Game's Take on the Theme
Most actions require SPINning a wheel to determine what happens, and we plan to add time travel elements (It's spinning if you squint) in the future

Did your team make the majority of the art and music during the jam?
YES (but SOMEONE did get lazy and use samples from royalty free music)

If not, please link to any asset packs or resources used here.

What a silly fun game. Man I laughed out loud at the starting cutscene, and also the main menu sounds like we are the Avengers, so epic. And the artstyle is also very neat and silly, man, I was looking at the MC when I defeated a boss and I was like "is this the face of mercy?"

Gotta say, haven't played turn based combat games in a while, so it took me a bit to get my gears working, but neat implementation of the theme with having every action have the wheel that you have to stop and try to get on green, except for enemies. Speaking of combat, it is very neat, many times I've played turn based games I get bored after a while because long waits and eventually monotony of spamming the same attack over and over again, but this one gets a pass. I do think that the spider purple beam needs some work, because it pretty much one shots you unless you are constantly blocking, which kinda makes its fight repetitive.

Developer(+2)

Thanks for playing and for the feedback. I'm glad that you liked the story, and it's great to hear that the combat worked for you. The spider fight is definitely a bit repetitive. That and the CEO didn't receive as much production time as the other bosses. Thanks again for playing!

It's pretty great game!

The game play are pretty challenging but I felt it's kind of unfair for some bosses who can does a direct attack without spinning or did I encountered glitch? accidentally clicked? or it's really made that way like Spider Boss beam attack, or those oil mancer something fire ball, there's no spin mechanism to reduce damage which is why I struggling like a lot as I waste turns for heal and incase I missed I obviously will died.

All bosses are ridiculously hard but doable only if you had decent reflexes and manage to click on time to stack damage, I died like dozen time until I managed to grasp the correct timing but sometimes I missed too as well.

I didn't get any thropy or whatever after all that struggle, all I got is this:

Anyway that's all I can say, if I said something wrong or missed something, let me know.

Developer(+2)

Thanks for playing, and I appreciate the extensive feedback. To clarify, there aren't a lot of attacks in the game that allow you to spin for damage reduction which is by design, but we might have gone a little overboard with it. All attacks are on a rotation though, so you're intended to memorize when attacks are used. Spider canon is every 3 turns and oilmancer fireball is every 4 turns iirc. Sorry the story didn't really stick for you, but the end cutscene was meant to be the reward for completion. Thanks again for playing.

Submitted(+1)

I'm sorry I didn't really read the story because I kind of rushing this as I have another one need to be played, I'll read it properly when I had time, hope for your understanding.

Developer(+1)

Not a problem at all. You don't have to come back to it. Good luck getting through the other games you're playing!

Developer(+2)

lol the thing at the end is supposed to be geaux's arm

Submitted(+1)

Bahaha I love it, really neat spin mechanics to hit the red/green, I felt i did pretty good till i got to the spider that killed me in 3 hits! haha Really fun though! Feel free to try our game!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and the feedback. For the spider, I'm not sure if you knew about the heal menu which can be accessed by clicking on Geaux, but it's necessary to heal and defend to beat the spider and all future bosses.

Developer

who reported this???

was it light punch

I am loving how different genres implemented the spin theme. Turn based one new to me. Would’ve loved if the fights were faster tho.

Developer

Thanks for playing and the feedback. If we update post-jam we might reduce some of the wait times for attacks/animations.

Interesting combat system, sick vibe, but dang did it feel like fights dragged on. Not in a boss fight-y long and strategic way either, just kinda irritating because they just required the same sequence of actions over and over with no variance. Block the spider, aoe the oilmancer, etc. over and over. Would've benefitted from some more attack variety on the fights to break the constant cycle. I like the premise a lot, but it just dragged on a little long for my tastes. Since it seems y'all do have plans post jam, might I recommend having more than one party member? Game would really benefit from some team-based strategy and synergy so there's more to do beyond the basic "Here's my one guy, it's turn three, so I block now." Do quite like using the wheel to negate some enemy damage, that's a cool mechanic. Little odd it doesn't apply to summons, but not too crazy or anything. Really solid game. Story was funny, like the (legally distinct) doctor, art was fitting and an enjoyable aesthetic.

Developer(+1)

We did intend to add more stuff, but as it turns out, coordinating 5 people to work on the same thing is quite hard. Glad you enjoyed the game, tho!

Developer

we shouldve added haus as a party member 💀

This is spot on. Honestly, I normally steer clear of this kind of turn based combat, but the amusing intro got me far enough in to be invested, and then I got hooked on the combat loop. Now I like this kind of combat. Great job!

Developer(+1)

I usually don't particularly like this kind of combat either, but the rest of the team insisted and I think it turned out great! I'm glad you like the video game <3

This is a very unique and fun game, I haven't seen anything like this in the game jam.
The art style is refreshing and the gameplay is great. I keep trying to figure out the exact time to press so I land in the green area but my guess is always wrong haha.
There was a really long story so that's great you were able to do that too.

Good luck!

Developer

I'm kinda surprised that there weren't any other turn based games (that I've heard abt), and the story was pretty easy to implement with me having already made the system for a different project a long time ago and sketchy making the art at the same time as I was writing. You actually don't need to guess at all for the spinners, as they stop immediately when you press the button, so you just need good timing. I'm glad you enjoyed the game, and good luck to you too! <3

Loved the graphics and effects in the game! I'm a fan of that 2.5D style graphics. Gameplay was also really fun! had a blast playing your game!

(P.S. If you're willing to I'd love it if you played and gave some feedback to my game! It's my first ever game jam and I'd love to see where I can improve!)

Developer(+1)

I shall gladly play thy game, dear ‘ProGameWizard78’

Thank you Mr. 'Sketchy'! (Why the emphasis on my name lol 😭)

Super cute and Onpoint submission ! Great job, I had fun on it :-)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing. Hearing that someone had fun with the game is always awesome.

Submitted(+1)

Knockout submission, spin mechanics were great and the game was overall very fun and challenging

Developer

Thanks for playing. Hopefully the difficulty wasn't too much. We (mostly me) buffed a couple bosses (mostly oilmancer) on the last day.

Submitted(+1)

I like a lot the handdrawn graphics from intro, really cool and adding depth to the game, the gameplay mechanics feel good and also i like that using roulette is linked to our reflex, its good think instead of luck, the 3D ambient merged with the 2D graphics is cool and even the camera movement, zoom and placement is really nice, well done overall!! I rate graphics, fun, control and theme on top but all is great really, also, if you have some time, please, rate my game too, thanks!!!!

Developer

Thanks for playing, and I'm glad you liked it. We were sure pretty early on that the roulette should be skill based. I'll be sure to check out your game as well.

HOLY PRODUCTION QUALITY! Best game in this jam I think...

Basically, it's housemd if it was good

Developer(+1)

Thanks :3 Unfortunately it wasn't in the budget to get a real license for house... Anyway glad you enjoyed it <3

This is just lovely on every aspect. The simple drawings on a 3D world look neat, the gameplay is a fun take on turn-based battles with a creative incorporation on the theme, and the tone is hilarious. Definitely one of my favourites.

Developer

Thanks for playing. So glad to hear that you liked it!

Submitted(+2)

Game seemed interesting! loved the art style and take on the theme!

Developer(+3)

Thanks for playing. The art team did a great job!

Fun and very simple game. I've seen many similar flash games. Fun game. My only challenge was the oilmancer, son of a. Otherwise, the bosses were pretty easy. Short game and very good :)

Developer(+2)

Thanks for playing. The oilmancer was buffed last minute to mixed results. Glad you liked it!

Developer(+2)

I hate this game it’s like if Elden Ring was good and that makes me MAD!!!!

Submitted(+1)

The game is smooth and atmosphere is great.

Developer(+1)

Glad you liked it <3

Submitted(+2)

Ok but why is this game actually brilliant though. This turn based system is buttery smooth, and the boss design was so much fun to plan around with. I really appreciate how bosses 2 and 3 very much force you to memorize their patterns, the struggle to beat them and the optimal play that I fostered from those two fights made the victory lap final boss feel all the better. The story is an absolute blast too and it's presented so cleanly. I seriously can't express enough how much I loved this submission!

Developer (1 edit) (+2)

Thanks so much! I'm really glad to hear that you enjoyed it so much. We weren't sure how reasonable it was to expect players to memorize boss attack patterns, so it's great to hear that you did that.

Submitted(+2)

The game very much primes the player to keeping in mind that boss patterns are entirely predictable through the line Dr Haus says about how your enemies will always do the same things whenever you travel back in that time. In that regard that intro cutscene is a VERY clever means of indirect tutorializing
