Love the stylised graphics. All creatures are easily recognisable and have lots of personality. The animations for the deer bucking and the swans dancing were particularly good. Music and sound design complement the graphics well. Very interesting and unique interpretation of the theme too.

For improvements, one thing I found a bit jarring was when the wolves spawn on-screen during the deer sequence, especially when they spawn close by. Maybe have them spawn off-screen instead.

Very strong submission. Congratulations!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the positive feedback, that’s very nice! : ) Indeed, it will be worth improving this spawn, we have run out of time for some finishes unfortunately. We note this for after the jam. Thanks again!

Thank you so much!

Beautiful game. Took me some time to understand how to get the third ending. Thanks for the experience

Developer

You made my day by just saying you achieved all endings! I spent quite some time making these little cutscenes at the end, I'm glad some of you were able to watch it. Thanks a lot for playing and for your feedback :)

Good morning! Great work on your project, I loved the art style and I think the animations for the animals are beautiful. You did a great job for level design, and it all flows together very well. Here are some thoughts I had while playing your game!

  • The player input control has a slight delay when you're pressing the movement key, feels like the character has some weight behind it, which feels good for the larger animals but slightly out of place for the smaller one.
  • In the introduction dialogue, the sfx for the animal talking kind of cuts out as each dialogue text reads out.
  • I love that you used a combination of 2D and 3D, possibly creating an artificial workaround for stylized shadows would make your game pop!
  • The transition between animals were fantastic, but there was a bit of lag when transition between the two which made the screen studder for a moment.
  • In the bird sequence, if you finish in more than 6 moves, it says "I can't help but thin" in stead of "think" I believe
  • I think in instead of starting over from the beginning after completing the bird level, it was a little frustrating to have to try to go back through the parts completed to reach the other endings.

Overall great game! This was a fantastic experience for a game made in a month, both the art and composed music were stunning. Although I was a little confused by the flying saucer but I assume we learn more later?

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you so much for your feedback! We were aware of some of them (the stutter during some transitions) but some not at all (I will definitely investigate the input control). This is extremely useful! I'm also glad to hear from someone who completed the game!

Finnish the game in less than 4 minutes and you'll get the secret hidden behind the flying saucer!

The graphics are simple but used very effectively. The origami-inspired visual style is super charming, and the chosen color palette is easy on the eyes. Some puzzle elements had me stumped for a bit, but I quickly figured out what was required of me. The music is beautiful, and overall, the game creates a calming, meditative experience. I really enjoyed it—great work!

I loved the atmosphere you created with this game! The music, art and animation all work together beatifully to create a sense of a mystical, magical forest.

I got a little stuck with some of the gameplay. I realised after reading the page what I was meant to do in the deer level, but it would have been nice if the game communicated the rules organically, somehow.

Developer

Thank you <3

I loved the graphics and animal theme

Really liked this, love the 2D graphicsin the 3D world. Relaxing to play, enjoyed the dancing puzzle at the end, was satisfying to finally solve. Very good job!

Thank you :)

Very atmospheric and stylish. I liked the idea of the challenges of the different creatures within the same setting. I enjoyed it.

Thank you so much :)

Adorable game with lovely visuals! It was a little tricky to figure out what to do sometimes but satisfying when I figured it out!

Submitted(+1)

awesome graphics, nice music! imo there are too few signs pointing out what todo (wasted way too much time figuring out that there are 3 stacks in the second scene). also, i am not able to get past the third scene. what are the parameters? how far can i get away from the others? how many can be alive? is the start random? why cant i just go alone?

Developer (1 edit)

Haha sorry, I realize this level is a bit confusing. For the deers, you have to first join the group (place yourself within the group and they'll start running). Wolves will attack the pack and you have to defend them by simply running into the wolves (you'll hit them automatically). At the some point the deer will arrive at their destination and you'll get to the next zone. Thanks for the feedback!

The game's page also provide some tips to understand this level.

I see, i guess i just suck at it xD

What a cute, wholesome game! Very nice graphics and animation.

The game looks and sounds great. Sadly I was not able to finish it because i couldn't figure out what to do in the second area.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

If you move straight up when you enter the elk/deer area, they will start running (or approach the pack from the left). You follow them and protect them against the wolves until they arrive at their destination. The trigger area that starts their run is a little small unfortunately so I realize that some might have missed it.

The game's page also provide some tips to understand this level.

Thanks a lot for the feedback though :)

This game blew me away!

The visual and sound design is top notch.

What a great experience!

Developer

Thank you so much for your comment :D

I really enjoyed the art style and atmosphere, it was fantastic! However, I had some trouble figuring out what to do as the elk. It took me a while to understand how to get the pack moving, and I couldn’t quite figure out why the game restarted. I tried attacking the wolves and also avoiding them, but I’m still not sure what the objective was. Despite that, it was a nice experience, and I really liked the game. Great job overall!

Developer(+1)

The goal is to protect the elks until they arrive at their destination, it will then unlock the last area. Indeed you have to attack the wolves by just going near them. The game restarts if you move too much away from the group, but I realize it's maybe a bit sensitive and triggers too easily.

Thanks a lot for the feedback I really appreciate it!

Submitted(+1)

Ahh, now I get it! I just ran too far away from the group when I attacked the wolves 😊

Submitted(+1)

I really liked it, however, I noticed that the movement of the creatures is a bit choppy.

I like the musical idea of adding elements with each phase change.

Nevertheless good work

Submitted(+1)

Lovely environments and art direction, it was nice to explore the little stories of each creature.

Submitted(+1)

Great art style and wholesome narrative that I enjoyed. Animals were also very cute.

Developer

Thanks a lot :D

very cool theme and interpretation. art style was also gorgeous. somehow the fog shader looks a little broken on web player (attached). but it feels cozy to play nonetheless. good work!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. Which browser did you use to run the WebGl version?

Submitted(+1)

it’s arc browser, however in safari it’s a bit better

Developer(+1)

Haha, only slightly better.
I tested it only on Chrome and Firefox unfortunately. I always forget there are Mac users :(

Thanks for the feedback though, I really appreciate it!

Submitted(+1)

well done!
