Really great level design that offer some "badass" moment, congrats on the physic btw :p

Controls were a bit clunky and took me a while until I realised I had to turn back. Also not sure if I missed it, but there is no jump-key - right?

A few times I accidentally pressed SPACE and had to start over. And at some point I wanted to flip a switch, but that didn't worked ... and the boulder rolled back to the start.

But overall nice concept ^^

I think the plot you tell through the jam's theme is very good. It feels like as a mortal one you can defeat the will of the gods.

The only thing that bothers me is that the controls were a bit clunky, as the player character can fly in the air for a long time.

Despite that, i really think you did a good job with your submission.

Good stuff, I was a bit confused that I had to return to the start area, but once I got that the game was off :D I loved the twin level element, good fun. Dev sounded like they knew exactly what to tweak for the future, also Checkpoints :D

Great game! How this little man pushes this big rock! Looks very cool. It's nice the rock gets velocity and you jump from lava and press buttons. Good job

The momentum of the boulder is quite fun and I like the physics of the boulder, it's quite Rube Goldberg machine-esque! I did get stuck quite a bit and had to reset quite a bit, it would be great to have a checkpoint system to make resetting less frustrating. Also I kept resetting the game by pressing SPACE thinking it was going to be a jump button! Oops!

Great Concept. The boulder feels weighty and that's a good thing. Really captures the struggle of pulling a heavy object.

BTW, Would love for you to try my game too.

It is an Action Platformer with unique controls.

Nice idea, was fun to sling the bolder around. Main issue was the physics as others have noted, and I often hit space to interact with e.g. buttons / switches which made me go back to the start (but that's my fault!)

First of all, using the story of Sisyfaux instead of a generic "guy chained to a boulder" was a really nice detail!

As the others have commented, the physics feel weird, specially Sisyfaux gliding around the air. I also had a lot of problems trying to roll the boulder down from ramps, since most of the time it would go straight into the air and crashing on the slope instead of rolling.

The game design was pretty neat. Each "zone" had a different little puzzle on it. The art and the music were also a good decision. I think it would benefit greatly from checkpoints.

I really like the idea and level design, but the glitchy physics and lack of checkpoints make it frustrating. Spacebar as reset may not be the best choice, either, as it's easy to press on accident. Edit: okay, yeah, I've accidentally pressed space twice  now and fell in lava once and I'm going to have to take a break because that's so annoying and it's not fun to have to grind through the beginning again.

The buttons and switches could use more feedback to let you know when they've been depressed/flipped, and to show what they did. The first two, especially, since they require backtracking after being used and that feels unintuitive at first.

Overall, fun but buggy/glitchy!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! And sorry that our dumb design ideas annoyed you! Our biggest mistake was probably that reset button and making it so easy to press (And putting it on the screen to imply you should press it). If we had more time we also would have had added a checkpoint system to make it so you didn't need to start again from the beginning.

I hope at some point in the future we can revisit the idea and make a far less buggy version.

As others have said, the physics need some work. I could see this being really fun if the physics and controls were tightened up.

Physics are pretty janky, i think you are setting y velocity to 0 when walking, since player doesn't fall when moving in air, also the space bar being a restart button made me click it on aciddent, i really liked the idea, it's pretty original

Developer(+1)

Yeah the tether and boulder was a nightmare for us. I'll have a look at the y-velocity to see what it is. Thanks for playing!

Fun, but the physics feel inconsistent, it's really hard to control. Fits the theme really well!

love it, my game started out as a Sisyphus-themed adventure as well, I wish I stuck with the theme it's such a good one

This is a super original idea, and I think if you just tweak the physics a bit it could be a great game.

Submitted(+1)

Fun idea, and I love the theme! The physics is quite glitchy though, often you can fly all over the place from swinging the boulder over you.

Quite fun idea. The onboarding takes a long time and I got through pretty much the most of the map by flying. I like the general feel a lot!
