Love the game and the simplistic art style.

A randomised board layout could be fun and add a bit more replaybaility.

Amazing music, would honestly just leave it on in the background for the nusic.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

Can you elaborate on what you mean by "randomised board layout"?

Once you figure out the strategy, this game is really fun. The minimalist art works and the music goes hard! My only complaint is, there isn't more levels or modes, definitely wish there was more!

Developer(+1)

Glad to know you liked it. I'll work on adding more to the game in the next versions. Your complaint is encouraging :)

Thanks for playing!

Very interesting and novel idea. Very well executed. It was intuitive enough that I understood it fairly early, and the UI is nice and clear. I think the concept has a lot of further potential if you'd like to make a full game, but this is a great beginning!

Thanks for playing!

Hope to improve this further towards a full game. Your encouraging feedback definitely helps :)

I really enjoyed this, I've been playing it over and over again until I finally won.
Great job, it's got good music, good game play and good graphics. I'm impressed.

My turn, Draw! Monsuta-- sorry wrong game.

Very addicting strategic card game, I played a few rounds but it looks like the storm is too powerful it beat me good. Overall nice little experience!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Glad to know you liked it. Hope you beat it sometime :)

Wow, this is amazing! I love all the cards mechanics, makes you really plan ahead to get the most out of them. In my first play, I was dumb enough to not pay attention to what initial tiles do, so I was wondering why my +20 nuclear plant became +5 (I placed in near the jungle, lol).

I had much fun playing your game, great job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and your feedback!

Haha! Yeah I didn't put that in the instructions I guess. Glad you had fun.

This game is amazing

1) fun gameplay loop, i played several times

2) cards are all meaningful and have interesting interactions, every card does something different and purposeful

3) fits gamejam theme well

4) storm cards are random and can disrupt your build, lets to extra exciting gameplay and thoughtfulness in building placement

5) art and design isstrong and evocative and representative

6) the game board is neatly designed with spots that don't allow a building to be place (is there a special building that can be put on those spots??)

7) game is fully playable with no bugs or issues that I encountered, polished

8) my one gameplay criticism would be if the player doesnt have good card draw they're very affected by just playing the top of the deck each time, maybe one game i got hit with just too much discard and seemed like i was monotonously playing one card after the other off the top off my deck without any though. That was my first game though on my 3 subsequent playthroughs I was combing off

Lastl remarks: I think our gamejam games are similar in style, both use methodical tactical and puzzle analyses to play through

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks so much for your detailed, helpful and encouraging feedback!

6) Great question! There's no card like this right now, but I don't see why not. I had considered placing buildings on top of each other as well with some associated effects, but wanted to keep things simple for the jam.

8) Very good point as well. Will see how to handle this.

Can't wait to play your game. Soon!

This is a very solid card builder game - very polished and impressive for a short jam like this one.

I have no real critiques right now! I'm trying a second playthrough to see if I can win. Nice job.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback :)

Hope you do win. Cheers!

The game turned out to be easier than i thought or maybe i was just lucky. I liked the variability of the cards and minimalist approach to the visuals. Overall it's a good game, had fun!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

The balance needs some work. I'll improve this in future versions. Glad you liked the game overall.

The idea is awesome. I like how this game includes so many cards for a game that was made in such a short amount of time. The sound track is really dope and makes me feel like I'm in an epic fantasy/medieval setting, can keep listening to it all day. If I have one criticism it would be that the cards are allowed to be selected while the draw animation is playing and I kept trying to play the card at hand and it would not let me which felt a little bit frustrating.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback!

Yeah I should disable card selection as well. Actually it was a last minute fix that I put in to disable card placement while drawing :)

One of the best in the jam, only complaint is that the clock tower is made useless by the fact that you will always have the board filled up at the end of turn 20. My solution would be: add the ability to skip if you want.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks for the encouraging feedback!

Yeah I agree the Clock Tower is not straightforward to use. The idea was to counter any "reduce turn limit" effects that happen with Nuclear Plant or Cave. I guess Skip would still be useful if you're running out of slots but have time. I'll consider this, thanks for the suggestion!

I like it but my best was 187!

I absolutely love this game! The combination of card game mechanics and city builidng is so cool. The visual style is simple yet really memorable. This game is definitely one of my favorite right now. GL! <3

Oh no, my first run ended with 188/190! I like this a lot, the presentation is simple but effective and the pre-placed tiles help make early game decisions interesting. It felt a bit anti-climactic to me that the storm ends after turn 15, since then I know I can just place cards with high values and not worry about any additional effects, but I think I understand the rationale here. Maybe instead of 1 time events the storm might work well as an ongoing effect?

Anyway, good work!

Developer (1 edit)

That's pretty close! And also quite high for a first run, maybe I should make it tougher ;)

Glad you liked the presentation and terrain tiles. Ongoing effects are possible as well, yes.

Thanks for playing and the feedback!
