I liked this game a lot. I love how quick and easy it is to understand the game. Also, great job on all the upgrades/abilities! Very fun stuff

Really cool idea for a platformer and speedrun game! My best time ended up being 7.59. All the mechanics feel really great and there are a lot of them too which is impressive. I would've liked maybe some more levels to really get to utilize the mechanics after unlocking them, but not a huge deal or anything. Great work on this!

This was a super fun game. I love how youve taken the idea of a speedrun game and added the abilities to get it done faster. One thing I would suggest though, is that i unlocked more than half of the abilities after the first run so you could probably make it a bit harder to get the abilities. I would love to see this game get worked and improved apon with more levels and abilities. Amazing work!

Asking for a speed run is a clever way to increase playtime :) It could be little bit bigger map to see the effect of upgrades but good job at all!

I love the art and all the mechanics were very well done. I think a harder level would have made the game more engaging since players would have slow starting scores and the various additional abilities would be more able to boost their speeds.

Really interesting concept, i think the level is a bit too short as i was able to get a pretty fast score on my first try so the upgrades werent super useful, otherwise great job!

I think you could do some cool things with this. I already had a pretty good score the first time around. I think you could push the speedrun part even further, for example at the start make it almost impossible to beat the game in a short amount of time. For example you can give the player the speed of a turtle initially or you need to take a longer route because your jump is not high enough yet, that would be an easy way to extend the gameplay and could even be funny.

Cute short experience. :D

Cute game and quite addictive - nice one! The movement is super smooth and I love the secondary mechanic of adding new abilities.

WR? lol. This is a great game! Can't wait to see this in round 2

Very very good idea  !

Though in my case with many abilities I run slower ))) Maybe reveal them one by one?  Each individual ability feels great, good job with that!

This is one very good concept which I would love to see get more worked on. WELL DONE :D

It’s like a whole metroidvania in one small level :) The mental progression of mechanics is excellently traced - mastering the abilities the character already has, and by overcoming each time threshold, we gain new abilities that we can also learn to use and complete the level even faster.

In your opinion, what could be the further development of mechanics? Will it involve adding new abilities or introducing some features in the level design to challenge the existing abilities?

This game is actually wicked! YOU ADDED A GRAPPLE HOOK! The movement, the different cards, the unlocking system, the core gameplay loop. I love absolutely everything about this game!

Really liked this game, was fun trying out all the abilities to try to get a faster time. Well done!

HOLY! I didn't expect one of the last year's winners to actually play my darn game. I am very grateful for the feedback man

Quite an interesting premise.  Very fun to play.  The platforming is really well done and feels great, which is more difficult to accomplish than it might seem.  I can see a lot of interest in this type of game.

Perhaps make people choose which upgrades to use, instead of unlocking all of them?  That way there's more decision making.

Developer

Honestly the lower difficulty was mostly so that judges can play it without having to sweat too much since they probably have other games to look at as well. If I end up expanding on this idea I would probably make the abilities harder to unlock.

Dude, the movements were perfect! I only found a bit slippery the walking, but dude, you are going to win this!

Developer

Haha thanks man! I am not too sure about winning but I do hope I made a fun game.  As for the slipperiness I was hoping for it to be some kind of momentum style game but turns out those are harder to make than they look so... I just have the ILLUSION of momentum style game.

GOSH this game is CUTE and COOL
Everything you need in a game jam game
I wanna see this concept expanded to have different and limited abilities to mix and match. Could have a lot of depth and meta discussion around best builds and speedruns!

Developer(+1)

Hey thanks! Well the abilities were made with the intention of it being specific for each level. I just didn't make more levels cause the card system took longer than expected. Obviously in this level "Speed" is the number one best strat but maybe for other levels it would be something else.
