Description
‘Inside My World’ by Chris Whiter
Game Genre: This game would be a platform-adventurer with a non-linear metroidvania approach to gameplay. An interconnected world of exploration that follows a journey through the character’s memories of their childhood. Aesthetically the game will use the @kawaakar._ artwork, utilising soft, pastel-like colour schemes and hand-drawn, low-frame rate animation. The game’s themes will be poignant, but there will not be a focus on combat or violence, more on puzzle-solving and thought-provoking sequences.
Music Genre Influences: Orchestral, Hybrid, Jazz
Runtime: 4’59” [Prologue & Main Theme]
Software used: Logic X
Inspirations: Utilising an unused melodic sketch, the ‘Inside My World’ theme inspired me to draw on my own musical history, from game and film projects I have worked on to my music backgrounds in both classical/orchestral writing and jazz.

The motion and different sections in the Main Theme felt cohesive and seemless, it gives a very strong sense of narration.
It is good to have people like you coming into these jams, it's encouraging and inspiring :)
Unbelievably well produced. I wish that you would have been able to create a few more tracks in order to flesh out more of your story. But great job nevertheless!
this is fantastic! the whole thing feels super cohesive without being too repetitive, and gets across the vibe of ur game idea really well!
I was totally blown away by this music. So cheery and dreamy. Just as you could imagine the theme. Great job. And wow, your credits are quite impressive! The music is very uplifting and messes so well with the theme and ideas you came up with. Beautiful work.
That`s great music there) So easy to listen and so easy to lost in it, beautiful!
Composition is on point! Really nice work on both the focal melodies and the layers of ambience :)
There are some nice movements in these tracks. I liked the second part of the "Main Theme" and the ending was really well done. Orchestration was on point and the composition really shone through. Thanks for sharing!
Colourful, not-trivial harmonies you got there! This has the hand of a professional over it, you can really feel that. The choices for instrumentation are a perfect balance between orchestral and ethnic, and I really like the ever changing scenarios throughout the tracks, they definitely manage to tell the story in a punctual way.
Among the absolute best I heard so far!
It's easy to hear, that your music is in another tier when it comes to sound quality and mixing! It really sound amazing :D I love the middle part of the Main Theme! The organic wind instruments really does it for me
Great job on this. Our ideas for the type of game this is were very similar. You just happened to describe it better than I could. Haha
Both of the tracks sound so cinematic and professional (although I guess that would make sense because you are lol)! The whole OST is such an adventure and I especially love the last minute or so of the "Main Theme," it even gave me goosebumps!
Overall just some extremely impressive work all around!
That's all I have to say really, have a good day :D
Orchestration, mixing and melody were all on point. I love the secondary dominant usage that scratches the jazz part of my brain. The subtle percussion and conversations between the instruments were amazing. It kept me engaged from start to finish.
I'm a big fan to the ethereal nature of these tracks; Just really inviting.
My favorite part of the whole experience from the Main Theme starts at 1:30 in. The rhythms on the Main Theme go so hard with the percussion picking up!
And wow the whole track was an emotional rollercoaster.
Very well done!
Beautiful work with this one. I loved the chords and melodies in the prologue, the piano was beautiful. The orchestration in the main thing was fantastic, and your overall dynamics were phenomenal throughout.
Well done!
Very nice sound selection/instrumentation, love how the melody juggles seamlessly between instruments. Great dynamics between sections, a lot of narrative crafting intertwined within these sonic decisions. Awesome job!
This is so pretty!! Very enchanting and cinematic
good stuff man, it's impressive that every instrument seems to be live recording rather than midi. My favorite track is the main theme!
Love the hang drum! It all sounds very professionally done, but I guess that's because you are! This one definitely needs some more recognition.
I loved the instrument palette used, I felt it fit the theme really well. Awesome dynamic swell and ambience in the pieces.
Thank you very much! Much appreciated :)
Shouldn't you be on the judges panel and not the entrants with a resumé like that? ;)
Kidding of course, really cool to have an industry professional in here. Off the bat it upon starting up Inside My World it was evident that you've got your chops down pat. Good layering and distribution of voices, great use of stereo space and super smooth arranging. Prologue is fantastic also - it's got a quiet moodiness to it, ambling along with gentle introduction of supporting instrumentation to thicken it up right before the decrescendo.
Great work all around on this, would not be surprised to see you vying for one of the top spots with it. Best of luck.
Really appreciate your comments, thank you :) There are really nice subtle details in your submission and a lovely soundworld created, great work!
