The game looked fantastic, and I loved bunny hopping around. I wish there were some form of a way to help show where enemies are coming from because there were plenty of times I was just killed from behind and I had no indication they were coming from there
Certainly, I'm going to be working on a big balancing & polish pass post-jam. It's way too easy to just get unfairly killed right now, so that's the first big fix I'll be working on :)
Thank you a ton for the feedback!
Cool game, I loved it! Nice artwork too, the color scheme really sets the mood. I felt like the smelter was real haha.
I'm really glad you had a good time playing :)
Very intresting multi-purpose mechanic. I liked the retro-style 3D artstyle. Great game overall!
Thanks for playing!
I'm happy you were able to enjoy my game :)
i like the visuals - 3d pixel art is awesome!
I'm glad you liked the visuals!
Thanks for the kind words :)
A really interesting concept, and a great little tutorial and design. I had trouble seeing why I died though, and I think sound may have helps. But hey, that's a 48hr Jam for ya.
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I think I should have planned things out from the start a bit better or been a bit more open to forming a small team to have a friend do sound design. After seeing how much sound added to some of the other jam entries, I definitely feel how it could have helped here hahah
Thanks again :)
Very fun gameplay. I like the idea. Absolutly love the 3d pixelated effect !
Didn't manage to get a very hight score. the ennemies are maybe a bit too fast and hard to avoid or kill when they come behind you a radar or minimap would have solved that issue I think.
Appart from that great concept. I had fun playing.
I'm glad to hear you were able to enjoy the game!
I definitely will be trying some things out post-jam, the current state of things is a bit rough and far too unfair, I totally agree
Thanks for the feedback!
Great Game I enjoyed it!
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
The pixel art is so warm and beautifull. I like the mechanics and the way you move. It will be nice to know how much health you have left but overall that a great game, good one !
I'm glad you were able to enjoy my game :)
Thank you for the feedback!
Love the pixelated 3D graphics! Reminded me of old school first person shooters. Only complaint was getting hit in the back, maybe by having a life bar and a way to restore health that wouldnt be so bad. But overall great game!
I'll definitely be trying some things out to reduce those unfair deaths, or at least when those bad situations come up you'll have a good chance to at least attempt to dodge them.
Thank you a bunch for the feedback, it really helps me grow :)
I like the pixel 3d art style it's very unique. However, I found it extremely difficult not to get killed by the enemies
Definitely, I ran out of time for testing at the end and I really regret it, I had an intended style of play that the game doesn't tell you about and honestly there's no way to know. Bad design there hahah I hope to polish it out and get it on the next swing though!
Thanks for playing and big thanks for the feedback!
Like everyone else said, I liked the art style, and in all the same ways too.
The game play was interesting and I liked the moment to moment choice of compress, fire into smelter, fire at enemy, or move. And it was fun to play, my score was 1020.
I had issues with the visibility though. I kept dying to enemies I couldn't see, which wasn't fun. I'd be having a blast dodging enemies and shooting only to run into one behind me.
Good entry!
Solid score!
Yeah, I agree about getting blindsided being the biggest flaw. I hope with sound that will help fix the issue, and if after testing things aren't better, I'll be adding an indicator ring to help track enemies. Visually, I'll be extending the palette and making them slowly glow to help make them more noticeable :)
Thank you very much for the feedback, and thank you a ton for playing!
Hey really love the old-school 3D game style! Beautifully done.
As for the gameplay, look into balancing! Maybe if the recharge was a single tap, I'd have a chance at blasting the baddies while simultaneously jumping in circles avoiding them. 😅
But good work! The environment is really well done and throwing the ball of scrap feels amazing.
I'm looking heavily into balancing the game for the next version, I agree, right now things are quite shallow and (unfairly) difficult! I'd like to get it to be fair & difficult so the gameplay is a bit more focused on good placement, juking, and still trying hard to smelt metal.
I got some fun ideas from player such as holding mouse to fire the metal as a stream ( rather than a ball ) and when an enemy is destroyed you'll auto collect scrap from them. So it'll make destroying enemies more rewarding, or at least we'll see in testing hahah
Thanks for the feedback! It's really helping me a lot to see everyone's ideas and comments :)
This is hard but I don't think it's hard in a bad way. Love devil daggers so of course I enjoyed this. Love how it looks too. Best score is 1150 but i kinda want to try for higher
Great job!
Of the scores I've been sent, I think 12k is the highest (he's a really good bhopper hahah) then 3k and then ~1k, so that's a great score!
Thank you very much for playing!
I really like it!
The game is hard, but I like hard games.
Makes you think about what you want to do, and plan you actions, while dodging and shooting.
Really polished, and I liked the low res filter.
Well done!
Thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback!
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it :)
Kinda neat. It reminds me of Tribes in a way. I never quite figured out how to win.
Good eye! The movement is based on those style of games and their meta bunny-hopping gameplay! In retrospect, I really should have given that diagonal speed bonus to all jumping directions to help make it more clear how to control the game. I plan on working that all out in a later release :)
As for winning, there is no real ending as I want the focus to be on getting the highest score you can and self challenging to get better and better
Thanks for playing!
Really hard but also really fun
Glad to hear you enjoyed it :)
Thank you for playing!
Really good graphics! The idea is cool. The game is challenging. Maybe you can add sounds:). My best score is 500
Thank you for the suggestion, I definitely want to add good sound effects, I think they would really help the gameplay and setting the tone of the world the game is in :)
Glad you had fun, and nice score!
I loved the pixel graphics for the game, unfortunately it seemed to lag quite a bit so I wasn't able to enjoy it fully.
Yeah, I really regret not uploading a downloadable version as well. I got my submission in 3 minutes before the deadline and only realized an hour after that that would probably be an issue for people. Sorry to hear!
I'm still very glad you could enjoy the visuals of the game though!
Like everyone else, the visuals in your game are fantastic - that pixelated 3D aesthetic is so nostalgic!
Maybe a spawn sound could be a quick way of addressing the "visibility" of the enemies?
Great work! : )
I totally agree, I'll definitely be giving that a shot!
Loved the sound design in your game by the way, super tactile!
Thanks for the feedback :)
Wow, this game is absolutely gorgeous! Really love the art.
The gameplay was also fun, I like the dichotomy of wanting to make the biggest compression, but also wanting to look around for safety, great design.
Overall, great work!
Thank you! I'm really happy to hear you enjoyed the mechanics and visuals of my game :)
