I like what's here so far. Character feels a little floaty and controls could be tighter. Upgrade system opens up a lot of possibilities for different playstyles.

Developer

Thanks for the great feedback, and yea I've gotten a lot of feedback on the character movement in particular, it's gonna be a huge focus of mine if I get to the next round.

great game realy love it

the only thing lacking was that the player felt kinda slow to me

realy good job please continue working on it

Developer(+1)

Thanks! If I make it through this round, the first thing I'm doing is making the player faster haha

Submitted(+1)

I liked the game! I thought the movement was slow, and I didn't know whether the enemies did anything, maybe they weren't meant to, but anyway, pretty good game!

Developer

Yea, the enemies aren't supposed to do anything yet. As for the movement being on the slow side, it seems to be a common sentiment. I'll have to add a sprint mechanic if I survive the first round.

been waiting to rate this
very well thought and executed both core and secondary really fits well
would love to see this to be developed further
well done man!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much, I loved your game as well!

Archery is always fun ! Your implementation works really well

Developer

Thank you! Loved your game.

Submitted(+1)

Love the shooting, bow model is beautiful, i think the player movement could be faster but that just might me being critical as i aint very keen on first person games, but this is great and good luck in round 2 if you make it!

Submitted(+1)

Nevermind i replayed and loved the movement

Developer

Haha I appreciate it! The player movement was a common criticism I received. I wanted to leave room for upgrades to player movement but I ran out of time.

ah ok

I think you have a really good game here that fits the task and judging criteria perfectly. Well done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you fellow skeleton man

Developer(+1)

Your game scared the bejesus out of me

Submitted(+1)

Thank you. Was worried the cute style might dampen the atmosphere and jump scare.

Developer(+1)

It did not

Submitted(+1)

So.. you hit the two mechanics with a gold arrow.

Hit the progression with a fire arrow.

And I want more. This is a very fun game and looking forward if you continue this and expand it more!!

Submitted(+1)

Really fun, sad it was so short really liked the flame arrow wish more of that will be implemented. For the task at hand really good and im looking forward to the next update :)

Developer

Poker Pantry was one of my favorite entries this round. In fact, I think I had the most fun playing it out of all the entries I tried. There was a bit of a learning curve but once I figured it out I was making some crazy soups and racking up thousands of points. I think if you polished this up and put it on Steam, you could actually make some serious dough!

The shooting really felt awesome and the player movement was really clean. Graphically looked awesome as well, all the fire effects were wicked. Really enjoyable and looking forward to seeing where you take this in the next round (assuming you continue with this idea)

Submitted(+1)

Shooting feels great and I really like how the skill tree looks with the runes now! After playing through it again now, I think I know why some people get overrun by enemies while others don't: you don't know where the enemies are coming from, so if you are simply looking another way you will get back stabbed, and it will feel more difficult.

Very nice one! Love how the targets in the enemies pretty much beg for you to shoot them! Really effective messaging. Also great visuals and atmosphere! (One small bug is that you can spend currency in already bought upgrades.)

Developer(+1)

Hahaha can't believe I missed that

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much btw, I thought your game was awesome

Submitted

Thanks, man. I'm really impressed with yours too. Shows a lot of general gamedev skills.

Very nice feeling bow mechanic! I imagine that took a lot of time to tweak, the arrow flight time and everything feels really great.

Awesome job!

Submitted(+1)

S tier for sure. Very nice game!

Developer

Thank you so much, you're way too kind

Submitted(+1)

I really liked the feel and visuals of the bow. Nice work!

Submitted(+1)

Very cool game, remembered me of the Kovaak's days. Fire arrows were the best option for an ability btw

Submitted(+1)

I liked this game. Fire ability is great, love how the VFX of butning enemies look, lol

Developer

Thank you! Your game was great, I loved the spooky charming atmosphere and the game loop of farming the pumpkins and fighting spooky monsters is something I'd love to see expanded on more.

fun game with nice art. i would like to see this game idea developed further

Thank you! I can't wait to try your game as well, I just need to figure out how to install the correct version of Java lmao

Edit: Your game was pretty impressive. I can't imagine how painful that must have been to make using pure Java
