got really mad (in a good way) with this one!! difficult game!!

I am very bad at platformers but I persisted for the cute lil lizard friend. Very fun animations every time I went splat (which was often :')) )

This is quite the challenge! Very cool design! Love the animation when the player falls a long distance...not that I did that, of course :P

Pretty fun take on a rage platformer game, and the art style is really solid. I've been playing it for a while just trying to get past the opening of the desert area, lmao.

The physics can definitely be tightened up a bit; the sluggish air controls are part of the genre, but feel kind of like overkill in this case and can be toned down a little. Some of the mechanics also don't feel particularly consistent, specifically the air gusts and quicksand platforms - The Desert area seems to expect you to do platforming off of the sand platforms, but the jump height you get off of them is random and feels like getting through an area that uses them is more luck than skill.

Overall, it's still very solid and keeps my attention for a long time, which is rare for a platformer like this because I get pretty bored quickly. Great job!

thanks for the feedback! And props for getting to the desert area! I think most people don’t have the patience for the genre (especially in a game jam). I had a hard time coding the quicksand, I didn’t know how to balance it, but maybe holding jump can be a way to make it more consistent.

Incredibly polished. It sounds great, looks great, and feels pretty good.

Sadly I don't really play foddian games, just not a genre I enjoy. As such, i am not much use reviewing them.

Regardless, great work on creating such a focused and polished experience.

Very cute game! Gotta love a simple but punishing platformer haha

Very cute idea! I did have some issues with the controls as in the jump-to platforms sometimes felt like they were positioned just a bit too precisely with the jump height so it was kinda easy to miss it

Enjoyable platformer! I think more responsiveness from the controls would have helped (being able to change direction in a jump) but I found it still fun. I really like the art assets that were used as well :)

Very nice style to the game! I did not get super far  unfortunately, because precision platformers are already tricky for me and I felt like the controls were a bit finicky making it even harder. I did like finding the little animals hiding around the map! Great work for 96 hours!

The music in this absolutely slaps. The controls were a little unresponsive at times, but it was overall a good job.

Very brutal, but on a more serious note I would recommend adding some delay to the slipperiness of the jump because it feeks kind of weird that it also applies if you walk off a ledge. I liked how the jump felt though.

Oh and also, banger music!

A fun game

I liked the art style choice. I'm not a fan of the lack of responsiveness while in the air, but I can tell that it was probably intentional. In any case, I had fun, so good job!

In a precision based platformer tight responsive controls are necessary in order for the player to have  a fair chance to complete the task. I felt like there were too many obstacles that force me to jump at a specific timing that was not clear so I kept messing up and it feel fair.  I would work on the coyote time and making sure collision don't accidentally cause a player to fall.

A nice fun and challenging platformer, which like mentioned in the description does present itself having inspiration from jump king, but does not just copy. You have a nice approach to the movement which allows for you to be precise and if not calculated the jump right you fall and repeat. Good fun.

Thank you for the stream submission! I never did manage to get to the top after trying a second time, but at least I managed to get one more room up afterwards. Very challenging and very tight movement!
