I didn't get the token bit right away, but once I got rolling this was a lot of fun
If this were to be fleshed out, I think a further camera would help (to see the fans and the attendees more) and maybe different controls for the throwing, the scrolling always felt awkward to me. But I like the little machine you make, especially once you have a ton of fans at your disposal.
Also, tall order I know, but more movement from the fans during the conversion and after would be awesome, them all sitting there (on top of each other usually) is less fun than seeing a whole swarm following you
Lotta potential here, I like it

I think the game is bugged. I don't see any followers, just the collectable icon on the floor.

Developer

If you move around the level, are there other fans (Otomos, Takos, Pebbles and Jailbirds)? You don’t actually start with any followers, you first have to convert other fans for them to become followers.

To do this, you walk over the blue tokens to pick them up, then select them with your mouse wheel or the 4 key (the icon in the bottom right, showing you how many tokens you have, becomes a bit bigger once selected) and throw them at whoever you want to convert (it takes 10 tokens for the small ones and you get 5 for every collectible). And once they’re converted, you move the target circle over them while holding right click, then they will follow you.

Otherwise, if there really are no fans roaming the level, then it would indeed seem to be a bug.

I see, I finally got to playing it once I learned how to use the tokens to convert the fans that are wandering about.

A keybinding can be added above each resource so players know which buttons to press to select them as ammo. I didn't know that the blue tokens could be used as ammo, which causes a bit of confusion.

Very fun game!  The pikmin-like gameplay is really fun, it's always satisfying to gather an army and turn the world to the Tentacult- I mean befriend the world.

I will say, the first few times I tried to pick it up, I didn't realize you had to middle-click to throw so I was really confused what I was supposed to do, and just closed it down thinking it was broken.  And even once I figured it out, middle-clicking tends to scroll the mouse, meaning suddenly I'm throwing something I didn't intend to.  But other than that, it was great!

I loved the upgrade names and what they did, the environment was fun to explore and the art was cute, the gameplay was really enjoyable, fantastic work over just two weeks!

Thanks! Just fyi, you can also press spacebar to throw follower/tokens. I does even say so in the tutorial, but I’m aware that the big wall of text is probably a bit overwhelming and difficult to parse (would have definitely liked to do this differently, had I had more time).

Oh, and speaking of: you can bring up the tutorial again from the pause menu, which you can get to by pressing escape. Which I just now noticed I never even mentioned existed, so thanks of reminding me, I’ll add that to the controls in the description.

I really really like this game. The non-linear structure gives it so much replay value, especially trying to get my score as high as I could. The core is incredibly solid. I wish there was a quick restart button in the pause menu and after getting a game over, but otherwise I've got not complaints. Great work!

I found myself compelled to not quit until my score was 100% and even though it was stressful, it was very enjoyable. Its nice that the gameplay strategy isn't linear since the player can choose to prioritize new skills, multiple lower tier enemies or even a quick Tier 3 enemies to progress faster. Can't think of much improvements other than it seems that shooting the fans when very close to the enemy fan seems to not do anything.

Lots of fun, good job!

pretty good. Fits the corruption theme nicely. Another bit of challenge probably adding a way for others to corrupt your followers.

I really enjoyed this game!

It's fun to throw around fans to let them do the "conversion" process while you keep searching for the next "candidate". Having an army of followers felt so satisfying too. My best score was 80.6%

Some improvement suggestions for after the jam:

- A retry or return to title button in the game over screen

- A minimap (to easily locate new "candidates" and shops)

- Add animations

Nice concept, a few balancing would be great, I also found some bug where you can make your fans thrown outside of the map (stuck on a wall)  and unable to call it back.

overall, nice work

The core loop and amassing a bunch of followers is really cool and satisfying to see that grow, and how effective the higher levels are. I felt like the merch stands could be maybe a bit more frequent, took me a while to get upgrades my first go around. Nice work!

Fun little game! Converting all into takodachis with this one XD Took me a bit to understand that you need to shoot these Points first before having some followers but after that it was all fun and games xD It is addicting and managed to get 100% corruption on my 2nd try.

Developer

Good to know getting to 100% is actually possible, I wasn't able to test it before uploading. Thanks for the comment!

Simple but very fun!

Simple and fun, UI looks great. its addicting to gather an army to throw and watch their resistance fall.
Would be nice to see the mascots do more than just standing around though.
Also, maybe there are time constraints, but adding some simple bobble and sprite flip could break away from the "png"ness of the game.
Overall, does what it needs to and is really fun as a game, good job!

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, squash and stretch animations were planned, but unfortunately I ran out of time.
