- This game offers a fun survival concept with a good mix of potion-making and element combining to create spells. The mechanics are engaging, but it could benefit from a more gradual progression to help players build momentum more easily.
- I couldnt get the power ups to work. I was still stuck with the beginner alchemy / spell.
Did you include your Game Design Document as a Google Drive link?
Yes
Seriously... did you include your Game Design Document?
Yes, it's at the bottom of the page!
Is your game set to Public so we can see it?
Yep
Tell us about your game!
You play as a cat who's master was sucked into a strange shadowland... After chasing after him, you find out you are not alone on the other side...
Using the magical staff your master dropped when he was taken, you must fight off hordes of strange monsters who will chase you relentlessly. Luckily the creatures are full of magical energy, allowing you to rapidly learn the arcane arts.
As you kill enemies, you gain elemental research points, which you can either combine to discover new elements, or spend to learn new magic.
Use WASD to move and mouse to aim and shoot. When you level up, you can choose to spend gained research points before continuing.
Have fun!

God damn this was so much fun. Really interesting upgrade mechanic but I do wish there was a way to know if you unlocked everything possible. I only had the middle spell, the meteor spell, the circle flame spell, the mud slow spell and the collect radius spell, I don't know if I missed anything. But besides that the gameplay is just great stuff, clearing that big enemy group is just so much fun
Really fun game, havent played vampire survivors in a while and this certainly scratches that itch, really like the art work and spell system
I'm a Mac user, so sadly, I couldn't experience your game. I still want to leave a comment because the gifs I see + the initial movement and cat animation seem so polished, I'm pretty sure this is a great game!
I hope I remember to try it out when I'm home from holiday and I have a windows pc available again :p
Nice job!
Hey there! Thank you for commenting despite not being able to play right now. We're actually going to bringing out an update that should resolve the issue once the judging period has ended, so if you're not able to access a windows PC before then you have that to look forward to!
I really liked this game. It felt very polished, the music was good and fit the setting well, and the sound effects made it very satisfying to pickup research points.
Checked this game!
The music was a really good choice, the sound effects are all very satisfying. But I think this game excels especially in the visual side of things!
The sprite work is really pretty, the enemy designs are creepy and reek of evil and the cat is about as cute as it should be!
The cat itself controls really well, the little animations on the monsters gives them the feeling of being alive and the particle effects do wonders to give the game an extra level of visual polish!
The element and spell system was fun! Took me a tiny bit to understand it all, but I liked that we're able to collect many bits of elements before we get the chance to upgrade things, and the combination aspect of it gives a lot of room to create many different spells if the game were to ever continue development! Being able to right click to create a combination as a shortcut was a very welcome touch.
The only things that I'd mention is that I somewhat missed was a timer or a wave number to get a bigger sense of progression than just the introduction of new enemies, and it'd be cool to have some way to heal. Otherwise, I had a good time with this!
This game is really pretty and very fun!
This game is awesome!! I could easily spend myself spending hours on end trying to get as far as possible. As far as suggestions go, I really don't have much. For games like this, it will only get better with more content added. Also a stats screen at the end would be great!
Really fun and addictive! It would be nice if there was a timer to see how far we made it.
The upgrade system is very creative, but I'm not sure if I like that the elements are consumed even if you don't make anything, after a while I just upgraded the fireballs and the base spell and made it pretty far.
Super cool concept, I really enjoyed the discovery aspect of the elemental alchemy system, it felt rewarding to crack a new combo. There were times I was a bit unsure if there was anything else to unlock in a certain direction, but not knowing was part of the joy, so I bet balancing those two aspects is tricky! The lil' cat sprite is so precious, I would die for them, great work 💚
A very beautiful vampire-survivor like with a lot of charm and interesting level up system.
The leveling up really confused me at first but after reading the tooltips and the game page a bit and experimenting I managed to figure it out fairly easy. I gotta say I really like the system, gathering elements and combining them to form other ones to unlock and level up powers is really cool. However I DO NOT like the fact that I am punished and lose resources for incorrect combinations. It feels too heavy and goes against the spirit of experimentation in my opinion.
Also I'm not sure if it's a bug but after you run out of a combined element you can't right click to create it you have to manually combine the 2 base elements again so I found myself keeping at least 1 of them in stock to avoid this.
I wish there was an indicator to show you if you had unlocked everything or not. I feel like I'm missing something in the bottom right but then the whole upgrade screen can be panned around so for all I know I'm missing tons! I couldn't figure out anything to combine with the ice at the very bottom and I swear I tried every combination.
Also some indication of your level/time survived/enemies killed etc would have been cool then you can compare your scores with others.
The art is just absolutely fantastic. I love the main character design and the enemies all look great. The background/level design is full of charm and is nicely detailed. The UI and level-up screen looks great and the effects are fantastic.
The music was kinda quiet and not much to comment on to be honest. The SFX were nice especially the collection sound, it was very satisfying, maybe a level-up sound of some sort would have been nice.
Later on my game became completely unplayable with the hundreds of characters and effects on screen it just lagged SO SO much and ultimately got me killed when I lag spiked into a massive group of enemies and died. A way of healing would be nice :)
Overall a very fun game, I absolutely love vampire survivors and this brings a really nice and unique twist to the formula. I'd love to see this developed and the spell system turned up to 11, like Infinite craft where you can make anything haha (maybe not that far)
Would love to revisit if there are more updates :)
Awesome art and map design! Epic polish! Spell combining feels like it could be better explained.
Adorable cat. Love it.
Though confusing at first, the combining elements and unlocking spells was really fun to play around with and try to strategize which directions to go with it. One thing I'm not sure anyone else has mentioned yet is that on my first playthrough I was very confused why the spells I was combining weren't benefiting me in any way. I was like, "I combined these elements to make those elements, but nothing has changed when normal gameplay is resumed?"
Another bit of feedback is that I felt it was hard to tell what parts of the environment were ones I could walk through and which were obstacles. Maybe obstacles could be a tad lighter in color or something similar? Something subtle that can be used by players to make deciding their path easier.
Lastly, I found legibility of text on screen to sometimes be a bit poor. The worst offender is that the 8 and 0 look so similar I can't tell them apart most of the time.
Overall, really fun and cute game! Good luck in the jam and in your future endeavors.
Cats!!!!! I loved cats! The game is great, graphic is great, generally the game is great. I would say a bit hint, like how combining elements should work, or how the level progression works would be nice, as when I first got into the game, I am quite lost and was overwhelmed by everything that is there. It doesn't affect much later on though, as when you grasp how the system works, the game just become more and more enjoyable.
So that's said, the game was just expertly made, so a job well done!
a nice approach and I really loved the glowing visuals, looks really cool and feels nice to play! The camera was a bit close for my taste and, as others already mentioned, the upgrade system could need some more hints. And I mean no big explanations, maybe just show outlines of hidden skills so that the player knows there is more to discover, and show the names of the elements at mouseover, especially for the combined ones. Also I was confused that my elements got consumed even if the crafting was invalid (I guess?). Might be a bug, felt a bit frustrating. But cool little game overall!
Thank you for the insightful feedback! I agree that a few hints would probably go a long way. The idea behind consuming the elements on invalid combinations is that I wanted players not just to select elements by trial and error but also think about which elements made sense to combine. I can definitely see how it would be frustrating though, so I'll have to figure out a better way to accomplish that! Thank you for playing :)
Really fun art style and animations! I wasn't entirely sure what I was crafting, but I had fun running around shooting everything!
The art is so perfect, cutest Survivors-style game I've seen maybe. The game play is really satisfying, especially when you get the enemies in a nice line and you've got piercing. I didn't manage to break the game with some OP build unfortunately but I still had a lot of fun. Excellent game!
The enemy designs are so cute! And the player for that matter. The combat feels fair, and you can route the enemies into a train like in classic COD zombies. Unfortunately I think I am a bit lost in how the upgrading system works. I was gathering the upgrade points, but is almost like I was combining things incorrectly, and my attacks never got stronger. I think it would be help to give a quick explainer of the logic of the upgrades.
Overall very cute and stylish!
Thank you for the feedback! The intent is for the player to purchase spells by clicking on the circular buttons in the upgrade screen when they have enough resources. Combining elements serves to create new elements (which are required to purchase more advanced spells). This clearly hasn't been communicated very well in the interface so that's definitely something for us to work on ^_^'
Experience was similiar. Loved the artwork. Was easy to get started because of the genre, but also could not make out the combining (had the feeling I wasn't doing it right). But great game in all! In 2.5 week even phew.
i got stuck on the first crafting screen (mac/firefox), i could select things and make a new combo, but i couldnt get out of the crafting screen, i tried every keypress and clicked everywhere. i like the art and only really just got a tiny taste of the gameplay - but i wanted to try more :)
Thank you for the feedback! There should be a continue button in the bottom right of the screen, if not then please let me know so I can get to the bottom of why that might be happening.
Fun game, I liked the enemy design and the experience collection sound was very satisfying. Not sure I completely understood the crafting system, but eventually I had two flames orbiting me that were just destroying everything!
It seemed like the more stuff I destroyed, the more stuff would spawn, and newly spawned mobs are the deadliest threat in the game haha, so in some sense it felt like, the more powerful I got, the harder the game got.
Great game
You cannot not like the brotato/vampire survivor type games
Very cool crafting system!
Played it for about 30 minutes xD
Awesome art and fitting sound design!
Great entry, Good job!
Thank you for playing!
