Cool, music was good, fitted nicely, animations were fine, but I did find the FPS was a little slow and I'm running on an i9 with a 4070, which should have no trouble with a sprite-based game, maybe you had some inefficient loops every frame or something? Overall fun though and I enjoyed it.

Loved this one. Was fun and like the main character! More of this!

Nice game, enjoyed the aesthetic/style and animations are well done. Any game with fireballs is cool!

Definetly solid good game. Musics are very good. I have two constructive comment. First one, if you can add cross running it would be nice. Second thing is when you restart the game (lost) it takes too much time to start again. But these are small points so really appreciated your effort.

Very fun game! I liked how everything from the control scheme to the visuals to the sound design all felt like it could have come from the golden age of arcade cabinets. I definitely would have slotted some quarters into this as the gameplay loop is addictive. Excellent work!

Great game! Everything just feels really polished and cohesive between the visuals and audio. It just feels like a game that I actually could have rented back in the day and had a great weekend with.

Excellent work!

Love the art style, and the theme is nice too, the controls were the only section that was a bit frustrating to me, no diagonal movement and not being able to change direction without letting go of previous input was a little frustrating, and the same with having to attack in your movement direction. Overall only minor issues, could have a lot of fun climbing a leaderboard with this style of game

I really like the pixel art you used and the retro vibes. The screen clear powerup was a cool idea.

Nice entry! Like some others have pointed out already, I would like to be able to move diagonally. Also, would be nice you can fire in the direction of the mouse cursor rather than in the direction the player is facing.

I liked the visuals and pixel art, nice job! I think adding in diagonal movement would help with some of the stickiness in the player movement.

Nice job, this game is well put together, the animations are satisfying. My only complaint the way the movement input works. I'd expect it to prioritize the last directional input pressed rather than the first if you have multiple pressed at the same time, I think that's why other people here have said the input feels weird.  Overall though this is a good jam game, great work!

I love fireballs

Good job! Fun game, art and music really fit. I wish there were more enemies and maybe one more ability to shoot! Still good tho! Oh and the controls were kinda hard but it was fine once u got used to them

The game feels so good to play!
The simple mechanics are really giving a retro vibe.

At first the single key input register felt very limiting, but after a few minutes of playing it felt like part of the gameplay, which is really nice. I'd say its challenging, but in a fair, balanced way :D

It would be super cool to have more enemy types to spice up things even more!
Overall, I really enjoyed playing, great work!

Very nice to play and very addictive! The gameplay is easy to learn and hard to perfect. Something I recommend if you plan to continue the project after the Jam is to allow the player to shoot in different directions while walking. Anyway, good Job!

It's like Django but without diagonal shooting and power ups to boost the adrenaline play.

You have nice narrative system, but I think it's not really fit with the game genre since it's a bit too slow.

At first I thought it'd automatically shoot like vampire survivor :D

Thanks for playing!

It is a simple and good game! Greatjob!

I really liked the dungeon/demon theme

Very cool game! I like the pixel art style and the idle animation for the main character holding fireballs in both hands. I'm not sure why, but there were some points where the character didn't seem to respond very well to input, like it was getting stuck on some invisible object.

Developer

Thanks for checking it out! Not sure about what happened with the input. Maybe some animation issue.

Love the Art style, Sound and Music.
The Animations feel great too, however I think the controls could be improved maybe with the diagonal movement mentioned before.

In total, very cool and inspiring project!

Thanks for playing!

Nice work! All of your imported assets worked well together and the game was enjoyable to play. It would been nice if you could move diagonally, but that wasn't a deal-breaker. It was real satisfying to kill those skellies

Developer

Thank you!
