Game's Take on the Theme
Our game brings the 'spin' directly into the implementation of animations, showcasing an older form of animation with variations on an ancient mechanism that predates the age of animations, but in a much more technological environment. If you want to know more about what a Zoetrope is, we have an explanation on the game page :D
Did your team make the majority of the art and music during the jam?
Yes the whole game was made by our team!

Wow, the art in this game is really sharp, and I love the Zoetrope animations! The music sounds really familiar for some reason. Works really good in the game setting, though. I would love to see more bosses added. Really, what a well put-together and polished game though, would love to see you in the finals alongside us!
I really liked the idea of the character animations! That it changes discs depending on the animation seems very original to me!
Maybe it would have been great if changing the movement/animation would also change the position in which the boss can hurt you, since the position of the disc also changes visually.
I see a lot of potential of this idea! good job :D
WOW! This is one of the coolest interpretations of the theme I've seen yet! I never would have thought of animating players and bosses in this way, so unique! really well made!
(PS: If you're willing to I'd love it if you can rate and leave some feedback on my game! This is my first ever jam and I'd love to see where i can improve for the future!)
You made all this! nice art style.
Please rate my game. Hope you enjoy it. Although its on the easy difficulty.
Very unique interpretation of the theme spin, gotta give you extra credits for that. The responsiveness of the controls has surprised me, they behave incredibly nicely, good job, and I love the jump higher if holding jump mechanic, that's always a good plus. The boss isn't very hard but I like that by the end it starts to become quite challenging, it isn't frustrating it lets the player get used to the mechanics and then it slowly but surely increases the challenge.
It's a shame it only has one boss, I was expecting more, but the one boss you have it's extremely good, very polished and well put together. Which means you went for quality over quantity, very nice.
Hey I really like the idea of designing a game based on something that really exists in the history! This greatly enhances the depth and breadth of the game, giving it new meaning. Additionally, the game’s control mechanics are also very innovative. Congratulations to the whole team!
The use of the zoetrope in the game is really quite good, and the difficulty curve is good.
Well done!
the difficulty curve was nice, the animations were nicely done, no bugs on my end. great game.
At first i hadn't any idea what to do, but then i was astonished by this idea. Graphics need some polish, but otherwise the game is really well made
The difficulty increase throughout the fight felt well done and the take on the theme was very unique and felt like it was implemented very well! The player controls very clunky but I it works well with the boss.
I did experience a bug I think where every time I would get hit with the bottom+top bird combo I would take 2 hearts from hitting just the bottom bird.
Overall though this is pretty good good job!
Thank you very much for your comment, it makes us very happy to know that you liked it <3. There are indeed bugs with the character's hitboxes, but we will solve this problem and add more features when we are free to update our game. Thanks for playing!
Now that's a unique theme interpretation! Having the playable character and the boss be animated using spinning wheels not only fits the theme well but also gives the game a unique art style I haven't really seen. Though I wish more of the UI and main menu got this art style as well.
The attacks of the boss where simple but fun to avoid while trying to charge up attacks to fight back. The music really helped to make the atmosphere of the boss fight more intense. However, I did notice that the hitboxes aren't the most accurate as you could get damaged seemingly out of nowhere. Also, some of the attacks could deal 2 damage instead of 1 but I don't know if that's intentional or not.
Still though, this is a solid game 👍
We're so glad you liked it! About the menu, we had in mind to do it in the same style but unfortunately we couldn't do it in time. The hitboxes are really bugged, the double damage is not intentional. Soon after the jam we will send an update of our game fixing these problems and adding new bosses! Thank you very much for playing our game❤️
This might be one of the most unique implementations of the theme I've seen! This deserves full marks for the theme for sure.
As for the gameplay, I found that the basic attack did so little damage compared to the fully charged attack. And the boss health could have been reduced since they felt a little too tanky.
Great work, overall!
Your feedback is so important to us! ❤️ We are so glad you liked the idea. Thank you very much for the feedback, we will update the game as soon as the jam ends to fix these boss balancing issues 😊
Honestly the concept of a zoetrope for a spin game jam is really good. Fits the theme perfectly. I lost to the boss a bunch but it was fun!
Thank you so much for playing our game, we're glad you enjoyed it❤️
The whole animation system is pretty cool! Great job! About the gameplay, the boss could've way less health or give the character an upgrade to her shot to deal more damage, but if she takes damage, the upgrade is lost, something like that.
A great idea! Thank you for sharing your feedback and thank you for playing our game, it means a lot to us❤️
I loved how the animations work, must have been a headache great job !

We're glad you enjoyed our game. It was a lot of work, but we loved the whole process. Thanks for playing and leaving your comment <3
really cool concept and gameplay which definitely encompassed the theme for the jam! all the art and mechanics fit together well so great work on this!
We are very happy with your comment, thank you very much for playing our game ❤️
The concept for this is so cool! The way you have all the discs in a row and swap between them to play out different character animations is actually genius!
The boss has TOO much health! I would have liked to try and beat it but going back to the first phase where it's really easy again for what feels like 5 minutes every time made me not want to go back after getting to phase 3 once.
The UI at the start was quite rough to look at since it seemed to be massive and quite low resolution, but stuff seemed fine when I got into the game itself.
The actual in game art is really quite cool and I'd like to see the concept done in a bigger game with more time to polish some of the background details etc.
Nice game!
Thanks for the feedback! We're already working on updates and improvements to this boss, and we plan to redo certain things like the game's interface. Thank you very much for giving us your opinion and for enjoying the game. We plan to expand our game and give it a good polish! Since this was our first game, we still didn't have much experience, but the feedback we received and the conversations we had with the people who participated in the jam gave us a better vision and a good path to follow.
We really appreciate you playing our game❤️
Very unique game, haven't seen another game so far about a zoetrope in this game jam! I like the art and animation style, has a lot of potential for future development!
I actually didn't realize that the boss was in the right hand corner at first, so I was shooting randomly trying to see what affected the boss health bar. I think it would be more intuitive if the boss moved around or was a prominent part of the scene. Overall I enjoyed the game!
Your feedback means a lot and encourages us to continue producing the game ❤️. We are already working on an update to the game implementing better ways to recognize the boss and solving other small problems as well! Thank you very much for sharing your feedback.
Hey! Cool visuals you got here! I knew about old animation methods but I would have never thought of it for a game jam! One thing that annoyed me a little bit while playing was the weird hitboxes when the bunnys fell, they were not on screen and still hitting me, maybe making they despawn sooner or have a smaller hitbox? Anyway, good job! It was fun.
We're so glad you enjoyed it ❤️
We're already working on updates to our game and will definitely fix the bugs with the hitbox! Thank you so much for your feedback <3
