Did you work in a team?
This is a solo game
Was the resolution a challenge?
Creating small sprites is always a challenge. I kept it as simple as I could.
What did you learn?
My focus was on the kicking mechanic because I have a bigger game in mind that will use something similar. I learned a lot in the process, trying to keep things fun without becoming too challenging.

Ok, that’s fun. Learning curve to play => 0, learning curve to be somewhat good => > 0 Simple. Elegant. Cool.
Thanks a lot Randy!
Nice use of the small screen! I like everything from the visuals to the animated logo to the BG. I believe the minimalism very well here and can't think in anything I would recommend to change.
:) very good job!!!!
High praise indeed 🙇♂️. Thank you Roberto.
I think this is the funniest game I have played considering the submissions of this game jam so far!
I'm amazed how a simple idea turned out to be a funny-as-hell game. It definitely is addicting, and even though it lacks certain polish elements, it feels great to play the game. Sound design is also awesome, and I adore what you did with the animations in a simple but effective way!
Solid entry, loved what you did there, well done!
Cheers Beez! I was aiming for fun and stupid so it made me very happy to read your review.
So good! my best score for now is 40 \o/ but after seeing someone got over 100 I have to try it a bit more ^^ those short sharp hip-ups are the strat ;) really good game, and amazing audio!
Thanks a lot! Really appreciate the kind words.
I managed to score over 500 but that was after an awful lot of playtesting. If you manage to score over 100, you are doing great. My strategy is to try to get high, straight shots by hitting the skull near the end of the leg and timing it so that the leg is close to horizontal at the moment of collision. It takes more practice but it gets you a more predictable arc and more time to reposition Uppy (I've just decided that's their name).
Nice little game. I didn't notice right away that the background was the score, haha.
Thanks Jack :D
Funny little game, good fun for a quick break. Maybe some more character put into the skull would make it more entartining… like rolling it, wide-eyed, in pain… Idk, some comical factor ;)
Nice job with a good implmentation of a simple but effective idea.
Thanks SlainteES! Yes, some extra animation would be good, in the body too.
Good game concept, but it would be better to add the opportunity of loss. I'd also appreciate some difficulties or levels.
Thanks for the feedback!
Consistent pixel art style with very few colors that fits the quirky undead theme :) Sound and music also fit well
Simple but fun mechanics that need a bit of training to master…
Good very simple but complete game - Great job :)
Thanks a lot mate 👍
That was great! and this would work really well on a phone it think, overall really fun.
Thanks a lot Matt! I’m going to give that some consideration.
So simple yet super fun! Good job
Thanks n0va!
Good fun! Takes me back to playing the hackysack minigame from California Games on the NES! This would make a good mobile game for sure. I also like how you incorporated the score into the background.
Thanks! I honestly hadn’t thought about this as a possible mobile game but with a few changes I think it might be viable. I will certainly give it some thought.
Simple game but still pretty cool, I could imagine playing this to pass the time for a few minutes on my phone.
Thanks!
Loved the mechanics of the leg. Being able to kick at different angles and positions to transfer different inertia to the head. Immediately thought this mechanic could work really well for a multiplayer volley-like game.
Cool nice details:
Thanks efejjota! Glad you liked it.
I added a heavy wah-wah effect to the drum solo and slowed it down so you get this slowly changing distortion. At its heaviest it gives the drums a kind of blowing, windy sound and I think that's what makes it seem like mouth sounds.
Very simple concept executed very well, most satisfying when knocking the head as far up as possible and running around to catch it before the next big kick. More mechanical incentive to play in this manner rather than juggle as low as possible (outside of personal challenge) might have been welcome. Simple visuals remain readable and give a good sense of charm. Oddly fitting music.
Thanks minichibis. Glad you liked it. That's a good observation and one for me to keep in mind for the future. Adding something to aim for at the top of the screen would be a fun addition.
Haha this is amazing. The strength of a minigame is really the feel of it's core mechanic and this feels great, it is really satisfying when you get that perfect kick when the head hits right at the end of your leg. It helps that it's also funny :D
Thank you Mag. Happy you liked it!
This was awesome! Really fun to play and I love the score in the background!
Thanks a lot! The jumbotron is getting a lot of love.
It's funny, I just played a game that had a minigame similar to this yesterday, and here yours is. Yours is considerably better. The bouncing felt just right and I was able to predict accurately where the head would go while planning my shots. This is an excellent example of how you someone can take a simpler concept and really nail the execution.
Thank you so much Kevin. I made this game quite quickly and then I went back and spent about a week reworking and tweaking the head collisions, bouncing and movement. I’m glad I did and I’m very happy you like it.
Great game, i liked the way you used the full background for the count
Cheers! I was happy with that design choice. I didn’t want to tuck it away in the corner like most games so I thought, why not make it as big as possible?
This is quite addictive as is, if you could spice it up with some variation it might become quite something. Good job!
Thanks! This is preparation for something bigger so you may eventually get your wish 🙇
Thanks a lot!
