I got to the end! Fun puzzles navigating a file system

Submitted

I'm quite bad at puzzles, so I couldn't get to the end, but I think the idea and the implementation are excelent! Also it matches the jams theme so well

I like the idea of a haunted computer and going through file systems. Mini games like that always get me going in other games. I had no problem until the end, and then I got decently confused before figuring it out. A little more audio might have been nice, the effects that are there are appropriate and nice.

Very neat and very simple game, pretty well made

Some feedback Minor Spoiler Alert (for those who haven't played yet):
The level 4 puzzle felt a bit lackluster, I feel like it would've been cool if the 2 weights had file sizes and then you have to even them out. Would've added that 1 extra layer that would've made the puzzle interesting
Some BGM or Atmos sounds would've added that little extra touches to make it cleaner and more fleshed out

I was actually really sad how quick that ended and wanted to explore more and work on more puzzles! Great job for your first godot jam!

I do love the idea of exploring a file system and finding things!

Nice game.  Fit the theme perfectly.  Got stuck on Level 5 but your comments below helped.  I don't know why I didn't read all the way to the bottom of the dog file.  Maybe window sizing and resolution had something to do with it.  Though it seems like you had the right hints.  Anyway, the game was fun and it was streamlined.  I didn't expect the sound at the end so that was a good jump scare.  I wish there was more ambiance.  Games like these I feel better when it feels like it transports that player to a fictional location of the computer environment (e.g. PC Building Simulator does office, fan, environmental noises and adds a feature to play music tracks in the computer UI).  Probably needs a few more graphic UI/UX touches like window animations.  Thank you for the game.

Cool game! fun concept! But, I wish i didn't have to press f4 to close files. Also, I think it needs more spoopy stuff as a horror fan.

Developer(+1)

F4 was only for those that wanted to play entirely with keyboard, pressing the X icon also works :-)

I got stuck on level 5, I tried typing in the 5 letter word in the doghouse in level 2 but it didnt work. Pretty cool game though.

Developer

Sounds like it's working for others, did you type the 5 letter word (starting with 'v') into the "5 letter" text file, and then look in the mysterious file?

Glad you liked the game!

Cool concept! It was fun to think about how you achieved some of the different UI interactions through the engine.

Pretty cool use of control nodes, very creative construction of riddles, outstanding submission.

The concept is pretty cool and original. I love the fact that you made it that it is possible to have multiple windows open and drag them in diffrent places

Fun and original submission! I like the take on the theme!

Congratulations on your first wild jam! It’s a fun concept that could have been taken further. I would have liked some background music or ambience sounds to set the mood though.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I only started working on it on Friday, two days before the end. I was considering expanding the game in a post jam version/ more fleshed out game :-)

Really really cool! Short, simple and very creative, loved the ending too.

Great game - fun, clever and a good length for a jam game. I like the haunted Windows XP background.

Submitted

Good game, I like it.

Short and fun, I liked it. How did you implement the draggable windows? I'll need something similar for a future project.

Developer

I used Godot's built in "Window" node :)

Submitted

Fun idea and lvl2 really funny, but i have stuck on the lvl5

Developer

Hint: Check the doghouse in level 2

Wow, a whole window manager in godot! LOL I liked this one, kinda felt like a digital forensics thing.

Submitted

Wow, that was neat! I did solve the scales on accident, but I guess that'll just happen sometimes. Fun puzzles!
