quickly learn to play.

I loved that the parry, the meele and the shoot interact in some way in conjunction with the player's health bar, forcing an aggressive and fast combat style.

Very cool game!

Cool game! Fellow nice to see I'm not the only one who immediately though beyblade when they hear the theme :P

Submitted(+2)

I totally watched Beyblade growing up and this was a dope reminder of that. I liked how you handled the camera work in the boss stage.  It was fun to have so many options to attack.

What an amazingly executed game. I loved every second of it.  The fighting was super exciting and the constantly dropping health really had me constantly locked in.

That attack where the boss has the multiple spinning lines surrounding it and then charges is pretty punishing. Was a real jaw dropper.

Your take on the theme is great (in fact I also first thought of doing something like Beyblades but then couldn't see how I could make it really fun, but you just proved me otherwise). I loved the art style. This is definitely one of my most favorite games in the jam. I really liked the overall atmosphere your game created with the music and the art. Also the controls are great just like in all of your games as well as your visual effects. It is also a pleasure to play your games. Great Job.

Music and SFX - I loved the rock feeling combined with the fast paced spinning around, The sound effects are good and very informative for the player

Theme - Perfectly executed! From the design of attacks or bosses i can see the word Spin everywhere

Controls and Mechanics - Very intuitive and easy to have a grasp of, The mechanics are very well tought. I personally love the green objects that restore health and can be deflected, they add a nice feeling of "i'm good" when done right!

Art - a 3D game in a month for sure its a good challange, from all aspects i think the art is the one that had more potential to develop, altought it does a good job at comunicating the mechanics, but it doesn't give us a "believeable world" to insert ourselves into

Overview - a very good game overall! the programing seems very polished and the concepts are well executed! Nice job

Intro was really good! I felt that the fact that you had to average out between the long distance and up close and personal hits was really well balanced, and I enjoyed the boss designs!

Incredibly well-crafted game! It’s very fun, the bosses are really creative and well-designed. The aesthetic is very beautiful, and really made me want to play when I opened the game page.

The only issue I have with it is that I can’t move properly while pressing multiple directions and shooting at the same time. I had this problem in the web build, not sure if it also happens in the Windows build, though.

Anyway, really great game!

Developer

Sounds like an issue with keylock maybe ?

No idea why it only happened in the web build though.

Thanks for playing :)

That final boss took years off my life, I was clenched up for that entire final phase and I can't even describe the sense of release I felt when I finally beat it. That's the sign of a fantastically designed boss right there, and really just a testament to how fun this game is from start to finish. I love how much it pushes the player to strive for perfection, every mechanic pushes the player to not make a single mistake, to the point where there isn't even any immunity after getting hit which I'm actually a massive fan of. I do have one qualm though, which is how it feels to hold the fire button, it took me about 10 minutes to beat that final boss, and throughout that time I had my hand held on the K button for 90% of it and it started to feel genuinely uncomfortable. I'm always of the opinion that if something requires constant holding or mashing in an action game then it should probably automatic. Either that or pressing K toggles fire on or off, that way you can still have the multi-tasking of having to turn off fire to spin.

That aside though this game is BRILLIANT

Developer

I did originally think of having shooting be a toggle, but I felt like people may forget it's on or off in the heat of the fight, so maybe it was best to just have it be held lol

Either way, thanks for playing :)

Simple yet very good game. I find the 2nd boss (the parry to change spin direction one) get a bit annoying near the last phase where it hard to shoot it. Other than that boss design are creative and well-made. The music is high-energy and suit the game too!

Likely the most fun I've had so far. I'll be honest, I kinda wrote it off when I saw that it was a spinning top game, but you did an excellent job incorporating mechanics to still make it fun and novel. Love the retro style. Love the heavy tracks.I would have preferred to have an option to utilize LMB/RMB, but using keyboard worked fine too.

sweet entry! i like the simple polished aesthetic. boss 3 posed quite a decent challenge. the results screen didnt seem to scale properly on my aspect ratio but thats understandable. enjoyed the spin combo system a lot

Cool game, easy to pick up but challenging at the same time. Good work!
